Introduction
The key to a healthy organization is maintaining order and effective communication. It is
very important to ensure proper communication between employees and managers to ascertain a
successful business. It engages in two kinds of communication, internal and external. I have
observed that in case of internal communication which involves the employees, it often leads to
conflict due to the difference in opinion. The focus of this presentation will be on the
effectiveness of communication and organizational management in order to solve disputes as
well as manage people.
Discussion
An organization comprises of people from varying backgrounds and perspectives to meet
a common goal. Employees of an organization function more like a backbone. Hence, I believe
that the environment and decorum of an organization should be maintained in order to function
efficiently.
Now I am going to talk about the aspect of organizational ethics.
The principles and guidelines which guide and govern the employees in an organization are
referred to as being the Organizational Ethics. This also includes the code of conducts and
behavior within the organization. as per my research work, these ethics can include a varying
range of policies which would decide the attitudes and responses of individuals so that no one
engages in any kind of unfair means or conflict to suit their interest(vans Gils et al., 2015). On
the other hand, I have identified that these ethics also ensure that the organization does not get to
exploit the employees or discriminate between them. These ensure safety amid hazardous

condition to the employees. However, I feel that all organizations meet ethical challenges within
their organization yet they strive to achieve a healthy and functional environment. A significant
structure and ethics within an organization is the key to a successful organization.
Hereafter I will be discussing the ethical ways of managing people.
Conflicts and disorder can arise within an organization but can be avoided by efficient means
of communication and management(Anderson, 2016). Hence, I feel that managers must opt for
effective strategies in order to manage and ascertain a sense of belongingness in every individual
while working together. It should also be ensured that employees engage in face to face
interactions with each other, in order to avoid conflicts. According to me, a manager must be
able to involve employees to work in teams and also make decisions wisely to avoid risks.

Now am going to highlight the postulates of my research on Telstra and its Organizational
Ethics
The chosen organization, Telstra, provides telecommunication in Australia and it
focuses on the standards of behavior that is expected from the people. as per my opinion,
they strive to maintain proper practices of business, workforce and corporate governance.
They also intend to comply with the legal obligations. The values of the company
include:
Care and Conpassion
Better Together
Trustworthiness
Simplifying the Complex
In search of Courage
They channelize all their employees to deliver high standards of business and personal
ethics which comply with their vison and committment. I believe that these provide
framework to support their business as well as meet their objectives.
Ethical Issues of Telstra
Telstra has made headlines for announcing its plan to reduce contractors and employees.
This is a part of the sweeping reform package. They plan to curtail their workforce by 8000. I
found that the number is quite astounding as it marks a massive reformation to reduce their cost
base but by putting their employees’ security at stake(Driskill, 2018). According to the statement
released by the HR, this plan has been strategized in order to cater to the customer and eliminate
engagements of lesser significance. They further claim to only retain a smaller and efficient force

which would enable them to cope up and handle the rapid changes of the industry to offer better
services to the customers.
I believe that the decision is a big blow to the ethical considerations of an organization.
The decision puts the structure at unrest with the enforcement plan of elimination of
employees(Anderson, 2016). The security of employees should also be prioritized apart from the
codes of conduct which are expected from them. The interests of the employees should also be
regarded highly otherwise it leads to similar situations of exploitation in order to benefit the
organization.
The next aspect that I am going to cover is the aspect of Overcoming Issues of
Organizational Management
In order to overcome the disputes and challenges within an organization, it is very
important to have the management working properly. As observed by me, the responsibilities
which the management must address and put to rights include:
Instilling a sense of belongingness: Telstra is weighing down on their employees with their
newer policies. This rigidity will worsen situations if not handled properly.
Assurance of security and flexibility: A company must also look after the interests of their
employees which Telstra has been compromising about. This makes the employees more
dedicated to their work and thus deliver better performance(Shin et al., 2015). As per my
analysis the decision taken by Telstra seems to be exploitative in nature and must be
addressed with corrective measures as they lack moral and ethical considerations.

Transparency: The employees of a company should not bekept blindfolded. Clear
communication can prove to be effective to overcome challenges and encourage employees
to partake in mutual growth.
In conclusion, I would like to state that a company must always have clear policies and efficient
leaders to manage the workforce and organization. Hence, I can conclude that a company should
also give considerable importance to the needs and interests of the employees rather than the
business growth. It should always be made sure that the contribution of the employees amount to
the collective growth of the company.
