Application Form
I have been gone through that Rochdale Borough Council is committing to safeguard and
promote the welfare of the children as well as the young people. I want to apply for the Pastoral
officer as I have experience in working with the children and young people to overcome their
mental and physical problems. I have been working as the Teaching assistant in the Parkview
community primary school. In that job role, I have gained a lot of knowledge about handling the
children as I was handling a child with autism. My job role there was to take him towards the
sensory play and to develop him socially, mentally and physically. I used to follow the
instruction of the teacher where I used to mark the student, I also ensured to provide proper
equipments to the pupil. I was the mediator between the teacher and the pupil as I used to explain
the tasks from the teachers to the students. I learned to motivate and encourage the students to
participate in every tasks assigned. In order to motivate the pupils I used to praise the students. I
also helped the teachers to plan the educational plan. In order to care the students I used to
maintain a personal relationship with the students. I was a constant support for the students in my
previous workplace. Coming towards my qualification, I have possessed GCSE English and
mathematics with a grade- A. I also gained a specialised knowledge about pastoral care by
working with the pupils.
Apart from my qualification and experiences, I also possess special skills. I am good with the
children. I take personal initiatives to develop creativity among the students. In that case, I can
use my extra skills to make the work better. I have the skills to resolve the problems in the
situations, which are in stress. I also possess effective organizational skills to manage all the
conflicts, which can occur at the time of deadlines and meet the deadlines. I think I have teh
abilities to keep the records accurately as I used to maintain the records in my previous
workplace.
I am a team player; in that case, I have the ability to work effectively with a team. I am always
positive so I think; I can promote positivity among the team and become a role model for them.
As I have worked before with other organization, I know how to deal with the students and
develop them mentally, physically and socially.

Also, along with this I am prepared to work in a variety of environment such as house, school or
any other place. I also do not possess any problem in rotational shifts as I love this work and i
