Discussion Board Post
AI Summary
This discussion post focuses on patient safety standards, addressing the assignment brief for a capstone project in healthcare administration. It begins by outlining the general and specific problem statements, purpose, and research questions related to patient safety, drug and device standards, and healthcare organization performance. The post then presents a literature review, identifying relevant facts, research gaps, and conflicting assertions. Finally, it brainstorms three potential solutions to address the research problem, supported by scholarly evidence and explaining how these recommendations could improve patient safety and healthcare outcomes. The assignment is a response to a discussion prompt requiring analysis of research findings and formulation of solutions based on the literature review.

implementation and agreement of standard devices and drugs is measured and regulated by
regulatory authorities like food and drugs authority in the U.S.
Health care organizations performance expectations and
standards
The implementation and agreement of healthcare performance standards, achievement
and measurements is emerging in the consumerism era and facilitated by; establishment of
health care quality goals; improved access, quality control, cost control while embracing
public policy, giving priority to reporting and measuring of performance of health care
systems and creating focus on cultural excellence on healthcare. The performance and
expectations standards also helps in promoting active stakeholders collaborations.
General problems statement
Performance standards establish performance minimum levels and establish
consistency and uniformity in organizations and individuals. Another aim and goal for setting
standards is that they are required to set expectations.

Literature Review
The reform and modernization of healthcare, the optimization of the management and
structure of the industry, the development of medical technologies, and the improvement of
the professional level of specialists working in healthcare are aimed at improving the health
status of the population and the medical and demographic situation in the country. However,

BUSINESS RESEARCH METHODS
Over the years, the system of outpatient care has undergone significant changes,
expressed in increasing the material interest of local doctors and nurses in their work,
improving material and technical equipment, introducing modern medical technologies for
treating and examining patients. In publications devoted to the implementation of the national
project “Health” and the effectiveness of measures taken at the first stages of healthcare
modernization, it is emphasized that patient satisfaction with medical care determines the
social effectiveness of medical institutions and the healthcare system as a whole.
Conflicting assertions and theories in the research
The formation of patient satisfaction with medical care is influenced by many factors:
qualification and professionalism of medical personnel, interpersonal relationships,
conditions of care, its outcome, etc. There should be a correspondence of the medical care
provided to the patient’s needs (population), his expectations, and the current level of medical
development science and technology (Mackey, & Gass, 2015).
