Establishing and managing health and safety organizational process and workplace
operations is an effective way of protecting the most treasured assets, including customers and
employees. As a health manager, I would gather relevant data in regards to health and safety
requirement and legislation and communicate it to the workers, administration, and other
stakeholders. It is important to note that collection of information would involve reviewing of
past health and safety procedures, getting customers and workers views, and consultation of the
stakeholders. The health and safety information would also be obtained using the electronic
health records system, personal health records system as well health regulations and standards set
by the World Health Organization and other health and safety agencies (Hollnagel, 2018 p. 78). I
would collate or assemble, present, and utilize the data on health and safety risks control, trend,
and requirements. I would also ensure and facilitate workers participation in safety and health
management. Additionally, I would provide the workers with timely access to appropriate
information in regards to health and safety control.
I will provide the work teams with relevant health and safety programs and procedures to
create awareness among the workforce. The work team would also be provided with emergency
procedures, first aid stations locations and health and safety duties, including the responsibilities
specified by the healthcare legislation. These policies, programs, procedures, and legislation
would help the workers to do right things all times, therefore, avoiding unnecessary injuries
within the working environment. According to Hollnagel (2018 p. 32), provision of these
systems will also prevent confusion amidst the employees, therefore, promoting high-quality
services to the customers. On a similar note, provision of information attaining to a past hazard
assists the work team to shun the occurrence of such a risk again.

A safe workplace is more efficiently and effectively attained when everyone involved in
the healthcare communicates and coordinates with one each other to identify hazards and risks
that may impact the operation and service delivery. Consultative mechanism would aid me to
find solutions concerning health and safety of the customers and workers. Bizarrely, the
consultative mechanisms also can help in mitigating health hazards amidst the patients and
employees.
Subsequently, I would execute and monitor the various processes to ensure that health
and safety records are appropriately finished, gathered, and stored according to the workplace
procedures and legal requirement. The monitoring would be conducted regularly to establish
proper management rules. I would review the record keeping process and files to make sure the
legitimate condition is executed correctly. Additionally, I would prioritize on management
system deficiencies, risks, hazards as well as opportunities for improvements (Claxton, 2017 p.
236). Establishing objectives which provide the highest possibilities for safety and health
management and risks reduction would also be in my strategy of ensuring safety in the
workplace.
Most importantly, I would train the employees how to identify or detect and prevent risks
or hazards in the workplace. This would be followed by conducting inspections, collecting risk
control ideas, implementing risk control ideas, anticipating and addressing workplace
emergencies, and seeking input on changes in the workplace (Chia et al., 2015 p. 959). I would
ensure the organization is well prepared for emergencies and the employees can effectively
communicate and collaborate with another other in the event of care or emergency. In the same
vein, I would form and put into practice participative as well as consultative procedures to aid in
the identification of health and safety requirement. Each employee would have a chance to

contribute towards the decision-making process in regards to health and safety management as
well as decisions which impact their safety and health in the workplace.
Similarly, I would put in practice injury, incident, and hazard reporting and assessment
processes through forming an investigation workforce. This would effectively contribute towards
the developments of risks controls which are unswerving with the control hierarchy. The team
would be monitored to ensure it achieves the intended goal (McCaughey et al., 2014 p. 942). I
would also hire health and safety experts to induct and train the workers concerning how to
ensure safety and health in the workplace. Involvement of the stakeholders in decision-making
would also form a unique part of my management. The stakeholders, for example, would provide
the resources for the control of health and safety of both the workers and the customers. Lastly, I
would evaluate and correct the organizational security and health management system to ensure
that it corresponds to the needs of the workplace, workers and customers.
