Practical Assignment
AI Summary
This assignment demonstrates the configuration of an IoT smart office network using Packet Tracer. It details the setup of a wireless network with a registration server and various smart IoT devices, including their connection and control via a web browser on a tablet. The configuration involves setting up the wireless router with a specified SSID and password, configuring the IoT devices to connect to this network, and creating an account on the registration server for remote access. The assignment further illustrates how to control these devices remotely from a smartphone connected to a different wireless network, using the registration server's web interface. Additionally, it demonstrates the use of ICMP packets to test the connection between devices and the registration server, showcasing the network's communication protocols. The document also includes a Packet Tracer file and a bibliography referencing relevant literature on IoT simulation tools and network architectures. Desklib offers a wealth of study resources, including similar assignments and past papers, to aid students in their learning journey.

2. i. Smart IoT Device configuration
The wireless router is named “OfficeNetwok” and the student ID is used as the password
for connecting the smart IoT devices with the wireless router. The IP address of the registration
server is used for the creating a new account and the IoT devices are managed from that account
by logging into the registration server using the student ID as username and password.

ii. Connecting the IoT devices using student ID as username and password
The browser is opened from the tablet to find the status of the smart IoT devices
connected in the network and the IP address of the registration server is used for logging into the
account.

4. Demonstrating the protocol used for transmission of simple PDU from the tablet
to registration server
ICMP packets are sent from the smart phone to the registration server for testing the
connection between the devices. The hops used for reaching the targeted destination can be
identified from the PDU option in the packet tracer.
