INTRODUCTION
The term organisational communication is referred as the various channels and forms of
communication in which the organisations and corporations such as, non-profit, government bodies
involve. This includes both the internal communications that occur in the organisation and external
facing between the organisations. The organisational Barriers are present within the organisational
policy, rules, structure and facilities etc. The communication barriers effect the productivity of the
organisation along with the functional ability as it made the communication process difficult and
complex (Garland Irby 2019). This report will include the evaluation of general theories of
organisational communication and the various barriers which can discourage the students from
studying abroad. Along with that, the various strategies that has implemented to overcome these
barriers will also be discussed.
MAIN BODY
General theories of organisational communication.
Organisational communication Theory-
The Theory of Bureaucracy was formed by German sociologist Max Weber to represent an ideal
organisational form that is, an organization exhibiting a good level of formal structure. In terms of
communication, the explanation assumes as hierarchic formulation where each organisational
member reports to one above him/her until the communicating reaches the top command. Reported
to the explanation, ideal organizations should presume an non personal structure and have a broad
set of rules not only to power emotional-oriented actions of individual that causes them to respond
without reasoning and erratically, but also to defend common workers from ill-treatment of
powerfulness by those in the upper structure.
Acceptance theory of Authority
This theory of communication was established in 1938 by Chester barned, in the book written by
him. Including the major contributions, he included that three functions which are served by the
informal organisation are refereed as communication, Maintenance of cohesiveness in the business
and the organisation and the maintenance of feelings of dignity and self-respect. This theory also
provided a bottom-up explanation of Top level management and the communication process, which
suggests that the executives should be accountable in all forms. The theory comes to the various
forms of communication from the human Relations school as it is important for all the organisation

to promote the effective communication so as to increase the formal channels of communication to
connect all the organisation as a whole.
General system theory
This theory was formed by Biologist Ludwig von Bertalanffly in 1937, This theory defines the same
kind of communication exchange that can occur within the organisation and also transpire between
the external environment (Nicoara and Economopoulos 2021). This theory is considered as an
important theory as it highlights the importance of feedback during the process of communication
and also the capacity to influence the people regarding the exchange of communication inside the
organisation.
Theory X and Theory Y
This motivational theory was provided by Douglas McGregor which is based on straight opponent
assumptions of human nature. In his theory, McGregor not only defines the improvement of self-
power, advance creativeness, and acknowledge people as the greatest asset of the project, but also
imply that workers should be rewarded on the basis of their performance and contribution toward
the accomplishment of goals which were set by the organisation instead on the basis of individual
goals.
Theory of corporate colonization
This theory was established by Stanley deetz, which is related with the purpose to demonstrate The
corporate sector involvement in the primary institution of the United states society, this theory states
that the capacity to participate in the fully functional organisation and it also describes the
organisational communication and critical perspectives which are important to maintain the
effective communication within the organisation so as to create the balance.
Students have to face many difficulties when they go abroad for their studies, they have to face
many barriers while studying which are listed below:
Managing Finances is Difficult-Doing study in abroad is very costly, students need make a
proper plan before going abroad for study. Along with study cost is different in every
country, so they need to make proper planning and manage their work according to them
(Plews Misfeldt and Kirumira 2018). Although many students doing part- time job to
manage their expenses.
Language Barriers-Different country have different language and culture, so students have
to face difficulty to speak fluently, because they fell more comfortable when they speak their
own languages to compare the other language, although they find hard to clearly understand
that what their native are try to saying. Sometime they fell demotivated because of this.

Feeling Homesick- It is very common when any person is far away from their loves ones,
family and friends, so they will affect immensely when they bored. Along with they take
times to adapt the changes, so students need to try and stay active when they feel lonely,
because this thing helps them to handle the tough situation.
Feeling lost in foreign land- Students fell lost, lonely and depressed when they live in
different countries, because thy don’t know anyone, they feel demotivated herself. So handle
this situation they need to make sure they learn foreign language and try to communicate
with the people and make new friends to build their confident.
Making friends is difficult- Making friend is not a easy task, especially when people are
from diverse culture and religious background and speaking different languages. So student
face difficult to communicate with them. Although they are not able to identify the different
people mind-set, there is positive or negative.
My university has opted various strategies to overcome the barriers faced during the
admission, communication and other terms so as to make I easy and convenient for the students to
take admission in the University. There are lot of issues which can be faced by the students at the
time of joining the University, Studying Abroad is a dream of many students so that they can build
their future in an effective way and they can also achieve their personal and professional goal.
Barriers are the problems and obstacles that stops the individual from pursuing anything. These
barriers hamper the productivity and also Affect the functional ability as well. The University is
considered as a path to pursue various courses and degrees so that students can enhance their
p[resent skills and work more on their weaknesses which can be helpful for them in accomplishing
their goal as well as providing them various advantages such as, International recognition of the
Degree, Increase of the social network, Improving the efficiency and also managing different
aspects of the working and learning capacity of the students so that they can increase their good
learning skills by promoting qualities and traits which can further increase their confidence(Weber
2019). By implementing different strategies to overcome the barrier, it can be helpful for the
students to join the university and involve in various programs, given below are some of the
Strategies which are opted by the university to overcome these Barriers

The University has implemented various changes in its courses and facilities so that more
and more students can be engaged in the university programs and they can also suggest other
students and their find to take admission so as to maintain the well-known reputed position of the
University.
Offering Scholarships
The University has also offered various scholarship programs so that they can increase the
ongoing Admission demand and It can also promote different students to take admission in the
University on the basis of Scholarship which can also be helpful in the Reduction of Tuition fee
amount and even the Fee is also reduced up to a great extent.
Organising Events and Programs
The University also promote various programs and events so that the students from different
cultures and background can take active part in them and they can also promote the sociality as
various students will come in contact with each other so that they can develop a sense of
Confidence and motivation to communicate with other and being open up with them.
Providing Academic efficiency
The University is providing different forms of Academic skills and helping The students to
keep in track their Academic record and being effective enough to improve their skills for the
Betterment of their students, along with various group activities and team work projects where
knowledge and exchange of ideas can take place which can help the students to get more
comfortable and fluent enough to communicate and manage their tasks on time.
CONCLUSION
The Above report went into detail with various complex issues such as effective communication and
barriers to communicate as well as the discouragement faced by the Students at the time for opting
Abroad studies. Furthermore, Various communication theories were explained a including The
different barriers that the students can face in managing their work efficiency and communication
skills with other people in the university. Along with that, the strategies and programs opted and
implemented by the universities were highlighted so that the discouragement of students can be
solved in context to studying Abroad.
