“Attitude and communication while caring for the elderly patients” is a vital topic with

information gathered from the case circumnavigate the fact that not only has Ria been under D.r
Nowaczynski’s care for 20 years but also has agreed upon his offer to have her back to her
house. Furthermore, it is pride that Ria agrees to come with him to his office. This information is
relevant because it reveals the implication of effective communication and good attitude in
promoting excellent patient outcomes. This information has enabled me to promote respectful
interpersonal communication as a necessity in meeting clients’ needs holistically (Willey, 2019).
The information will also enable me to promote person centeredness while caring for the elderly
persons (Willey, 2019).

Description Feelings and Thoughts Values and Beliefs
Ria finds it difficult to communicate while
responding to questions. She maintains a
theme of person centeredness claiming that
she can take a bathe by herself. Sharing
concerns foster older persons’ self-identity
(Wolf, et al., 2014). However, Ria
ultimately agrees to the doctor’s
guidelines. In so doing, she displays a
theme of transformation. Older patients
transform when they receive advice about
their condition (Willey, 2019).
I felt bad when Ria finds it difficult to
communicate. Elderly people find it hard
explaining themselves (Willey, 2019). This
is disastrous because it leaves their
challenges unsettled. A feeling of
enthusiasm crossed by heart when Ria
finally agrees with the doctor. It is true that
respectful communication play a vital role
in transforming individuals. The needs of
patients are achieved through constrictive
interactions.
The values that surround my feelings and
thoughts include compassion, humility,
accountability and curiosity (Stievano, &
Tschudin, 2019). With the sense of
compassion and humility, and curious
about what might happen if Ria fails to
comply with the doctor’s instructions.
Thus, am accountable to react positively or
negatively depending on the state of the
condition. With respect to beliefs, it is an
assumption that patient centered care
promotes good patient outcomes. The
values described link to the ICN code of
Ethics for Nurses.
