Report
AI Summary
This report addresses the critical need for increased computer resources at Dallas Park Elementary due to rising student enrollment, and proposes a grant to fund a new, fully-equipped computer laboratory. It identifies three potential grant sources: the Corning Incorporated Foundation, which prioritizes STEM education; Ed-Tech Team, an organization focused on improving education through technology; and government grants, which require strict compliance. The proposal aligns with the goals of each grant source, emphasizing the importance of technology in education and detailing how the new lab will enhance students' access to resources and improve their performance in national assessments. It also highlights the ethical considerations involved in managing grant funds and ensuring they are used effectively for the intended purpose of improving educational outcomes.

Due to the increasing number of students joining the school, a shortage of computers has
resulted. Hence the grant proposal prepared will enable the institution to secure some much-
needed funding to construct a new computer laboratory that is fully installed with the latest and
most relevant software that will enable the students to have a better understanding and grasp of
emerging technology and their various applications. I have identified three grant opportunities
that are ideal for the servicing of the grant proposal. The first source of a grant is the Corning
Incorporated Foundation. This company has taken upon itself the mandated to empower the
community through funding hundreds of dollars to the following three categories, education,
culture, and human services. In education, the foundation places more emphasis on science,
technology, engineering, math (STEM) and arts (Do et al., 2018). This platform is also
responsible for providing students through all grades with experience and practical skills.
Throughout all levels the Foundation advocates for the proper inclusion of the arts into the
program. In order for an institution to be viable for application of this grant it needs to, be in full
compliance with the Internal Revenue Services, have a well-formulated Mission statement,
names and contact information of all the relevant personnel, the total amount needed from the
Foundation to actualize the project, the project description, the organization’s budget, latest
financial statements that have been audited, a list of the directors and finally a project budget
indicating all the sources income and the expenses. My grant proposal states that all students
require to be sufficiently familiar with technology in order to be able to compete more fairly in
assessments of national level hence the increasing number of the student population is hampering
this objective. In acquiring this grant we will be able to fully meet all the requirement of STEM
especially in the technology section.

The second source of a grant is Ed-Tech Team. This is a corporation located in California
providing educational technology on a global scale by linking teachers and other educators. The
main purpose is to inspire educators by improving the value of their work, this has the effect of
teachers producing students who are compassionate and have problem-solving skills and
understanding. This can only be achieved via proper education and access to current technology.
This organization, therefore, empowers schools through various means one of them being
infrastructure development and use of the best technology and teaching methods ("Grants -
EdTechTeam", 2018). In previous years the organization has empowered schools by donating a
percentage of the net income to schools and dozens of students have been given devices that
make access to the internet easier hence availability to books and other research materials. My
grant proposal seeks to build a new computer lab to cater for the increasing number of students,
by availing to them the best computers in the market and fast internet connection that will enable
easy access to relevant and appropriate reading materials. Ed-Tech can facilitate this need by
installing new computers and a fast internet connection in the new computer lab since it is their
job to make sure the best information is given to students through the best technology and
teachers who have been appropriately trained to pass on this knowledge in the best way possible.
The government is the third source of grants, money obtained through this means is not
expected to be paid back to the government. The government sets aside funding every financial
year to be used by the education department. This department provides grants that are offered to
non-profit organizations, educational establishments, persons or a business ("Suggested Search -
Education Department Grants & Funding", 2018). As a result of government grant money
coming from the taxpayer dollar, it has to follow rigorous compliance and monitoring to make
sure the money is not being mishandled. In order to receive a grant, a proposal must be

formulated or an application must be filled and approved by one of the twenty-six federal
agencies given the responsibility of disbursing grants. My grant proposal contains all the relevant
information needed in order to be awarded a grant since this money is used for the sole purpose
of development. It has a justification as to why the project is important, it shows what the money
will be used for in the case of an award, who will manage the money, the objectives and goal that
the Dallas Park Elementary Foundation are aiming to achieve with the grant money.
