INTRODUCTION
Business function can be defined as the activities which are performed by the companies.
It is conducted by the organizations in order to render the business activities structure which are
to be performed by the enterprises. Functions of the business are basically classified into two
aspects such as core function and the support function (Tyulin and Chursin, 2020). The following
discussion is based on the life cycle of products and are formed in four stages. Introduction is the
first phase which is followed by the growth and maturity along with the decline phase.
Moreover, it assist in formulating an appropriate pricing of the product and the advertising
activities as well. It basically helps the firm in decision making in regards with the product.
PART 1
Executive summary
This report is based on the case study of an organization named Original Creations. It
deals with the marketing activities of different life style products and services. It basically
market the products and services such as wearables of dogs and cats, making your own birthday
kits and an automatic air freshener bathrooms as well. The following discussion is based on the
various issues and solutions that are suffered by the company. Moreover, the current report also
provides the insight of benefits and de-benefits along with the time and cost analysis.
Introduction
The following report is based on the marketing of the various products related with life
styles and the organization serving such services is Original Creations. 10th product of the firm
has faced the huge failure which is the high matter of concern for the owner of the firm.
Moreover, the report also covers the discussion on the development of efficient working required
within the staff members.
Reason
Original Creations has the employees who are currently facing the problems while
working in the company. This is because the company is suffering the different issues because of
the unsuccessful projects. New product idea generated by the firm gets failed and due to which
the founder get disappointed due to such failure in the market place (He, Luo and Huang, 2019).
Moreover, firm is also suffering from various issues which are majorly associated with the
cultural differences and communication along with the language barrier due to the manufacturing

in different companies. This is creating the problem for the organizations as well as for the
employees to make the deal and interact with the native language. Other reasons due to which
the company is facing the failure. For example, low sales and large unsold stock as well.
Company is further facing the problems as they are getting huge number of complaints form
their customers due to low quality of the product. Furthermore, other complaints are related to
the goods damage also. This has resulted in the low sales of the company as compared to the
manufacturing cost and low return. This has led in the challenging market to survive in along
run. Therefore, it is important to handle all such complaints of the customer. But there are only
two customer servicing employees and are not able to solve the issues due to shortage of the
staff. Employees are majorly involved in the handling of the issues such as product queries and
non delivery along with the warranty and payments. Owner of the business usually targets on
innovations and brining up of the new ideas so that they can fight the competition in the market
place. They only focuses on the design of the product but they must also focus on manufacturing
process as well. They also face the problems in interacting with the customers of different
countries due to the language differences. This has resulted in the low demand of the product
because of which the firm is facing the problems in attracting and retaining the customers. As per
the case study, the company usually deals in the UK market instead of diversification of the
products in other market of the world. Another major issue which is faced by the firm is the
online presence via digital marketing platforms. This is issue is identified by the firm and has
started invested in these areas but then too facing the problems of having the strong presence in
the market place and that is why they are not able to reach the wide range of customers.
Company is facing a lot of problems in their product failure and the reason being is that the
company has faced the large failure in its 10th product. It is important for the company to find out
the ways in which these issued can be mitigated. This can help in large earning of the profits and
good market presence also. Therefore, the major problem is stated which is associated with the
linguistic barrier because of the existence of the China and other countries manufacturing areas.
Hence, it is needed to be mitigated and thereby firm is required to hire the diversified employees
so that the language differences can be reduces with proper communication flow inside and
outside of the company.

Business options
Do nothing option is one of the option. It states the business must not do anything due to
the unsuccessful projects and also have no idea of the improvement areas in products and
operations. Moreover, it is noted that the company cannot change the way of communication and
it creates the problems in interaction with the other countries and suppliers. This is an ineffective
communication which is the major issues identified in the Original Creations.
Do the bare minimum is an another option. It states that basic changes are required which
can resolve the current issues in the company. As per the case study, firm is requiring to change
the policies so that the communication pattern can be changed (Al Shamsi and et. al., 2020). this
must be the minimum change which is implemented after the proper understanding of the top
management so that they can resolve it on prior basis. Customers are highly dissatisfied with the
company due to the lack of dealing with other countries. This is creating the problems in
understanding each others perception towards the products and services. This action can help the
company in coping up with the situation and it must be completed on a timely basis. Moreover,
this option can help in working and communicating in an effective and efficient manner while
minimising the language and culture barrier.
Do something else is also an another option. It states that the company is requiring to
think about something which is out of the box. It must be creative and innovative which can
provide them with the unique resolution (Thatcher and Evia, 2017). This is the option which can
solve this problem on a permanent basis while marketing the product in an efficient manner. But
this option is highly time consuming which also needs the investment of cost as well.
Weight score card model is a technique of project management which assist in the project
in order to make decision in a proper manner. It further helps in examining the elements and the
project activities. It helps in choosing the best out of the options. As per the above discussion, the
selection is made form the analysis of the below table.

the minimum changes which can eliminate the risks associated with the communication and

Option 2 has several benefits and this is because it has the process which not only focuses
on the improvements but also on the development of new product design and which can
essentially help the firm in building up the communication with the suppliers and the
manufactures. It is significant for the firm to stay focused on the design of the of the product and
customer services (Squires, Sadarangani and Jones., 2020). This will help in the easy solving of
the issues and also can lead to the development of the sales and profit ratio also. Organization
has considered the major issue of product failure. That is why the customer serving team is
highly required for designing of the product for better enhancement.

The organization is highly willing to generate the better ideas for designing and also to
improve the customers servicing as well. Such methods are usually used to manage the problems
of the product failure. Therefore, it can be said that each and every person has assorted needs and
requirements (Yu and Shandu, 2017). Hence, this type of product development is unable to fulfil
the demands of the customers. Due to which the company needs to still work on the product
development and its designing.

Timescale is related with the overall time calculation which is taken by the investigator
for executing the project. All the actions are needed to be prepared according to the goals of the
business which must be aligned with the sub actions.

I have learnt about the leadership skills in the first week. It has helped in building up the
employability skills as well. This will not not help me developing professional behaviour but
also the personal behaviour as well. It has also taught me in learning the self assessment and the
concept of of emotional intelligence so that I can build them up for betterment in my behaviour.
It also includes the learning of the corporate culture as well. I have also learnt about the different
organisational structures in organizations along with the operations management and
transformational operations as well. Team building model that is the Tuckman model of forming
the stages of team is also learnt by me so that the team management and leadership activities
could be conducted by me in my future. Moreover, leadership is important for every individual
to learn so that they can manage the individuals and also the entire team as well. I have learnt
many things from this week about the leadership qualities and skill so that it can not only help
me in my professionalism but also in my better standard of living as well. Personally, I really
liked the sessions as it has motivated me a lot ans taught good about leadership.
I have learnt about the various structures of organization in companies and also the
operations management so that the transformational operations can be carried out. Moreover,
implications and servicing along with the product knowledge is also gained by me in week 2 of
the lectures. I have discovered a lot of strategies based on the organizational structure and learnt
about what can be suitable for which type of organization. I have gained the in depth knowledge
about the management and operations which has further assisted me in gaining the research skills
and cognitive skills. Technical skills are also gained by me in the form of information and
communication technology as well. Moreover, analytical skills are also developed in me while
studying the organizational structure and leadership because it contains the calculation of budget

and expenses so that the efficient operations can be carried out. Furthermore, I have gained the
insight knowledge about the entire business functions and management along with the expertise
of each and every department such as finances and marketing along with the sales and human
resources which is followed by the technology and many more. All such departments in the
business organization has core functions where I have learnt about the business management as a
whole.
I have learnt about analysing the operations and the operational strategy of the
organization. This is because it includes the total quality management and just in time
management as well. I have also gained the knowledge about the project management as well.
All such areas includes volume and variety along with the variation and visibility areas for better
understanding of the project undertaken by me in future analysis. Moreover, I have also learnt
about the different types of services and product along with the production systems and standards
which is followed by the materials and scheduling or controlling activities of the project. Project
management methodology is very important to learn either in a theoretical manner or in a
practical manner. This is because it gives the knowledge about each and every stage that must be
followed for the successful implementation of the project in an effective and efficient manner. I
have learn all such techniques and now I can apply in any real time project management either in
the company or in an individual manner.
I have learnt about objectives ad benefits of the project management and also learnt about
the success and failure of the project management. Case study is being studied by me so that the
business knowledge can be gained in a practical manner. Moreover, I have learnt about various
methods and techniques of project management along with its suitability so that it can be applied
in the actual time undertaking of the project in future. Furthermore, there are various academic
and professional skills along with the personal skills which are highly essential for an individual
to gain so that I can seek hike in my career growth and development for better standard of living
in future. It helps in maintaining the personality of a person which must be basic in behaviour
and values along with the beliefs and cultures or background. I have learnt verbal as well as the
written communication skills in the form of classroom discussions and presentation along with
the report writing. I have also learnt about the numeracy which includes the data and statistics.
Moreover, information and communication technology is also improved due to the use of
Microsoft office program during the entire sessions. Furthermore, problem solving behaviour is

also gained by me while gathering the information and its analysis as well. Team experience is
also gained by me while studying the team management and working with other with proper
coordination and corporation with each other.
