INTRODUCTION
Sustainability is one of the most common but important term in the business organization
which allow firm ensure they provide less impact over environment and nature. Sustainability is
key aspect which allow firm to enjoy continuous growth and stability, firm who practice
sustainability have ability to gain competitive advantages in the market because they focus on
creating brand image which rule over the industry. It also helps the company to gain consumer
attention towards their product which ensures long term profitability in the market. (Purvis, Mao
and Robinson, 2019). This report will discuss the concept of sustainability and its impact on firm
over long term competitive advantage with one example. At last this report will discuss the
attributes and the capabilities that are necessary for business success in a complex and changing
environment which leads to increase profits and strong brand image.

Critically discussing the concept of sustainability and its impact on the long term competitive
advantages for organization:
Sustainability is most common term in business world, this simply means taking measure
to manage environment and society. Firm to practice sustainability have higher chance to
become competitive in the market, sustainability simply mean working for societal development.
Many organization try to develop those products or try to develop those systems which allow
them to reduce carbon footprint over the world, certain type of manufacturing unit have become
highly advance allowing them to reduce carbon in the environment (Ruggerio, 2021). Taking
sustainability measure allow firm to create brand image and reputation in the market, consumer
are dependent on firm to develop those products and service to which have ability to reduce
environmental impact over the world and maintain level of ethical practice.
Apple today has made their goal to decrease carbon emission and is partnering with the
companies that shares the same values. They are using aluminium as their raw material instead of
the other materials offered in the market because it produces lower carbon emissions. Apply is
trying to build the strong brand image which totally relies on the renewable energy. Strong image
of the Apple has wider its consumer base In the market which in turn has increases the
profitability of the company. Business sustainability is achieved only through the proper

management and the coordination of the environmental, social and all financial concerns that
will ensure the responsible ethical success to the company (Son, I., and et.al., 2018).

in the complex and the changing environment-
Business must be updates according to the changes in the changing environment. The
attributes and the capabilities that are necessary for the success of the business are as follows-
Critical Thinking-
Critical thinking is the one skill that is very necessary for the success of the business.
Changing environment gives many opportunities to new as well as old companies (Alsaleh,
2020). These opportunities are the reason behind the success of companies today. Critical
thinking attribute of the business includes the decision-making process that allows the business
leaders to take initiatives and distribute resources. The ability to respond rapidly to the new
technology requires well-established critical thinking in the mind of the business leader. It also
related the ability of one to analyse the market to form the best decision for the business to
achieve its objective on the time.
The Management-
Managing all the resources in the organization is not an easy task. Managers should
develop all the process and plans according to the goals of the organization. It is very important
skill to lead human resource in the organization. The changing environment gives various
opportunities to the business which only requires the management skills. Improving management
skill will lead to the better communication and the collaboration with the other team members
that helps the organization in finding solutions and to achieve the goals of the organization on
time (Sainz, Ferrero, and Ugidos, 2019).
Leadership skill-
Leading organization for the successful business is very important today. Leadership skill
is more focused towards the people rather than the process. Strong leaders with the great vision
not only solve the problems occurring in the organization but will also facilities better teamwork
between the employees working in the organization. This leads to the effective communication
and increasing interpersonal skill that foster the better collaboration in the organization.
