The concept of the Wounded Healer.
The word wounded healer came from Asclepius who was a doctor in Greek according to
Dunne, (2015). After recognizing his wounds, the doctor came up with a Sanctuary in Epidaurus.
In this sanctuary, people could come and get their ‘wounds’ healed; however, before getting
cured the victims could undergo some incubation process. The incubation process involved a
cleansing bath where the person would have to clean the soul. After this process of cleaning the
soul, the victim would get into a deep sleep. Depending on the luck of the sick person, during the
sleep, the person would have a dream of healing. The vision involves a snake which could bite
the person during the sleep.
On the other hand, Jung had a diagram to illustrate the concept of the wounded healer. In
the chart, some factors connect the healer to the sick. The two participants communicate, and in
the process of communication, the person got healed. The elements in the diagram include the
healer, the wounded, the shadow of the healer and that of the injured. There is conscious and
unconscious communication between the wounded and the healer. During the communication
process, the wound of the victim activates those of the healer according to Newcomb,Burton,
Edwards & Hazelwood, (2015). Consequently, the healer’s wounds identify what is going on in
the injuries of the victim and afterwards consciously or unconsciously pass the healing to the
wounded person based on the findings of the healer. However this type of healing process has an
impact on the healer in that, he will be continuously be affected by the wounds of the victims.
The concept of Johari Window
Johari Window refers to a psychological model that elaborates about the relationship and
proper understanding among the members of a given group according to Berland, (2017).

Harrington Ingham and Joseph Luft developed are the people who developed the tool. Johari
Window aims to assist an individual to gain a certain level of understanding between himself or
herself with other group members. In explaining the relationship, Johari Window makes use of
four quadrants. These quadrants include blind, hidden, open and unknown. Hidden self is a
quadrant that elaborates the condition of a person that is evident to her but unknown to the rest of
the group members. Such behavior is most apparent in people who are introverts and rarely share
their affairs with other people. When it comes to blind self, it reveals the condition evident to
others but unknown to the individual. For instance, the people who like to copy other
individual’s behaviors unconsciously according to Saxena, (2015). However, the hidden self is
always neither evident to the group nor the person having the traits. For examples, the ideas and
feelings of the individual. These factors sink to the person such that it is challenging for people
to understand the situation. The last aspect is the quadrant of an open self. In this quadrant, an
individual possesses attitudes, behaviors, knowledge and motives and the person is ready to
share the traits with other people. In this condition, the person is honest to himself and also the
people around him. For instance, one cannot keep guessing the intention of the person, but he is
the one who is ready to say what he is thinking about in the given situation.
