1. Introduction/Background
The paper mainly reflects on the preparation of a statement of work for a construction
company named “Pashendale Holdings Ltd” (PHL). The company plans to focus on both the
marketing service and on the customer service and for this the organization utilizes multi-
tiered approach for getting a number of clients as well as to gather various types of market
related information. In order to do so, the organization wants to redevelop their present
website by updating it successfully. The main reason behind the update is that the company
wants to build one of the website that must have detailed content about the testimonials of the
customers, recent new about the company as well as other types of information related with
new building development. The organization also wants a website that would be able to
provide more user friendly interface and the website much also include the delivery of the
feedback for the clients as it will be helpful in improving the different types of interactions
that is mainly done with the company. It is found that as the construction, testing,
implementation of the website can’t be done within the organization thus the entire work
needs to be outsourced.
The statement of work document which was prepared generally includes scope of the
project as well as description of the project. It is found that the document also includes work
requirement that provides details about each phase of the project that needs to be executed in
order to finish the project. The detailed schedule with milestones and budget is also provided
that mainly helps in reflecting on the budget and time that is needed for website
implementation. Furthermore, the paper reflects on the acceptance criteria that needs to be
present so that the project get accepted by PHL

2. Project scope
Project scope mainly refers to the information as well as detail that are mainly
required in order to start a project. It helps the project managers to properly allocate the
proper amount of work that is mainly needed for successfully finishing a project and
primarily concerned with controlling what is and what not is included in the scope of the
project. The scope of the project is mainly categorized into in-scope and out scope.

 Site content for the project is mainly incorporated

3. Work requirements
It is found that the website for PHL will be get completed in four phases that is
planning phase, designing phase, implementation phase as well as closure phase which are
elaborated below:

Planning phase: In the project planning phase, different types of ideas are mainly
gathered which are helpful in meeting the project goals. After determining proper idea, an
agreement is created by the legal department which is further signed by the contractor and the
project manager. In addition to this project contractor review procedure is selected and lastly
the document of SOW is also released.
Designing phase: Different types of new ideas are gathered for updating and
designing the website in such a way that it helps in meeting the project requirement. After the
ideas are gathered, proper changes within the design of the website are created. After making
the changes, proper feasibility analysis is mainly undertaken and then proper budget for the
project is assumed. After checking proper project feasibility, it is quite important to develop a
project proposal on website redevelopment.
Implementation phase: In the project implementation phase, it is found that
prototype of the project is properly designed. After the prototype is designed, the database of
the website is designed which is further followed by code validation. In addition to this,
testing of the cross browser is done and again the content pages are developed. After then
proper navigation structure is created and then proper details about the content pages are
successfully incorporated which further includes details about the customers testimonials and
ore. Lastly, proper review as well as testing is mainly undertaken for making sure that the
entire project is implemented successfully and the redeveloped website will meet the
objectives of the organization.
Conversion phase: In the project conversion phase, it is found that proper facility of
training is mainly arranged for the staffs so that they do not face any type of difficulty. After
the training sessions get completed, proper approval from the project on different documents
is achieved. In addition to this, the entire project is reviewed which further determines the

checklist of the project and then a written status for the entire project is achieved. Moreover,
the project is signed off and closed.

5. Acceptance Criteria
An acceptance criterion is one of the criteria that reflect whether one of the software
products get either accepted by the client or it gets rejected. Similarly, PHL Company will
accept the newly updated website if all the needs of PHL will be fulfilled and the acceptance
will be done on the criteria that are provided below:

Meeting deadline and budget: The website must be updated within the expected
time and budget such that the project does not get negatively impacted and if this happens
then PHL will accept the project for providing friendly interface to its users.
Accomplishing objective: The newly updated and development website must have
different content pages that must further includes details about the testimonials of the client
as well as information and details related with construction. In addition to this, the updated
website must be user-friendly and if this entire criterion is fulfilled then PHL will accept the
project for increasing its customer base by capturing the market.
