The Functions and importance of Performance Management and measurement
Performance measurement is essential approach whereby a business is able to screen and
measure the essential parts of its projects and frameworks. Performance measurement is a
procedure by which an association screens essential parts of its projects and frameworks.
Information is gathered to reflect how its procedures are functioning, and that data is utilized to
drive the firm's decisions for a period of time. Normally, performance of a certain company is
estimated and contrasted with its hierarchical goals and targets (Amstrong , 2009). With use of
performance measurement, managers are able to use the information gotten to determine how the
company's current projects are functioning and how its assets can be maximized to enhance the
program's efficiencies and adequacy. It likewise guarantees that the hierarchical objectives, goals
and its subsystems are reliably met in a productive and powerful way.
Advantages and disadvantages of having KPI’s
KPI refers to the quantifiable measure that is utilized by the organization to find out whether the
firm’s goals and objective are being met. Its merits are that it helps managers to be able to
establish accurate performance targets as it identifies significant indicators of an organization’s
success (Pamenter, 2010). Besides, KPI plays a key role in helping one to analyze areas where
business excels or fails and where it can be improved. Its demerit is that one has to assess if
indicators of the company are met by workers and compare them to competitors.

Importance of continuous improvement in an organization
Continuous improvement in a business refers to the ongoing incremental improvement where an
organization continues its daily activities while constantly seeking out new opportunities in order
to increase the value of its products. Continuous improvement process plays a crucial role in
accomplishing major business changes over a period of time.
The approach is important as it helps in increasing productivity, improves the quality of
products, lowered costs and decreases delivery time (Mackie, 2008). Besides, continues
improvement in an organization plays a critical role in improving workers satisfaction or morale.
Furthermore, continuous improvement in business helps in reducing workers turnover rate as
workers are satisfied and their morale is high.
Why should risk be monitored in an organization?
Risk monitoring refers to the approach which evaluates and tracks the levels of risk in a business.
The risk should be monitored in an organization in order to keep track of the risk that occurs in
the management of the business. Besides, risk monitoring is important as it ensures the
effectiveness of risk responses which are implemented by the firm (Ferreira, 2017). Risk
monitoring also helps the organization to figure out whether new risks can now be identified,
whether proper policies were followed or whether the previous hypothesis regarding these risks
are still effectual.

Importance of monitoring staff engagement
Monitoring of staff engagement is a significant factor in the management of the organization.
One of the benefits of monitoring staff engagement is that it boosts the productivity of the
employees or staffs. According to (Bourne & Bourne, 2011), engaged staffs are 20 percent more
productive than less engaged staffs. Also, monitoring staff engagement increases customer
satisfaction. This is because staff engagement promotes passion which is infections and thus
consumers will more likely take note on that. Besides, monitoring staff engagement helps the
organization to retain the best staff, enhances the organization’s culture and promotes the
organization’s success.
