Selected incident
I used to work as a project manager in ABC company pvt. ltd., an apparel company,
where the organization was looking forward to undertake a fashion based project “fashionista”. I
was required to undertake the overall functions of the project relating to planning, organizing,
leadership and controlling of the different parameters. I noticed that there are different issues that
are faced by the employees while performing in a team due to lack of coordination and
cooperation among the members. In this situation, I took steps to interact with the employees and
thereby identify the issues, which helped me to formulate strategies of mitigating the issues that
are faced by the employees while working as a team. I planned to identify the issues and thereby
took steps to organize the workforce and motivate the same to achieve the common objective of
the business. The mitigation of the issues helped me to undertake the smooth performance of the
workforce aimed at achieving the objective of the project. Controlling the different risk factors
and the contingencies helped me to get the work done more systematically.
Analysis
The leadership role that I played as the project manager helped in the proper functioning
of the teams. The coordination of the team members played a major role in the accomplishment
of the project that was initiated by me. The different issues that are faced by the people while
working on the project is affected through the lack of coordination among the members of the
team. Therefore, I took steps to undertake interactions with the different employees and

formulating different strategies that will be helping the employees to function as per the needs of
the organization. On the other hand, the delineation of the goals helped me to make the
employees aware of the respective inputs that they were required to give to the success of the
project in the market. The interactions that I undertook with the team members helped me to
bring in changes in the different issues and thereby facilitate the smooth performance of the
teams as per the goals of the organization. The planning - organizing of the different resources
and the allocation of the job responsibilities among the team members helped me to achieve the

functioning of the workforce as per the objectives of the business in the market. The differences
in the approaches help in exemplifying the issues that are faced by the workforce and the manner
in which they are mitigated to enhance the performance of the employees. Bell and Martin
(2012) observed that the proper application of the theory on the model of the organizations helps
the same in bringing forth changes in the productivity and the situation of the business while
operating in the international markets.
Theory 2: Administrative Theory by Henri Fayol
The administrative theory by Fayol is focused on bringing forth changes in the theory

The planning stage helps in predicting the outcome of the management steps that are
undertaken by the organization (Huarng and Ribeiro-Soriano 2014). It helps in forecasting the
different risks that might be faced by the organization while undertaking the change in the
systems of the business. On the other hand, the organizing stage helps in maintaining the
different levels of change in the structure of the business to cope up with the different trends that
are prevalent in the market. Sapru (2013) stated that the commanding stage helps in
implementing the change in the systems through the orders that were placed over the employees.
Coordinating with the work force helps in bringing forth the change in the systems and the
performance of the workforce. It helps in enhancing the productivity of the organization.

Ehiobuche and Tu (2012) stated that unlike the Taylor’s management law Fayol’s law helps in
involving the workforce in the processes that are planned by the business. Controlling the actions
helps in maintaining the different elements of the change in the systems and thereby brings in
improvements in the organizational structure and performance.
Organization example
Uber has taken steps to implement the scientific theory in order to enhance the
productivity of the organization without considering the benefits of the employees. The different
key elements of the change in the structure and the performance of the business are dependent on
the productivity of the workforce (Canina, Palacios and Devece 2012). Therefore, the
organization stresses more on the economic enhancements other than the regarding the concern
for the employees in the market. According to an employee, the organization levies high pressure
on the employees to enhance their productivity without providing the employees with additional
monetary and other benefits, which demoralizes the efforts given by the employees Killen et al.
(2012).
Summary
Therefore, from the above analysis it may be stated that the identification of the
managme4net theory and the proper implementation of the same on the organizational structure
helps the organizations to bring in changes in the performance of their undertakings.
