Response to question 1
The sales culture of Inpace was shaped by Bodine as innovative, moving and cut-throat.
It can be considered as the pre-conventional level of ethical dilemma. The sales culture of the
company is highly competitive. It follows an autocratic leadership style. The employees of the
company are always in a vigorous competition with each other. They work hard in order to prove
themselves to the Kane Bodine. The entire working environment of the company is such that it
encourages the employees to strive for success. The employees in the organization compete with
each other and strive for win by any means. The employees remain always under the pressure of
the competitions. Thus often they develop a cutthroat behavior in them ignoring their own
original values. Employees in the Bovine’s organization mainly focus on the external rewards
which keep them motivated. More than performing for the interest of the company, the
employees work to prove themselves as best through competition. in order to avoid personal
consequences, the employees obey the authority. Kane Bodine by nature is an autocratic
manager. He possesses every skill and knowledge to elevate the performances of his employees
as per his expectation. Holding the position of the leadership in the company, Bodine possesses
expertise in the field of sales, he also encourages his all employees to do put the same effort,
rather encourage them to follow his path. He believes that competition motivates employees and
thus they will be encouraged to give their best in workplace. Therefore, he follows aggressive
business strategy. He pools a lot of good talents from the best universities. The new hires are
encouraged and nurtured to follow Bodine’s ideology of business especially, his sales strategies.
It is understood from the above case study that Bodine business strategy believes in the

capability of youth generation, their aggressiveness and their aggressive nature which he
tactfully uses.
Response to question 2
In the case study, Ali has been witnessed suffering from ethical dilemma. If I were in Ali
Sloan’s position I would prefer continuing my work on the given proposal and would showcase
the presentation on the next day. In case illegal and unethical practices, I would not complete my
assignment by means of unethical and illegal practices. In my point of view, Ali should
anticipate the possible insinuation of the action of Cody. Ali should also consider in deciding that
whether the she would be comfortable with the outcome which is possible. She might think that
it could have a strong negative impact on her conscience, in case of a bad outcome. As a result of
this, she failed to perform on it. Her own ethical standards should have been evaluated by herself
in order to take the best decision according to her own judgment. If there was an ethical
committee in the office, Ali should have gone there in order to make them aware of the situation.
If I were in Ali’s position and witnessed the same situation which Ali did, I would not intrude
into Cody’s matter, instead I would prefer to be more focused on my work. I would prefer to rely
on Bodine's decision as he is the business head. Reporting the matter to Bodine about Cody,
might have created consequences in case Bodine considers Cody’s action as to be justified. Ali
might have been misjudged by Bodine. On the other hand, if Ali preferred to be kept quiet
knowing that Cody was performing unethical practices, Ali might have been misjudged by his
authority to be supported the misdeeds. She might be alleged in future for not having informed
the autorities about the misdeeds. On moral grounds, it can be said that Ali should not support
such immoral activities. Therefore it can be suggested for him to keep silent.

Response to question 3
If Cody made a choice for Utilitarian approach, he would have not been in the post which
he is in with and the paper work might be appeared to be thought up illegally. Cody would have
been working on her assigned work like Ali was doing in order to present it on the next day
within the scheduled time.
In case, Cody made a choice for individual approach, he would work in order to gain
rewards as mentioned in the story. He would try securing his position in the number one position.
He would not consider anything or anyone apart from his own self and his rewards and
appraisals.
If Cody made a choice for practical approach, he would think from the ethical perspective
and work accordingly. The practical approach is refers to the process of thinking with the
principles of ethics, which have a direct effect on the company as well as on the people who are
involved in the whole process and especially the community. Cody would work on her assigned
work like Ali was doing in order to present it on the next day within the scheduled time.
