INTRODUCTION
A study shows that the parents who are involve in the curriculum activities of the children tend
to have higher self esteemed children as compared to the children who have the non participating
parents (Dorouka and et. al., 2020). This project portfolio covers methods to engage parents in
learning system.
MAIN BODY
The foremost right includes the right of participation of the parents at the school so that they can
help their children in various activities and functions, thereby leading to communicate with the
teachers so that the children are given the guidance for managing they work and many other
commitments. Right to participation can be used by the parents by getting involved in the
activities of children such as in drawing or painting so that a home like feel can be given to the
children in their early childhood.
Another right given to the family as well as parents of the children regarding the contribution in
the curriculum of the early childhood is to provide pick and drop services to the children wherein
the parents will drop as well as pick their children from schools so that an engagement is made
between them and parents can come in communication with teachers so that healthy curriculum
is provided to them (Nxumalo, 2019).
The parents as well as family members must also get engaged in the homework of the children
that is given to them from the early childhood studies so that they can become responsible for
their studies and the parents can guide them at every step in order to ensure the positive
curriculum or education to the children.
Another way off parents to contribute in the curriculum of the children is 2 make a parent school
partnership so that learning are provided to the children by way of participation of parents so that
self esteem is developed in them. Hence it can be said that the parents as well as the family

members have the right in contributing to the curriculum of the children in early childhood
which leads them towards personal development from a very young age.
Personalizing communication for parents is an effective way of increasing parent
engagement in learning system of Australia. Personalizing communication with parents involves
giving those options about which communication channels they want to utilize for engaging in
learning activities. This method can be used for improving at school involvement of parents. This
is because parents will be able to prioritize which area of school engagement is important for
them and their children. Parents can have the choice to select between informal visits to school,
digital communication, attending school events or volunteering. This also improves teacher-
parent communication as each individual involved in providing education to students is aware of
the ways to communicate.
The second most effective method useful for increasing parent engagement is to offer
parents actionable information and guidelines through which they are able to work with the
students at home to support their learning as per the Australian curriculum. This involves
teachers providing actionable data to parents about the student’s performance and offering the
verbal support or one on one guidance to parents so that at home parent engagement increases.
Providing shared school experiences to parents and children helps increase parent engagement at
home and at school. At home parent engagement can be enhanced by giving students and parents
outside activities relevant to student development (Ginsburg, 2007). At school engagement of
parents can be improved by offering shared experiences such as participating in school
committees and school club events where parents and children are able to bond and learn.
Providing parents opportunities where they are able to become part of a community is
also suitable for increasing parent engagement. The opportunities for parent engagement needs to
focus on connecting, welcoming and honoring parents because it ensures that parents are
completely involved in the learning system. This can be done by supporting development of
parents committee and making it easier for parents to participate in parents committee. In
addition to this another suitable method for increasing parent engagement online advice videos.
These videos can be used for connecting and welcoming parents and honoring them for their
efforts and involvement. Connecting, welcoming and honoring parents are the key points which
help enhance parent engagement (Farme & Fasoli, 2011).

CONCLUSION
From the above report it is determined that there are various rights which are provided to the
parents and family members so that they can contribute directly to the curriculum of their child.
Providing parents one-on-one guidance and helping them participate in parents committee are
some ways of increasing parent engagement in learning system.
