Functional organization structure
Functional structure is used mainly by smaller firms that offer a limited line of products bec
it makes efficient use of specialized resources. And it makes supervision easier, since each
manager must be expert in only narrow range of skills. In addition, a functional structure m
it easier to mobilize specialized skills and bring them to bear where they are most needed.
As an organization grows, either by expanding geographically or by broadening its product
functional managers have to report to central headquarters; it can be difficult to get quick
decisions. It is often harder to determine accountability and judge performance in a functio
structure.

2.5 Explain the ways of managing stress and time for activities of your organization.
In my organization I use these ways to manage the stress and time for activities.
Stress management.
Stress management refers to the wide spectrum of techniques and psychotherapies
controlling a person’s levels of stress, especially chronic stress, usually for the purpo
improving everyday functioning.
Ways of managing stress.
Plan the time well.
Being more organized and planning in advance can help reduce stress. It gives y
overview of the things you need to do and helps you identify the tasks you need to comp
to achieve them. In our organization, we have good time management for every activity.
Exercise.
Exercise relieves stress in several ways. First, cardiovascular workouts stimulate b
chemicals that foster growth of nerve cells. Second, exercise increases the activit
serotonin and/or norepinephrine. Third, a raised heart rate releases endorphins and a ho
known as ANP, which reduces pain, induces euphoria, and helps control the brain’s respo
to stress and anxiety.
Get social support.
Call a friend, send an email. When you share your concerns or feelings with another pers
it does help relieve stress. But it’s important that the person whom you talk to is someon
whom you trust and whom you feel can understand and validate you.
Smile and laugh.
Our brains are interconnected with our emotions and facial expressions. When pe
stressed, they often hold a lot of the stress in their face. So laughs or smiles can help rel
some of that tension and improve the situation.
Sleep.
Everything breaks down when you don’t sleep well. Any sleep disturbance will dim
mental performance. Stress affects sleep and vice versa.
Avoid negative people.
Once the negativity is out there, it’s up to you to tell your brain not to dwell on it. And, w
if you’re like me, that cognitive exchange demands a lot of energy.
Meditate.
Meditation and mindful prayer help the mind and body to relax and focus. Mindfulness ca
help people see new perspectives, develop self-compassion and forgiveness.
