PART 1 GROUP WORK ESSAYS
TASK 1 (LO 1.1)
Purpose of organizing training session for the intern
Roles and responsibilities in the creation of the training session
We work as a team and the aim behind the training session is to encourage and motivate
people so that they can help in contributing appropriate outcomes for the hotel.
As a team member, I am responsible to make several posters and charts for the training
session so that to make the event more appreciable.
I am also entitled to make schedule for each and every training session by including list of
people who will be involved with me for this session.
I have to make sure that all the organizational resources are implemented in proper and
optimum manner with the aim of reducing the level of wastage. I will monitor and every session so that I can find out if people are interested in the event.
Responsibilities and Performance objectives for the training session:
The main objective of the training session is to make the staff members and interns
motivated while performing different job roles.
We will maintain disciplinary aspects in the training so that we can adequately present our
ideas regarding motivation at workplace.
The entire team will ensure that participants are taking interest in the session because
through that only suitability of the session can be enhanced.
TASK 2 (LO 4.3)
Impact of training schedule on resources of the organization
The session of motivation needs to be influencing because it is essential for every individual
to become motivated. The resource capability of the hotel will be developed as per the effectual
implementation of the session. It is vital for the trainers to provide adequate training to the interns
so that they can learn different things which are vital for them while managing the work processes.
The schedule that has been made for the interns can assist the trainers to acquire success because
proper space and timing gap is given among all the sessions (Levi, 2010). Hence, this will reduce
the level of boredom and people will take interest in the same session.
Since the training session is on motivation; therefore this will assist the interns to produce
best results for the hotel and as a result, the level of competency can be enhanced. Thus, this will
encourage them to work in proper manner; therefore the capability of organizational resources can
be developed. Motivation is essential for all the employees of the hotel such as room attendants,

waiters, senior managers, department heads and team leaders. It is an apparent fact that employee
always work in prominent manner especially at the time when they are motivated. Hence, in such
respect it is vial for the Peaceful hotel to provide monetary and non monetary benefits such as
appraisals, incentives and appreciations (Reynolds and Weiner, 2009).
Once started, it is essential for Peaceful hotel to continue the process so that optimum
growth and success can be facilitated. Limited time gap can be provided in between the sessions so
that interns can clear all the queries which they have related to the session. People contribute in
producing appropriate results at the time when hotel delivers proper benefits to them. Hence, in
terms of the overall impacts, it can be said that positive output can be derived from employee efforts
and at the same time this is also useful for the purpose of enhancing the capability level of the
interns (Branine, 2008).
TASK 3 (LO 4.1)
Review of the tools and methods that can be used for developing solutions to the problems (Gantt
Chart)
In general, project management can be defined as the tool of initiating, planning, executing,
controlling and closing the work of a team to achieve specific results and outcomes. Operating in
such a competitive environment it is important for the management to carry out project in effective
and efficient manner so that the best possible outcomes can be generated. Herein, Peaceful Hotel is
planning to conduct a training session on routine basis so that current issues and problems can be
resolved and overall functioning of the business can be enhanced (Boselie, Dietz and Boon, 2005).
There are several tools and techniques of project management with the help of which
management can easily analyze the success of project and accordingly makes decisions for the
future contingency. Herein, Gantt chart technique has been used to evaluate and analyze the actual
schedule of training so that present loopholes and issues can be managed and controlled effectively.
Gantt chart in general can be defined as important project management tool which is helpful
in showing activities against the time. In order to carry out project of training session in effective
and efficient manner it is important for the top level management of Peaceful Hotel to make use of
Gantt chart so that activities can scheduled in appropriate way as well as actual time required to
carry out entire training program can be identified (Branine, 2008). There are several benefits of
Gantt chart that should be understood by the manager so that he/she can easily show all the
individual task required to carry out the entire project. Further, it is also beneficial in identifying the
length of time required for each tasks which assist in managing the time and conducting whole
project in the best possible manner.

Critical path:
1+2+3+4+6+7 = 4+2+2+3+3+2 = 16 days
1+3+4+6+7 = 4+2+3+3+2 = 14 days
On the basis of above critical path analysis it can be said that, top level management of
Peaceful Hotel should undertake 1+3+4+6+7 = 4+2+3+3+2 because it will only take 14 days to

PART 2
TASK 1 (2.3 AND 4.2)
Find out solutions for the specific situations
The employees and team leaders are unable to attend the same training session and they
attended only session 1 and session 4; therefore they must have missed something which is
vital for them. They have to manage the work processes in adequate manner; hence the
trainers must look on to the reasons for which they have not attended the same sessions.
Team leaders are required to attend the session of motivation because this will assist them to
encourage the subordinates at the hotel. Being team leaders, they must have busy schedule;
hence changes could be made to the training plan where in dates of the sessions can be
shifted (Fallowfield and et.al., 2002).
Among the five department managers, only two are able to attend the session at a time;
however the room division manager and F&B manager have to complete four weeks
training sessions. They are unable to dedicate time to the subsequent schedule; therefore
sessions needs to be organized on the basis of alternate days. Timings can be changed
because food and beverage manager have a lot of work to do; hence alterations can be made
to the existing schedules (Datta, Guthrie and Wright, 2005).
It is essential for the staff members to attend training sessions that have been organized for
them; however due to lack of time in working days, the sessions can be shifted on weekends
so that everyone can attend the sessions.
If room is not available for training session, then Peaceful hotel has to make arrangement of
another room either in the same hotel or at any other place. Or the hotel can also postpone
the date of the session at the time when the room get vacant (Cartwright, 2003). However,
amid both the options, the suitable one is to change the venue and proper information should
be delivered to all the attendants about the respective places.
In order to overcome the issue, below mentioned Gantt chart has been prepared where in
each and every step is discussed in adequate manner as per the defined activities.
TASK 2 (2.1 & 2.2)
(Need clarification)
TASK 3 (1.2, 1.3, 1.4 AND 3.1, 3.2, 3.3)

1. I have been allotted the responsibility to develop training session for the interns of Peaceful

same time, while working on the particular training event, I learned many things such as
team management, coordination management and communication skills (Figge, et.al., 2002).
As per my job roles, I can say that I have conducted all the tasks in adequate manner and I
have also received certain compliments from my colleagues regrading my team management
skills. Prior implementing the training session, I have framed several objectives and on that
basis, I have performed all my job roles. All such objectives have given me suitable
directions for my research study. However, on the other hand I have also realized that I am
unable to raise my point of viewpoints sometimes because somewhere I do not have that
much confidence level.
2. Though, I performed in adequate manner, still I need to emphasize on several things so that I
can develop range of other skills and capabilities (Kot and Leat, 2008). I will emphasize on
continuous development for my personal and professional growth. It is also essential for me
to develop confidence level so that I can present my opinion as well in team decisions.
Further, I need to become punctual especially at the time when I am working with teams. I
need to emphasize on better communication skills as well so that I can communicate
properly with the team members. The chief area where I should focus should be on time
management aspects because when people in a work, they have to consider everyone's value
of time. Hence these improvements are required for me so that my overall capability for
professionalism can be developed.
3. Team is an association of different people who work together for a common purpose; hence
the chief thing under team management is people management. As, I worked in a team, I
came to know that coordination is must in team management so that the basic aim and
objectives can be fulfilled (Levi, 2010). All the people are required to show concern towards
each other so that they can avoid issues and constraints. We worked as a team and we shared
all the work processes with each other and this allowed us to reduce the level of complexity
from the work practices. Hence, as a team we achieved success by working together with
different people. Team management is necessary because it aids people to encourage each
other for prominent outcomes.
4. Team is a combination of several group members who work together for a common purpose;
however teams can be formulated for specific time period. Our team was developed for a
specific period only and while working in the team, we learned many things regarding team
management (Oakley and et al., 2013).
5. There were several aspects and elements of training which motivated the team members to
attained the training session and enhanced their skills and abilities. First and foremost, self

development and improvement was the element which attracted most of the team members
to attend the session (Reynolds and Weiner, 2009). Further, the support and coordination
through the help of this training the individual achieved encouraged and motivated them to
attained such training more and more. Lastly, the response from top level management of
Peaceful Hotel motivated them to enhance their skills and abilities as well as opportunities
to attain growth in their future as well as carry out the operations of hotel in more better
way.
6. In order to improve team work, it is essential for all the employees to coordinate with each
other in proper manner so that information can be properly communicated from one domain
to another. Focus should also be given towards diversity management so that each and
everyone can respect each other (Wilton, 2011). Similarly, there should be clear
communication among the team members so that they can share each and every thing in the
team appropriately. Apart from this, it is also vital for the team members to show
commitment towards the work process so that the defined aim can be acquired.
