INTRODUCTION
Business analysis is considered as a research conducted on identifying how external and
internal environment of business is affecting its operational functionality (Elfahmi, Chandrarin
and Manan, 2021). Analysis of external and internal environment of business is very necessary
in order to identify how business is performing and what changes it need to make in their
operational functionality. In this report, University of Oxford is taking into consideration which
was established on 1096 having headquartered in England, United Kingdom. This report will
consider how external and internal environment is affecting business by using PESTLE and
SWOT analysis. A suitable recommendation and conclusion will be given at the end (Prajogo
and et.al 2018).
MAIN BODY
PESTLE analysis
Political- Government of various countries like United Kingdom and USA provide
financial support to students in order to provide education to them. Scholarship or
financial support is provide to only meritorious students so that they can take education in
these countries very well (Nguyen and et.al 2019). Purpose behind giving financial aid
because education in these countries are very expensive and parents of every children
cannot afford such education.
1. Positive impact- Due to this decision students can take admission in Oxford University
easily without spending so much money.
2. Negative impact- This financial support is only for meritorious students. Hence those
students who are not meritorious in rank cannot take advantage of this financial aid by
government.
Economic- In education industry, there are several students who do not have strong
financial background to take education in United Kingdom and other countries. Therefore
in order to cope up with this problem government of UK is planning to advice colleges or
universities to lower down their fees up to some extent which enable students of poor
financial background to easily take education in colleges or universities.
1. Positive impact- This will enable students of poor financial background to easily take
education from mentioned college.

2. Negative impact- Profits of Oxford University will reduce up to some extent due to
reduction in fees. Moreover, status of college will also affect in negative way because
poor students will come and study in college.
Social- Nowadays several parents wants to send to their kinds to abroad or another
countries for taking higher education. This will help students to take better education
which will help them to achieve goods heights in their career.
1. Positive impact- With this factor, several students from different countries can some to
study in mentioned college. Hence it will help to rise in profits of college.
2. Negative impact- Students from different countries and cultures will come in given
college. Hence this will create chaos between students which negatively affect the
environment of college.
Technological- During corona virus pandemic several colleges have shifted from
classroom teaching to online classes via several platform such as google meet, zoom
meeting application and many more. Hence this has enable students to take education
during this pandemic time.
1. Positive impact- With this students can take their classes easily sitting at their home with
a proper device either laptop or phone and reliable internet connection.
2. Negative impact- To facilitate proper online teaching system, colleges will have to spend
lot of amount on digital devices such as webcams and many more which will increase
cost of mentioned college.
Legal- In education industry, there is an act known as UK's Equality act 2010, which
enables students with disabilities to get admission in both public and private colleges.
This act enables students with physical disabilities to get education like normal students.
1. Positive impact- With this act physically challenged students can take their education in
mentioned college easily like normal one. This will help to rise in profits of colleges.
2. Negative impact- Physically challenges students cannot participate in games and other
physical activities. Due to which, it is difficult for college professors to give ranks to
physically challenges students.
Environmental- Different colleges in education industry, spend lot of amount on

of their business line. Where in internal environment it provide wide variety of courses and has
well qualifies staff due to which students get good exposure while communicating and learning
from teachers. Hence this would help given college to expand their business operations easily
(Simula and Vuori, 2019).
Recommendation
On the basis of above report, it has been recommended to management of college that
they should go further regarding expansion of their college campus in another cities of United
Kingdom. There are several things which should be taken into consideration by management
while expanding such as- They should follow all environmental laws while operating their
campus in another city which would help in avoiding legal complexities and increase goodwill in
market. They should increase their staff in order to clearly focus on performance of each and
every student. If management of college follow these suggestion then it would be easy for
college to expand their business operations (Mamabolo, 2020).

On the basis of above report it has been discussed that internal and external environment
of business plays a very important role in operational functionality of business. Clearly analysis
of these environment help an organisation to take appropriate decision for effective and efficient
working of an organisation. In this report, it has been discussed PESTLE analysis and SWOT
analysis for evaluating environment of business and what sort of decision does management of
an organisation should take while expanding their operations in another cities.
