Introduction
Leadership is an important construct of any organization. For any venture to be successful, it
is essential that leadership is well established. A good leader with the ability to foresee a
vision for the company can ensure its success and can be instrumental in its growth too.
There are various kinds of leaders with respect to the leadership style they adopt, however,
not all of them are set for all kinds of constructs. Vision is a complex issue and formulating it
for the benefit of the company is not easy. It requires a lot of grit, determination, thinking
and sacrifices on the part of the leader.
In this report, we will aim to understand how leadership plays an important role in the
success of an organization, and how different leadership styles are essential and how they
integrate themselves in various situations as well.
Is Vision Just a Dream?
When talking in the context of an organization, it is important to set up a plan for the future
where we can foresee what all is to be done and how it is to be done. This plan consists of
pre-planning and modifications during implementations, but the end result is what we had
actually wanted.
This is the fine line between a dream and a vision. A dream is something we perceive
unconsciously and maybe, sometimes just for fun. It does not mean anything since we never
act on it. However, a vision is such a dream where we act upon it to turn it into reality.
Turning a dream into a vision requires a lot of hard work. It is the same analogy as turning a
blueprint of a building into the actual structure. A lot of material is needed, people are
needed, a good leader is needed and so much more.
When we aim to implement a vision, strong will and determination are needed. Since there
will be many obstacles, a lot of harsh decisions will also be made for the greater good. This

work is for the leader. Visions are metaphor turned into reality. And to realise them, the
major requirement is that of a good leader who can not only conceive a vision but has the
bandwidth to actually implement it without staggering off. He or she has to take the pill and
ensure that the work they do bears them fruit in however manner they plan. But for this,
they not only have to integrate these practices, but also have to ensure that they are able to
get the people together as well.
Creating a Vision that All Stakeholders Will Share
Creating a Vision which is universally valued is important. There are various important
people associated with organizations such as the stakeholders and the shareholders. These
people can be involved for financial as well as non-financial gains with the company, and
under any case, it is essential to ensure that they get their due. The impact of having a vision
steered by a powerful leader is important since it allows vision to come out exactly the way
it is supposed to.
Here, the important part of the process is creating the vision itself. Not every dream can be
a vision and not every vision can be implemented. The vision has to be real and achievable,
and if not that then at least in sync with the goals of the organization. This is essential since
only then can the vision be implemented properly and can be perceived and understood the
way it is supposed to be. The vision has to fulfil all the requirements of the organization,
cover the issues and should not be harmful to the people of the company in any manner.
This is essential for the people to accept it and move towards its implementation as well.

the issues and should not be harmful to the people of the company in any manner. This is
essential for the people to accept it and move towards its implementation as well.
To reach out to the people of the organization, who will actually work towards
implementing the vision, it is important to market the vision well internally. This internal
marketing of the vision has to take into consideration how is the change that will come with
the corresponding vision affect the people, what benefits do they get and how is it to be
implemented. These three things are exceptionally important and cannot be missed out on
under any circumstances whatsoever.
The people should be made a part of this vision, their ideas should be valued and
incorporated. Only when they are given the ownership of this change will they
wholeheartedly accept it and move towards implementing it. This will be more than enough
to bring this vision to life and get the people of the organization to accept it as well.
Attainable or Not Attainable Vision
The vision has to be hyper-realistic and not at all dwindling in the air in any way. The entire
purpose of the vision is to bring a change and that can happen only where it is attainable. An
unattainable vision is nothing but wastage of time and resources for the organization. If any
leader plans such a vision, then there are severe doubts on his or her credibility to be
holding the post. The vision has to fulfil all the requirements of the organization, cover the
issues and should not be harmful to the people of the company in any manner. The vision
has to be real and achievable, and if not that then at least in sync with the goals of the
organization. This is essential since only then can the vision be implemented properly and
can be perceived and understood the way it is supposed to be. A non-attainable vision, on
the other hand, can be confusing to everyone and can create a lot of trouble during the
implementation stage as no practices will ensure results and will add to the trouble of the
people.

Thus, an attainable vision is the only vision which is of any use to the company anyway. A
non-attainable vision can be termed only as mere procrastination and does not hold any real
value to the company.
Sustaining the Generic Group’s Vision
Generic groups vision could have been sustained by simply finding out ways in which it
could have been more effective in implementation. The groups simply needed the right
strategy to implement the vision and get the right people to actually do the work.
It is essential to make strategies which require the least amount of monitoring and constant
supervision and can sustain themselves. Such a vision in true terms is beneficial to the
company and should be implemented under any circumstance.
Here, in the case of Generic group, it is important to know and understand that the issue
could have been rectified by simply ensuring that the people are communicated the vision
properly so that they could understand it well. it was the lack of this understanding which
created all the conundrum and eventually led to all the drama that followed.
Communication is an important part of any vision and its proper implementation is much
needed. Once the matter is of communication is resolved, all things will start falling into
place and the problems that the group faced will reduce to a great extent. Further, to
control the situation well, it is advice that the vision itself is revised at the planning stage so
that the implementation can be more structured.

From the above discussion, we can understand that the formulating the right vision is
important for the success of any venture or organization. It is important to set up a plan for
the future where we can foresee what all is to be done and how it is to be done. This plan
