AI Summary
This report, created for the OTHM Level 3 Business Studies program, delves into the concepts of learning styles and multiple intelligences. It begins by highlighting the significance of individual learning differences and the importance of understanding one's own learning style for effective learning and career development. The report differentiates between multiple intelligences, as proposed by Howard Gardner, and learning styles, citing theories such as Honey and Mumford's learning styles (Activist, Theorist, Pragmatist, and Reflector). The author analyzes their own preferred learning style and multiple intelligences, identifying strengths and weaknesses. The report concludes by emphasizing the importance of self-awareness in the learning process and its implications for academic success. The report includes references to academic sources supporting the concepts discussed.

INTRODUCTION
Every child is different for other student because of their abilities. Some of them are
multiple intelligence which refers to a theory that tells every children has their own capabilities
to learn or understand something (D'Angelo and et. al., 2018). It is very important for the student
that they should develop multiple intelligence in the person which assist in career development.
This report shows the importance and types of multiple intelligence.
MAIN BODY
It is identified that every person has their own perception and learning style. Every
person has brain but use of brain is in the hands of person and it depends on their own style. It is
very important for a student that they know their own learning ways because it help in effective
learning. It is necessary for every human being because their ways of learning are different from
person to person. One thing that should be clear in the mind that learning style is not same as the
multiple intelligence (Reynolds and et. al., 2021). It is analysed that every person thought that
both are same but it is a misconception that should be clear so that they can effectively achieve
their target with the use of learning. Multiple intelligence is the intellectual abilities whereas
learning styles is the particular way of learning. Multiple intelligence is broader term it includes
learning ways. It can be further explained with the help of theories such as Honey and Mumford
which helps to understand the learning style.
Honey and Mumford learning style developed by Peter Honey and Alan Mumford in
which they identified mainly four styles such as Pragmatist, Activist, Reflector and Theorist. Its
is identified that these styles are helpful in understand of own style. The main purpose of this
theory are to understand learning style and find out the opportunities to learn these styles. It is
very important for the person who wants to know their learning styles (Brualdi Timmins, 1996).
Learning styles are very necessary to understand because it helps in taking right decisions. This
theory is the inspiration from Kolb's learning theory. This theory focus on knowing the learning
theory of each and every person. They consider mainly four theories that should be analysed for
getting knowledge. Activists are the person who learn things when they are self doing. That
means they can understand the thing when firstly use them. In this style they are learn
brainstorming, role-play, problem solving, puzzles, group discussion, competitions, etc.
Theorists are the person who are always require some material such as models, ideas, etc. These

type of person are always need some hypothesis to understand the things. Pragmatist are the
person who always focus on practical applicability of the things. That means they are the person
who has capacity to perceive things and they have a capability to practice into reality. Whereas
reflectors are those person who learn things by watching and contemplating. They like
personality questionnaires, feedback from others, paired discussions, interviews, time out, self-
analysis questionnaires, observing activities, coaching, etc. After the brief discussion of learning
style that it can be analysed I used to prefer theorist learning style in which I used some models
and background information of the topic.
Multiple intelligence is the theory that developed by Howard Gardener who was the
psychologist of Harvard in 1983 (Smith, 2002). He established that human intelligence bodily-
kinesthetic, visual-spatial, naturalistic, musical-rhythmic, intrapersonal, verbal-linguistic,
logical-mathematical and interpersonal. This theory was established for analysing the different
ways of learning by students. It is crucial to understand for the person so that they can use their
intelligence. Multiple intelligence is refers to a intellectual ability which every person posses that
depends on person to person. This theory helps to understand that people have many abilities in
their own behaviours such as linguistic intelligence, musical, spatial-visual and interpersonal. It
can be better understand with the helps of explanation. Visual-spatial intelligence are those who
have good skills of visualizing things. They are the person who write and read for enjoyment,
they are good at interpret graphs and pictures. Linguistic verbal intelligibly are good at
remembering spoken and written activities. Logical-Mathematical are good at their mathematical
logics such as reasoning and analysing problems. Bodily Kinesthetic are those who have good
knowledge at performing actions, body movements, etc. Musical intelligence are good at musical
activities such as sounds, rhythms and patterns. Interpersonal are the person who have interacting
and understanding with people. Intrapersonal intelligence are good at motivations, feelings and
emotional states. Naturalistic intelligence are more concerned with nature such as biology,
zoology and botany, biology.
After understanding of musical intelligence and their eight types that I have logical-
mathematical intelligence because I am good at logical reasoning. It is the interest part of my
studies. Learning style and multiple intelligence is very important for the study because it helps
to make the process easy and every person able to do effective learning. A person should know
their own learning styles so that they can achieve their desired targets. It plays a significant role
Document Page
in the career development. It is analysed that a person should know their strengths and weakness
so that they can build learning style according to them. So I analysed that I have positive attitude
which helps in grasping new learning styles. But the main weakness which I analysed that I lack
in explain to other person. Strengths and weakness are very important because it helps in finding
best learning style and multiple intelligence (Bajaj and Sharma, 2018). It is very crucial for the
person that they should know their inner capabilities so that they can take decisions regarding
learning style. If a person know their learning styles then they can achieve their goals.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded from the above discussion that learning style and multiple intelligence are
different. It is very important to know their separate meaning so that individual can understand
the meaning of learning styles. With the use of effective learning style and multiple intelligence
it becomes very helpful in studying.
