Nursing is stated to be a profession inside the sector of health care associated with the

Nurses have been made responsible for the development of care plan and collaboratively
working with therapists, physicians and the patient along with their family members. Various
cases have been observed in the field of medical science, which involves a patient suffering
from a particular disorder, being admitted to a hospital. Then the nurse gets appointed by a
doctor and she has to develop a care plan for the patient by thinking in terms of
professionalism and cultural factors associated with the patient. This paper will talk about the
assessment and caring strategy required for the patient named Violet. This piece of work has
used fictional characters for the assessment purpose, according to the consideration and
confidentiality of NMC (2018) (Harrison 2018). Reports have been shown to contain a lot of
misbalances in the physiological conditions associated with the patient (Gunarto et al. 2018).
The structure of this paper will follow a sequence in which the assessment and care plan of
the patient will be stated first, followed by the physiology of one of the five vital signs
associated with the patient and the last section will discuss the nursing profession and
responsibilities according to codes of conduct and constitutions associated with medicines
and healthcare. The detailed structure of this paper states that an evidence-based care plan
will be stated at first using the scenarios from the case study (common strategies and
interprofessional collaboration will be included), out of the five vital signs, one will be
described for this patient and the importance of professionalism for this patient will be stated
at last.
Assessment and Care Plan
Patient assessment-
Nursing assessment of a patient is defined as the process of gathering information
about the physiological, sociological, physiological and spiritual status of the patient. All
these assessments would be done by a licensed RN (registered nurse). Assessment is the first
step of the nursing process which differs from a general medical diagnosis. According to the
Journal of nursing, assessment has been found to focus only on one of the body systems or
mental health (Regan et al. 2017). This assessment is required to gather information about the
current and future needs of a patient. The assessment incorporates abnormal vs normal body
physiologies. A registered nurse uses their critical skills and thinking procedures in order to
allow the nurse to identify and prioritize appropriate interventions for the patient. Before the

beginning of an assessment, a nurse establishes a therapeutic and professional mode of
communication (Bauer and Bodenheimer 2017). The most common method of initiating a
communication procedure (therapeutic) is to have the nurse to introduce themselves. The
process of OLDCART (Onset of health concern or complaint, Location of pain and
symptoms, Duration of health complaint and concern), Characteristics, Aggravating factors,
Relieving factors and Treatments required for the patient) are used by a registered nurse to
assess a patient. Thus, it can be stated that the previous section talks about a brief about the
general description of a nursing assessment followed for every patient. Physical and cultural
assessments are integral parts of a patient assessment, which has also been followed for this
patient also. Various assessment tools are used for the assessment of a patient. As a nurse, a
hypothetical tool has been used for the assessment of the patient, which contains various
questions about the characteristics of the patient.

continuity and translation and access to care. Violet was found to have a high blood pressure,
which might have been the reason of her associated problems with shaking hands and
disabilities associated with her legs. Out of the four vital signs observed for the patient, blood
pressure was the most significant one. This problem caused tremor because it also affected
the nervous system leading to the shaking of hands. High blood pressure subsequently
progressed to impairment of her movement. The patient has been found to be associated with
spiritual beliefs and emotionally struck by her current condition. Her current condition
includes problems with mobility and high blood pressure. Therefore, family support is
required for this care plan, in order to let the patient be in comfort while the treatment

The physiology of one vital sign
There are six classic vital signs associated with the human body. These signs are
named as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration rate, height and weight (Bresch et
al. 2014). Every diagnosis of a patient is based on the noting of these vital signs and
assessing the defects in the physiological conditions of the patient and devising the
intervention plans according to it. There are four vital signs reports collected from the
diagnosis of the patient are-

In this study, the abnormal rate of blood pressure will be studied as a vital sign. The normal
rate of blood pressure has been observed as 120/80 mmHg and any rate higher than 130/80
mm Hg is reported to be a patient with high blood pressure (American Heart Association
2017). Reports of Mrs. Violet showed that she has been suffering from a high blood pressure
of (150/95 mmHg) and has been found to take Ramipril in order to restore her blood pressure
to normal. The primary pathophysiology of high blood pressure can be described in a single
term known as "Hypertension". Situations have been observed where untreated conditions of
high blood pressure have progressed to long term organ damaged which has resulted in
mortalities among the patient group (Austin et al. 2017). Increase in cardiac output and an
increase in systemic vascular resistance has been found to have increased among the patient
suffering from high blood pressure. Systolic pressure has been defined as the maximum
pressure associated with the large arteries when the heart muscle contracts in order to propel
blood through the body. Diastolic pressure has been found to be the lowest pressure inside the
arteries while muscle relaxation occurring between the beatings of the heart. For this case

study, it has been observed that Mrs. Violet is not associated with physical activities and have
problems associated with ADLs. These two factors can be stated as the cause of high blood
pressure in Mrs. Violet. This factor can also be stated to be the reason for the feeling of
anxiety in Mrs. Violet because of her inabilities in performing the ADLs. Arterial
hypertension has also been reported to be the major cause of morbidity and mortality
associated with cerebrovascular disease, coronary heart disease, and renal disease. In cases
where high blood pressure is not reported or treated with proper medications, the brain and
kidneys have been found to be damaged as secondary organs after heart. The balance should
be maintained between the systolic and diastolic blood pressure in order to prevent the
increase of blood pressure. All this information has been found to be gathered from the
details of the case study associated with Mrs. Violet. These are the overall information on the
pathophysiology of the vital sign (blood pressure) associated with Mrs. Violet. The next
section will discuss the roles of the nursing profession and the responsibilities associated with
the treatment of the patient of this case study (Violet).
Professionalism
According to the NMC code pod conduct, ethics and performance, a set of key
principles have been stated that is to be underpinned in the practice of every nurse and
midwives. These principles should always remind the nurses about their professional
responsibilities. Primarily the code of conduct is a tool that is used in fitness to practice cases.
The secondary role of the code of conduct is to guide the daily practices of all nurses and
midwives. There are various other guidance, standards, and pieces of advice apart from
NMCs. However, NMC is the code, which has been found useful in order to support
professional development in the daily practice of nurses (Brackenbury 2014). There are four
domains of NMC including professional values, interpersonal and communication skills,
nursing practice and decision-making, and management, leadership, and team working.
According to the NMC code of conduct, these domains have been observed to compose
generic standards for competence along with a field standard for competence. The four
principles of the NMC code states that prioritizing people practice effectively, preservation of
safety and promotion of professionalism and trust. The NHS (National Health Service)
constitution has been found to be set out responsibilities for the nurses and patients for an
effective working process of the NHS (Groothuizen, Callwood and Gallagher 2018). There
are six values in the NHS constitution that are required to provide the best quality care for the
patients. These values include working together with the patients, respect the patients from all
aspects, commitment to the quality care for the patient, maintaining compassion while the
care process is going on, improving the living standards of the patient and respecting the
values and beliefs of all the people associated with the patient (family). These are the two
code of conducts which will support the sense of professionalism in a registered nurse. As a
nurse, my primary role is to provide the patient with the best possible care from all aspects.
These aspects include physiological, psychological, emotional and psychosocial factors
associated with the patient. This is a profession that occurs inside the healthcare sector,
which should be focused on families, care for individuals and communities to attain, maintain

and recover to optimal health and quality of life for the patient. As a registered nurse, I will
work to promote health, help the patient to cope with illness and prevent the occurrence of
disorders of the patient. My sense of profession will be based on the NHS constitution and
the NMC code of conduct. This means that I will work as an advocate and health educator for
the patients, communities, and families. This case study deals with Mrs. Violet who has been
exposed to high levels of blood pressure and impaired ADLs. Thus, the nursing care plan
must be followed with proper professionalism based on all the principles of code of conduct
of NMC and NHS constitution. Primarily the code of conduct is a tool that is used in fitness

apart from NMCs. The incorporation of professionalism in nursing does not only mean that a
nurse should wear a uniform and speak politely. This sense encompasses various sets of
values that are critical in the evaluation of patient care quality. Improvement in patient care
qualities includes improving the methods of care plan, standards of nursing and the
judgments associated with nursing practices associated with the patient in everyday life.
Various qualities are included in all nursing professions in order to maintain professionalism,
which includes positive attitude, compassionate patient interactions, teamwork and integrity,
and professional responsibility. According to a study published in the journal of nursing and
midwifery, there are three groups of diverse components associated with nursing
professionalism. Cognitive, attitudinal and psychomotor aspects of professionalism are the
three components associated with professionalism in nurses. My first sense of responsibility
is "care comes first" where communication is the key to understand the patient clearly. Mrs.
Violet has been found to have certain religious beliefs and has been observed to visit the
church every Sunday. Thus, I will do my best to let Mrs. Violet maintain her spiritual beliefs
while she is in the care plan. Mrs. Violet has been found to express her feelings and emotions
in front of me. As a registered nurse with a sense of professionalism, I will protect her
privacy in order to respect her dignity. Maintenance of this factor will allow me to strengthen
my relationship with Mrs. Violet. I will never give the collected information to an
unauthorized person and preserve anonymity when citing the cases of the patient in various
course works. This factor is correlated with the second principle of the NMC code of conduct
and has been found to increase the trust of a client on the nurse. Thus, I will follow this
principle to take care of Mrs. Violet in order to maintain and increase her trust in me. This
condition will also help in strengthening of the treatment plan. Another important factor of
professionalism is to provide the client with high standards of care. I will ensure the
implementation of this factor in my care plan in order to maintain the principles of the NHS
constitution. I will take care to be punctual in providing urgent care to the patient, giving her
medicines on time and assist her in daily life activities whenever she is in need. I will also
acknowledge situations that go beyond the scope of professionalism. I will only approach my
supervisors when a situation crosses my scope of professionalism. Professionalism has been
found to foster the development of many soft skills including five essential skills. These five
essential skills include "conflict resolution, ethical thinking, adaptability, leadership, and
collaboration". I will deescalate any problems that arise while communicating with the
patient with possible solutions and respect. I will also think ethically while taking decisions
and making value-based judgments in order to align them with moral codes and professional

standards. As my primary role, I will try to prioritize the needs of my patient and her family
members in order to ethically handle the situation. I will use the demonstration of the
capacity to combine new information with education to get effective changes in the treatment
plan. Thus, it can be stated that professionalism is one of the most significant factor
associated with the role of nursing. Exhibiting professionalism in nursing practice has various
benefits. The most significant importance is that it helps in ensuring the safeguard in the
health and well-being of Mrs. Violet. As an example, respectfully treating the patients and
providing them with easily understandable facts has been found to encourage them to make
better decisions for personal health. Having clear lines of communication and maintaining
collaborative relationships has been found to help the medical teams in sharing patient
information and plan an effective and secure treatment process. Professionalism has also been
observed to positively affect the efficiency and the atmosphere of healthcare institutions. The
maintenance culture of respect, encouraging the patients, cooperation, honesty, and integrity
has been found to allow the nurses to inspire close-knit team collaboration, unified by the
common goal to provide the best possible care for patients. Professionalism can decrease the
risk factors by promoting compassion and communication associated with workplace
conflict, which can result from personal differences and biases.

What happened?
Assessment of a patient (Mrs. Violet). This section will talk about the care plan stated above for
the patient from the authors point of view. This is a reflective section discussing the requirement,
strengths and weaknesses of the care plan stated in the previous sections.
The patient was found to be suffering from various physiological, psychological and behavioral
factors (not so prominent). Violet was observed to be suffering from mobility issues because of
her health. She was found to have experienced a fall, just a day before the visit from the nurses.
She was also found to experience a walking disorder. However, she could get up after falling and
hold frames and chairs while walking. She was also found to lose weight constantly, however her
BMI was observed to be normal. She was also found to suffer from tremor, which made her hands
shake while performing the daily life activities. Thus she was not able to cook and perform all the
ADLs. Violet was also suffering from a high blood pressure and thus she was taking Ramipril on a
daily dose. Violet was also found to require assistance while maintaining personal hygiene because
of her problem with hands and legs. Even, her current medical records also showed that there was
a hike in her blood pressure. Therefore, to handle and neutralize all these abnormalities, a nursing
care plan was devised for her treatment.

Every sign and symptom of a disorder is associated with an underlying cause, which is linked to
future malignant diseases. Mrs. Violet was found to be exposed to various abnormalities, which
were associated with her impairment of ADLs. Violet was found to have a high blood pressure,
which might have been the reason of her associated problems with shaking hands and disabilities
associated with her legs. Out of the four vital signs observed for the patient, blood pressure was
the most significant one. This problem caused tremor because it also affected the nervous system
leading to the shaking of hands. High blood pressure subsequently progressed to impairment of her
movement. This is because of the fact that high blood pressure is directly associated with loss of
coordination, shaking hands or tremor disorder associated with the central nervous system
(Harrison, 2018). Thus, it can be stated that all the above disorders were linked to the high blood
pressure and were impairing her ADLs.
After going through the patient’s condition and the care plan, I understood that physical problems
are not always observed due to physical injuries. Sometimes, there are some underlying issues,
which gives rise to the exposed signs and symptoms. After going through the medical records, I
can see that all other parts appear to be normal, except the blood pressure. Ramipril was one of the
drugs which is directly associated with the reduction of blood pressure. After devising the nursing
care plan, it can be stated that all the interventions used for the improvement in the shaking hand
conditions and legs were appropriate. While devising the nursing plan, I had to use my knowledge
and use the help of internet in order to devise the plan. Other interventions for the reduction blood
pressure were also stated in this assignment in order to help the patient recover from her current
condition of physical disabilities and high blood pressure. These are the overall knowledge, which
has been gathered by me from this situation.
This care plan was mainly focused on the lowering of high blood pressure and treatment of the
current conditions of tremor and problems with movement. Physical therapy, relaxation exercises,
deep brain simulation and exercises related to legs were the primary interventions to cure the
physical disorders associated with the patient. High blood pressure was also reduced by controlling
the levels of electrolytes in blood. These were the overall interventions stated in the previously
given care plan. However, a newer care plan can include various other factors not discussed in the
previously given care plan. According to me, problems with nervous systems must be solved in
order to directly cure the patient from shaking hands and legs while performing the daily activities.
Suppressing the nervous systems will help the patient feel relaxed and prevent her hands from
shaking. Then a treatment of high blood pressure can be initiated in order to enhance the rate of
curing process associated with Mrs. Violet.

Mrs. Violet. On the failure of the above stated care plan, it can be said that if the plan fails for Mrs.
Violet, it will also be inappropriate for other patients who have the same problems as her. Thus, on
the failure of the above stated care plan, or when a show recovery of the care plan is observed, all
the above stated factors will be addressed for the treatment of the patient. These factors can also be
addressed in this study when a slow recovery of the patient is observed for the study. Slower the
patient’s recovery, lesser is the effectiveness of the treatment plan. This will be the overall point
when the addressing of the factors are required.
The GP population group will involve the population with long-term disabilities and conditions
associated with high levels of blood pressure and central nervous systems disorders. The
population with disabilities were selected for the study because of the fact that people with hand
shaking disorders and movement related problems with be benefited from this nursing care plan.
People with long-term disabilities have been suffering from an impairment in their daily life
activities, which are associated with the requirement of assistance with personal hygiene. People
with high blood pressure will also be benefited from the chosen care plan because they will

Violet for her treatment. Therefore, all the patients who are suffering from the given disorder of
Mrs. Violet can be stated to get cured after being treated by the care plan stated above. Keeping in
mind, all the above stated factors, the population group has been chosen as given above.
Further needs identified for the care plan begins with the diagnosis of neuropathy associated with
the patient. Other factors apart from high blood pressure needs to be identified as the causative
disorders for tremors. Much focus should be given on her problems with legs and hands. Side
effects of the associated medications should also be focused while modifying the care plan.
Parkinson’s disease, stroke and traumatic brain injury should also be studied in deep for the patient
in order to identify another associated problem for which tremor is actually occurring. The blood
sugar level of the patient needs to be controlled also and diet should also be checked. Psychiatric
conditions, alcohol abuse, hyperthyroidism and mercury poisoning and the disorders, which need a
strong focus in this study. These are the overall learning needs identified for the study. Therefore,
it can be stated that the care plan should be modified by considering the factors.

As a registered nurse (GP), I will have to maintain a healthy relationship with the patient in order
to let her feel at home inside the hospital. A healthy relationship will involve all the ethical
considerations, maintenance of privacy for the patient, communicating with the patient in a good
tone, helping the patient with her daily life activities, respecting the patient’s sense of spirituality
and being punctual while providing medications and food on time with appropriate dose and
amount respectively. Existence of any type of misunderstanding between the nurse and the patient
needs to be stopped in order to maintain a healthy relationship between the nurse and the patient.
There are five essential skills include "conflict resolution, ethical thinking, adaptability, leadership,
GP capabilities allows a nurse to provide care, health education and treatment to all the patient of
all ages. A registered adult, nurse has the right to work as a general practice (GP) nurse. GP
capabilities mainly includes caring of a patient, devising a care plan for a patient and helping a
patient cope with the diseased condition. The process by which the actions can be linked are
maintenance of a healthy nurse patient relationship in order to help the patient be cured from the
disease. The main actions needed for the modified care plan includes taking care of the patient
with punctuality, helping the patient with her daily activities due to her physical disabilities and
cooperating with the patient in order to let the patient get recover from the disorder. Thus, it can be
stated that these are the overall actions, which can be linked to the GP capabilities in order to
ensure that the patient is getting recovered from the current situation at a faster rate than before.
The suggested capabilities required for the nurse associated with this care plan is good
communication skills, ethical knowledge and implementation, telephonic skills, good sense of
cooperation with the patient and sense of punctuality. All the above stated skills are important for
a nurse associated with the care plan stated in this study. Nurses must have good communication
skills and language should not become a barrier for them. This is because of the fact that nurses
have to handle various types of patients from different cultures. Thus, it can be stated that good
communication skills will make them properly interact with the patient, help them in identifying
their problems easily, and devise a care plan for them. Ethical knowledge and implementation will
help in gaining the trust of the patient and will help the patient in feeling safe while undergoing the
treatment procedure. Higher the cooperation between the nurse and the patient, greater is the rate
of cure for the patient. Thus, it can be stated that these are the overall skills that a nurse must have
in order to help the person be cured from the stated disorder.

What learning needs have you identified from the event?
After going through the patient’s condition and the care plan, I understood that physical problems
are not always observed due to physical injuries. Sometimes, there are some underlying issues,
which gives rise to the exposed signs and symptoms. After going through the medical records, I
can see that all other parts appear to be normal, except the blood pressure. Ramipril was one of the
drugs which is directly associated with the reduction of blood pressure. After devising the nursing
care plan, it can be stated that all the interventions used for the improvement in the shaking hand
conditions and legs were appropriate. While devising the nursing plan, I had to use my knowledge
and use the help of internet in order to devise the plan. Other interventions for the reduction blood
pressure were also stated in this assignment in order to help the patient recover from her current
condition of physical disabilities and high blood pressure. These are the overall knowledge, which
has been gathered by me from this situation. These are the learning needs, which can be identified
from the event.

Professional Development Plan (Academic plan)
Goals setting
The paper will discuss the goals of the professional development plan associated with
my field of study. I am a student of B.Sc Honours nursing student in the adult category. I
belong to level 4 criteria of the study course. The main aim of this goal is to allow the
students (me) to use their reflective and reflexive conversations to enable them to link their
practice experiences to the theory and evidence based practice. The secondary aim of this
goal is to allow the student to develop the personal and professional skills of the student.
Thus, my goal is to complete my degree as a professional graduate nurse by undergoing
stepwise procedures.
Specific target data and time
The primary target of my development plan is the treatment of patients. Time is the
most significant factor for a professional development plan because of the fact that both effort
and money is an essential factor to carry out the plan. The whole course is expected to be
completed within three years. Thus, it can be stated that, I have to continue the work till the
end of three years in order to become a graduate in nursing.
Steps of the development plan
The steps of the development plan will be based on the action plan of this study. The
first step states begins with the gaining of essential study skills associated with PAT sessions.
The full form of PAT is pre admission testing which allows a nurse to be ensured that the
chosen population of the patient is ready for a surgery. Nursing is stated to be a profession
inside the sector of health care associated with the care of patients, their families and
communities in order to attain, maintain and recover the quality of life and optimal health
conditions. Nurses have been found to be differentiated from various other healthcare
professionals in terms of their associations with the patient. Nurses have been made
responsible for the development of care plan and collaboratively working with therapists,
physicians and the patient along with their family members. Various cases have been
observed in the field of medical science, which involves a patient suffering from a particular
disorder, being admitted to a hospital. Then the nurse is appointed by a doctor and she has to
develop a care plan for the patient by thinking in terms of professionalism and cultural factors
associated with the patient. This paper will talk about the assessment and caring strategy
required for the patient named Violet. This piece of work has used fictional characters for the
assessment purpose, according to the consideration and confidentiality of NMC (2018)
(Harrison 2018). Reports have been shown to contain a lot of misbalances in the
physiological conditions associated with the patient (Gunarto et al. 2018). While a nurse is at
a PAT, he or she has to review the patient medications, diagnostic information and paperwork
needed for the study. Possible laboratory work, chest X-ray and EKG are the main diagnostic
features studied inside PAT. Thus, it can be stated that a PAT session is essential for every
nursing student in order to improve the study skills. The resources gathered from PAT

sessions have provided necessary information for development and practice. These resources
has helped me in gathering extra information about the practice and development of the
nursing process. After undergoing the session, I will be able to engage in the various
extracurricular activities connected to my academic course. This academic course will
include quizzes, activities, exercises, discussions m project work and case study analysis.
After undertaking the PAT session course, I can participate in all the activities in order to
increase my knowledge about nursing practice and development. This makes up for the first
step of the academic plan.
The second stage will be to familiarise myself with the blackboard as I am unable to
use the blackboard properly. In the action plan, I have already stated that my first few weeks
of nursing was not so good because of the problem stated in the previous line. Thus, I have to
gather knowledge about the IT skills at Clait level in order to use the application software to
check my progress on the blackboard. Time utilisation is a big factor associate with the my
study course. Knowledge of computer and IT skills grants the ability by which one can use
computer and computer related technologies. Since this is a nursing course, study materials
and valuable information will be shared online via the university blackboard. This blackboard
will have separate log in details for each student, which will help the students to access their
university easily in case of any need. Since paper work is not the choice in every case of
nursing field, thus, the use of computer is a strong necessity of this academic development
plan. Therefore, I will undergo this training for the allocated period of time in order to make
my academic life easier and successful.
Next step of this plan is to set up a study rom at home in order to strictly allocate time
for this course of study. In the previous step, it has been stated that I have a problem with the
university blackboard. Thus, in order to maintain the focus and improve my ability of using
the blackboard, I have to set up a study room and dedicate myself to focus on the course.
Gradually I will join a study group in order to achieve my full potential. A study group
consists of various students of the same field in taught by a professional. I will have the
chance to gather and increase my knowledge about the development and nursing practice in
order to be a professional registered nurse in future. This section is an important stage of the
academic development plan because it focusses in the increase of my knowledge about
nursing development and practice. I will also utilise the study time in grasping the use of
blackboard and systems by using the self-developed learning style, which is kinaesthetic in
nature. This makes up for the overall third stage of the academic development plan for the
nursing practice. The next stage will discuss the involvement of another IT system in the
academic development plan.
Since I have an issue with the turnitin, I need to be aware of the IT system associated
with plagiarism. Since I will acquire computer skills in stage 2, I will acquire knowledge
about the IT turnitin while submitting all the theoretical works. While doing the theoretical
tasks, I came to understand that copy pasting of parts from other sources is not allowed.
Turnitin report plays a major role in the final results of the academic course (B.Sc nursing).
Turnitin is a very essential and useful tool, which is associated with every academic study
course. Turnitin provides the details of every criteria, which has been copied from any

existing source on the same field. Thus, it can be stated that this stage is very much important
while undergoing my academic course of study. Along with this, I will have to gather
knowledge about the factors associated with plagiarism in order to reduce the turnitin report
percentage and plagiarism report percentage. This stage will help me in making my
assignments unique and authentic which will in turn allow me to get more marks in the final
results. Therefore, I can state that this stage is very much important in my development plan.
The next step will be to learn the technique of referencing in order to cite the gathered
information from the external sources. Referencing the write up is very much necessary
because of the fact that not all the information is used in the assignment from our own
knowledge. Every text-based knowledge that has been collected from an external source, has
to be referenced according to the international guidelines of literature. This factor preserves
the authenticity of the original work done by the researcher. Direct and indirect citations are
very much important in order to make any assignment an authentic one. Use of quotations
and marks are required for any written assignment is necessary because of the fact that it has
not been initially done by the student himself or herself. In most of my written assignments, I
have observed that I have a difficulty in referencing them. Thus, this stage of the academic
development plan is very much important for me to understand the basics of referencing and
implementing them in the study. The next section will discuss the stage for practical works
and their incorporation in the development plan.
The next stage will involve the practical knowledge about the nursing practice.
Practical works in the field of nursing involves every factor that is related to the patient care.
This is because of the fact that it is the primary responsibility of a nurse, to take care of the
patient. Thus, it can be stated that to be a responsible and professional nurse in future,
practical knowledge is must. Proper and immediate actions are necessary to be taken by a
nurse in order to take care of the patient. Various situations can arise which needs urgent
attention for the patient, at that point, a nurse must be able to use their practical skills in order
to let the patient get cured from the diseased condition. Practical knowledge is very much
important in the life of a nursing student because theoretical knowledge is gathered to
implement it practically. Thus, this stage of the professional development course is important
for me to become a general practitioner (GP).
Summary of the plan
On a summarizing note, it can be stated that nursing is a course which makes the
students identify the problems associated with the patient’s health and devise an effective
strategy as a care plan for the patient. This was a professional development plan associated
with the nursing field where I am a student of B.Sc nursing. The case study associated with
this paper talked about Mrs. Violet, who has been stated to suffer from high blood pressure
and problems with daily activities. She has been found to be experiencing tremors and
movement disorders. However, since no other problems were diagnosed in the nursing
diagnosis section, the nursing plan was devised according to the above stated factors. The
reflective parts discusses all the questions associated with the linkage between this study and
the roles of a general practitioners. After the conclusion of this assignment, professional
