This is an appeal to the people of Sri Lanka in relation to
the current terrorist attacks being occurred in the Colombo city
and disturbed the peace of nation. Cinnamon Grand Hotel shows
concerns with the disaster and looks forward to ensure safe and
secure Sri Lanka and its Tourism as well as provide its customers
with best offered packages and services.
LO 2 Challenges and barriers to effective communication
Challenges and barriers in the communication leads to various
complications and problems in Cinnamon Grand Hotel. It
decreases an mutual understanding between two persons and can
result in poor performance of Cinnamon Grand Hotel's
employees due to less communication with the manager of the
Hotel. The following are the few communication barriers-
Linguistic Barriers- Language is an important tool to
communicate and exchange the words between two
persons. There are different languages of people varying
from country to country and hence understanding cross
country language is difficult for any individual.
Cinnamon Grand Hotel has to face the language barriers
and understanding while communicating with the local
people(Fischer and et.al., 2016).
Perceptual barriers- Perception refers to the way of
thinking by a person(Clarke and et.al., 2019). As in case
the wrong perception by the people of Sri Lanka for its
safety and security will affect the decision making
regarding the Resort opening by the management team.
Attitude barriers- The Introvert component in the minds
LO 3 Strategies for overcoming communication barriers
The following are the different strategies that can be used
to overcome the communication barriers-
Eliminating the difference in perception- The
Cinnamon Grand Hotel is planning to open and set up a
new resort has to change the perception in the minds of
people regarding the safety and security of the place due
to the current attacks from terrorists. This will be done by
properly explaining the various activities and plan that
will ensure the safety of people from different
complications.
Proper media selection- Media is the best way to
communicate with the people and media can change the
people's perception regarding the safety issues and
security at the resort. Thus, the Cinnamon Grand Hotel
will make a proper use of media for its resort promotion.
Collect the relevant information- By collecting and
analysing the information related to the safety measures
and security of the resort will attract the stakeholders
related to this project leading to its success.
