INTRODUCTION
Organizational communication refers to the forms and channels of communication in
which organizations basically includes internal and external facing communication. These
organizations can be corporations, governmental bodies and non-profits organization.
Organizational communication plays a significant role at organizational level because on the
basis of this communication team members can work into effective and into result-oriented
manner as well(Hällgren and XYGKOGIANNI., 2015). In the present report, Brit-tech is taken
into consideration. Brit-tech is a company which operate across the wide range of industries
which offers products and services that transforms old business models or create new models
which transforms the whole industry. The present report will cover discussion about general
theories of communication and also about the barriers of communication which employees made
unwilling to return to the office. In addition to this , the report will cover analysis about Bri-tech
strategies to overcome from these barriers.
MAIN BODY
Discuss general theories of organizational communication
Organizational communication is very important because it not only exchanges the
information and messages among employees or team members but it also build a strong bond
and trust among the team members. There are certain general theories of organizational
communication and it is defined into the following manner:
Theory of Bureaucracy: This theory basically developed by Max Weber which
exemplifies about the ideal form of organization and also exhibits the higher level of
formal structure (Awuzie and Abuzeinab., 2019). This theory basically follows the
hierarchical approach of communication where organizational members have to report to
those who are above them until the communication reaches to the top level.
Acceptance theory of authority: This theory was first proposed by Chester Barnard ad
this theory come to organizational communication from the school of human relations. It
is important for organizational communication because it does not only stress on the
requirement to acquaint all organizational members with effective channels of

communication. It also underlines the significance of channels into formal manner of
channels of communication to connect all the organizational members.
General systems theory: This theory basically provides the natural avenue in terms of
investigating the functions of organization and relationships as well. It views the
organization as a system which is basically composed of many subsystems whose
interlocking and interdependent parts are held together by communication.
In context to Bri-tech company, they have followed theory of bureaucracy where communication
have been done through hierarchical level(Hargie and et.al., 2017). As there are lots of
employees at organizational level so they have to communicate with their seniors into effective
manner in order to convey information into result-oriented manner. So these theories act as
support system in terms of executing tasks into effective manner at organizational level.
Examine the communication barriers which made employees unwilling to return to the office
There are certain barriers of communication which made employees unwilling to return
to the office and it is explained into the following manner:
Physical Barriers: This is a barrier where people can’t interact into physical manner
with other people specially in the pandemic situation it is difficult to communicate with
each other. In context to Bri-tech company, employees of the organization can’t interact
with each other into physical manner which negatively impacts the inter relationship
among employees in the pandemic situation.
Emotional Barriers: In the case of pandemic situation, employees feel depressed from
mental perspective because most of the people have lost their jobs and can’t make proper
interaction with other people. Due to this reason as well employees have to face barrier in
terms of communication(Mburugu., 2015). In context to Bri-tech company, with the
effect of pandemic situation, employees feel depressed because they can’t communicate
into effective manner with their customers from perspective of business.
Cultural Barriers: This is the main barrier of effective communication because there are
employees who have come from different cultural backgrounds and if organization don’t
have any idea of effective communication then it is difficult to run the business. In
context to Bri-tech company, if they don’t have proper strategy of communication and

have no deeper analysis about employees working in their company then it is difficult for
the company to do communication into effective manner. So its important for an
organization to do proper research about different cultures and the ways of tackling
different people at organizational level.
So these are the barriers which Bri-tech company has to face which made employees unwilling
to return to their offices from perspective of work.
Outline Bri-tech strategies to overcome from these barriers
There are certain strategies which Bri-tech can adopt from overcoming these barriers and
it is defined into the following manner:
For overcoming the physical barriers, they can find out alternative ways to interact through video
calls and conferences and can also arrange zoom meetings for experiencing the real life
interaction into effective manner(Henriksen and et.al., 2017). This can be specially done in the
pandemic situation. For overcoming the emotional barriers, they can remain in touch with their
friends and colleagues through messaging apps, social media platforms and through calls as well
so that they can communicate their real situations to their loved ones. Cultural barriers at
organizational can be overcome through deeper analysis and research about their employees so
that they need not to face challenges into the context of communication with their people
working at organization.
There are also another ways or strategies to overcome from these barriers. First of all
organization has to make ideas before communicating into effective manner and ensuring about
the proper time of communication also help in terms of removing the barriers of communication.
Organization has to set a particular language for purpose of communication among employees so
that every kind of people can interact easily with each other(Griffin and et.al., 2020).When people
are from different backgrounds then use of common language help in terms of making the
effective communication and also develop trust on higher level as well. So by following these
strategies, Bri-tech company can overcome the barriers of communication into effective manner
at organizational level.

CONCLUSION
The above stated report concludes that organizational communication plays a significant
role in terms of running the organization into effective manner. There are certain theories of
communication which help in terms of doing communication into result oriented manner. There
are different kinds of barriers of communication which made employees unwilling to return to
their workplace. These barriers can be emotional barrier, physical barrier, cultural barrier,
attitudinal barrier etc. These are the barriers which create hindrance in terms of achieving tasks
into accurate manner. There are certain strategies which can be adopted for overcoming from the
communication barriers. So its important that organizational communication should be done into
effective manner so that the organization tasks and objective can be achieved into successful
manner.
