INTRODUCTION
The concept of academic skills refers to the presence of certain skills within an individual
which they can learn at their learning phase and develops those in within self. Personal
development plan denotes to a structured form within which an individual mentions about the
skills that are needed to be developed or improved highlighting the current and future
expectations that are to be achieved in a particular period of time. The present report talks about
the short, medium and long term goals which a person achieves with the help of developing a
personal development plan.
MAIN BODY
Concept of personal and professional development
The notion of personal development denotes to the skills that a person either develops or
enhances in order to have attractive personality in his or her personal life. Whereas, the notion
pertaining to professional development comprises of such skills that an employee carries in his
official or personal life used at workplace. An individual develops these skills in order to attain
their various objectives with ease and high level of efficiency. These goals needs to be set for a
particular time period within which they are targetted to be attained.
Short term goals with three different examples
The short term objectives are denoted to a bridge that minimizes the distance between
long term objectives. These are required to be achieved within a very short span of time say
within a period of one year.
Examples:
To look for a good coach to have the training of badminton
To jot down one pager easy on different topic with daily basis.
To schedule early morning wake up for exercises.
Medium term goals with three different examples
The notion for medium term goals could be stated as such targets which are set with an
objective of serving the motive of long term targets. Such form of targets are required to be
attained within a period of less than 3 years.

Long term goals with three different examples
The long term goals are stated as the achievements that are presumed to be completed in
a long period of time with lot of planning. Such targets are set to be completed with a period of
more than 3 years and can last for 10 years.

To attain a command in the area of written communication.
Value of a personal development plan with an example
The plan for developing personal skills or qualities are a document in a written format
that comprises of different actions as well as determination which can be considered by a person
in order to develop improvements in their present capabilities as well as skills. In this context, it
could be mentioned that a plan for personal development permits a person to elevate the existing
