INTRODUCTION
Personal Development Plan (PDP) is a plan for the future which is done for the overall
development of the personality. It is usually done for a period of twelve months and it provides
direction in order to achieve the desired results. PDP can also facilitate in the development skills
of an individual (Personal Development Plan (PDP), 2016). The selection of appropriate
networks would enable an individual to gain lot of opportunities in his career. The report
contains a personal development plan and analysis of gaps in skills and experience. Along with
this, the different networks which would accommodate PDP has also been included in the report.
TASK 1
1.1 Career Aim
I have enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programme
because a management degree tends to open up many doors of opportunities in the corporate
world. The globalization and complex business environment has increased its significance. It
also gives an in-depth knowledge about how a business works and what are the essential factors
that determine its survival and growth. It is important for me as it will strengthen my grounds to
become an entrepreneur. It will also improve the managerial and communication skills that is
essential to run a successful business. My career vision is to start an e-commerce store and for
this it is important to learn the tricks and gain the insights for handling the business efficiently.
An entrepreneur has to understand all the aspects of business and human values that play a major
role in the decision making. These values would help me to reach my ultimate goal. Furthermore,
the degree programme would enable me to develop my whole personality and to formulate a
Personal development programme for the future.
1.2 My goals
The ultimate goal for me is to become a successful entrepreneur. In order to accomplish it
it is essential to improve the personality and gain the insights of how an e-commerce business
works. But in order to achieve it I have to learn managerial skills and soft skills to efficiently
handle all the situations.
Long term goal: My long term goal is to become an entrepreneur and establish an e-
commerce business. This is something which requires planning, time and in depth knowledge.

Medium term goal: Medium term goals is to work in an existing company for five to six
years in order to understand the working of the business. This would help in gaining the skills
and competency for the future business prospect.
Short term goal: The short term goal is to improve my communication skills, managerial
skills, creativity, problem solving techniques, leadership and time management. All these skills
are essential for the entire personality development. If a person possess all these skills then it
becomes easier for him to handle difficult situations tat may arise in future. It will also lay the
foundation to achieve the long term goal.
1.3 SWOT Analysis
Strengths: The strengths that I possess are good networking skills, financial resources,
determination, passion, leadership, good educational background which is needed for the long
term goal and good managerial skills.
Weaknesses: Some of the weaknesses that has to be removed are ineffective
communication skills, experience and lack of knowledge about the e-commerce industry. These
are hindrances which has to be removed for becoming a successful entrepreneur in future.
Opportunities: Good networks with the people using the same technology, availability
of training, workshops and conferences to develop interpersonal skills and opportunity to attract
customers by offering goods at lower costs. The experience from the job in the same industry
would help in garbing all those available opportunities.
Threats: Slow economic growth, tough competitive environment, technical jargon and
learning all the skills can be time consuming. This can become a threat in accomplishing the
ultimate goal.

It can be concluded from the above report that personality and its development plan play
