1ANALYSIS OF PALESTINE
Palestine is commonly known among the readers to be one of the regions in the
Middle Eastern part of the world itself. It is mainly located in the Western part of Asia and is
said to include the parts of Israel, the West Bank, and the strip to Gaza and also includes the
parts of Jordan and the other countries itself. The region is said to have been controlled by
many different cultures including the Egyptians, the Babylonians, the Greeks, the Mongols,
and the British and in the present times, by the Israelis, the Egyptians and the Palestinians as
well. The concept of the religion and the politics have played a very important role in the
country since the ancient times to the present day itself. There are three ways for this – the
rise of the HAMAS, the dissatisfaction of the people against the nationalist policy of Israel
and the decline in power of the left-wing parties in the country itself. It is because of this that
the people of the country much importance to the concept of the religion and politics in the
country itself.
The purpose of this essay is to discuss how the relation between the politics and
the religion is impacting the political participation in the civil society in the country of
Palestine.
Before analysing the political and the religious situation in the country of Palestine
itself, it is important for the readers to know about the political situations in the country of
Palestine itself. It is known to the readers that Palestine is a country which have had
controversial political situations since the time the country had become an independent
country itself. This is because of the fact that there were political tensions between the
countries of Israel and Palestine (Lust, 2016). There have been many cases of violence
between the two countries which have led to the loss of the lives of a number of innocent
civilians in this matter. Hence, it can be said that the subject matter of the politics plays a
very important role in the country of Palestine. Religion is said to be another of the major

Muslim religious group named HAMAS. HAMAS has not only been playing an important
role in the subject matter of the politics of the country but also had been playing an increasing
role in the subject matter of the politics of the country as well. It becomes clear to the readers
that in the recent years, the religious and the political situations in the country of Palestine
has changed mainly due to the increasing number of Muslim Palestinians in the country itself.
The Muslim majority has been made possible owing to the increasing influence due to the
presence of the religious and the political group HAMAS and the influence which they
present to the country in the field of the religion and the politics of the country itself (Lust,
2016). HAMAS has also resorted to various activities to force or to compel the people of the
country of Israel to adapt the religion Islam themselves. This had been done by the religious
group in the country not only by launching deadly attacks against the country of Israel itself.
These cases of violence include the HAMAS carrying out deadly suicide missions in the
mosques of the country. This influence by the HAMAS, although initially had stayed away
from the political situations of the country in the beginning stages, they used the non-violence
techniques to target the people of Israel, as they were of the opinion that this wold not violate
the laws of the Oslo, which they tried to follow (Lust, 2016).
The concept of the religion and the politics of the country has been mentioned in this
case because of the increasing influence of the group named HAMAS in the country itself. It
is because of the policies adapted by the group for the complete Muslimization of Palestine
that has led to the group getting a lot of supporters for themselves in the country itself (Lust,
2016). Moreover, the supporter members of HAMAS also believed in the subject matter
which helped them to win the national elections in the country itself. This is evidenced by the
fact that the HAMAS has won the municipal elections in the country in the year 2005, while
at the same time, they also had won the legislative elections in the country in the year 2006.

All these factor have definitely changed the outlook of the politics and the religion in the
country of Palestine as all these measures by the HAMAS have successfully managed to
change the country into a primarily Muslim country for the people who live in the country
itself.
The concept of the political participation of the people of the Palestine is also
something which needs to be mentioned in this concept as this will help the readers of the
essay to understand the subject matter of how politics and religion is getting impacted in the
country itself. The political participation can be used to consider the various ways in which
the country motivates its people to participate in the political actions of the country itself
(Lust, 2016). This can be mainly evidenced from the subject matter of the majority of the

action of the HAMAS in the country has led to the people of the country converting
themselves to Islam and it becoming one of the most dominant forms of religion in the
country itself. Therefore, it can be said that the increasing influence of the HAMAS in the
country itself has led to the people of the country lending their support to the HAMAS and
the country itself becoming a Muslim majority country in the true sense of the term in the

country itself (Lust, 2016). Hence it can be said that the politics and the religion in the
country of Palestine are getting impacted with each other due to the influence of the HAMAS
in the country of Palestine itself.
When analysing the subject matter of the ways in which in which the country of
Palestine impact the religion in the country itself, it can be said by there are three main ways
in which the politics and the religion of the country of Palestine are impacting each other in
the country of Israel itself.
The first is the presence of HAMAS in the country of Palestine. It is being said by the
experts themselves that the presence of HAMAS in the country itself had led to the change in
the religious attitudes of the people in the country itself. It is because of such changes in the
religious attitudes in the country itself that the Muslim majority plays an important role in the
functioning of the country itself (Lust, 2016). Thus, it is the influence of this groups and the
actions which they implement in the country which lead to the change of the religion in the
country itself. In addition to this, the violent attacks of HAMAS on Israel and other countries
also formed one of the main reasons for the people of the country converting themselves to
the religion of Islam
The second way for the impact between the religion and the politics is the actions of
HAMAS on the country of Israel itself. The experts in this case state the fact that the
dissatisfaction of the people on the nationalist policies of the country of Israel had led to the
people of the country reacting to such laws as a result of which HAMAS cane into power
itself. This forms the second reason for the impact of politics and religion itself.
The third and the final way is the decline in the power of the left wing parties in the
country of Palestine itself. It was the presence of the HAMAS which ultimately led to the

decline of the left wing which ultimately led to the group gaining the political power in the
country itself (Lust, 2016).
Thus, from the above discussions, the facts can be concluded that the country of
Palestine had a long history with the religion and politics itself. The presence of the various
political parties in the country itself had led to them influencing the people of the country to
follows the religion which have been stated by them to the people of the country. It is because
of these reasons that the politics and the religion of the country is said to impact each other.
