Group Development Process
Bruce Tuckman has proposed a four stage model of group development. The first stage is
the forming phase where various groups meet and discuss the opportunities and challenges. In
this stage, the role of the individuals is not clear and the members need to take guidance from the
managers. The second stage is known as storming and in this stage it can be clearly understood
as to how different decisions are made within the team. In this stage, though the purpose of the
team is not clear but a rough idea can be made of the team. In the third stage, i.e. the norming
stage it becomes easier to understand the relationships in the team. In this stage, the commitment
of the team members for the development and fulfillment of the team goals can also be
understood. In the fourth stage i.e. the performing stage the team members focuses on different
strategies and the team tries to perform well.
Group development process will help me in my future career. I will know how to form
different groups and their roles and responsibilities in different stages. It will help me to become
the team leader of any company and work in accordance with my team members. It will be also
easier for me to build positive and healthy relationships with my team members. I will also know
about the roles and responsibilities of the team leader and thus this will help me to go ahead in
my career.
Team Work
Teamwork is a dynamic process and it involves two or more persons with complementary
skills and backgrounds. It is a very crucial and important part of business. In a team, people
always try to co-operate with each other using their skills and thus provide constructive
feedback. Teamwork also helps in the removal of personal conflict between the individuals.

Teamwork in the organization helps the employees to know each other and also learn how to
work together in a group. This is vital for the employee as well as for the development of the
company. It also helps the employees to understand the roles and responsibilities. In a team, the
work is divided among the team members and each individual gets different kinds of task and
thus it improves their skills. They do not feel monotonous in their work. Team work also helps to
complete the task quickly and efficiently. Team work also helps the company to add more
revenue because the trained and efficient staff can complete the task within the time frame
quickly and deliver quality work.
I can also develop my skills in different job roles when I work in a team. It will also help
me in my career and professional development. Moreover, when I work in a team, I will not feel
monotonous or bored because I will get different tasks. It will also make me more responsible
and I can take the charge of important job roles. It will also help me to develop my efficiency in
that particular job.
