INTRODUCTION
Managing people in organization is very crucial for regulating the functioning of
employees. Managing of employees is generally done by human resource management. The
report will include the problem of high staff turnover in the company SAMSUNG which is to be
eliminated for the better functioning of company and achieving its desired goals.
The report will study, the recruitment and selection process in the company SAMSUNG
and also implementation of induction and training programs in company for the better
performance of its employees. The training seminars can help in the motivation of the employees
and help the companies in getting their more efficient work.
Furthermore, report will study the use of motivation theories by SAMSUNG in its
organization structure. The report also includes the several factors which influence the individual
behaviour of employees on the organization work.
TASK 1 : Recruitment and Selection
Now a days, company need skilled and expertise personnels in order to achieve their
organization goals and objectives. The skilled and educated employee work efficiently in the
organization and complete their task on time. Therefore companies needs a specified and
standardize process in order to select right persons in the organization. The company
SAMSUNG uses following recruitment and selection process in order to recruit employee in
their organizations-
Step-1: Identification of vacancy and evaluate needs- Recruitment of person provides
opportunities to the organization to recruit new talent and better skills in organization. The
effective recruitment in company SAMSUNG helps the company in achieving their organization
goals and objectives (Carroll,2016).
In the process of recruitment, the prime focus is to evaluate the need of the employee for
the specified work and also identify the vacancy in the specified fields. The company
SAMSUNG can identify new positions and also replacement of the person working in the
company earlier and now it is vacant.
Step-2 : Develop description of position-Through this process description of job is developed.
This consist of various requirements in the job of a individual. The company SAMSUNG
recruits the person who are capable of that job and fall under the criteria developed in the

Step-4 : Select Search Committee- Search committee consist of more than one members of the

After the selection of employee, there is requirement of the induction and training

that the company i.e. SAMSUNG can achieve its long term goals and targets. Induction and
training is important for the companies to develop the skills of its employees and help them in
managing their work on time. Training and induction of employees develop their confidence in
doing a specified job and helps in gaining expertise in their respective fields (Kitada and Ölçer,
2015). through the induction and training process employees learns to survive in the hard times
of the companies and also they learn to mange their work when there is no senior.
There can be many difficulties and challenges in the process of undertaking training for
the employees in the company SAMSUNG. For example- the employees are unwilling to attend
their training programmes as they cannot understand the seminars and it is very tough for them.
Also there can be difficulties on the part of trainer where there is unskilled and uneducated
workers work. The company is facing major staff turnover because of low motivation in the
employees.

For eliminating the various problems faced by company SAMSUNG in conducting the
training programmes company can use employee friendly environment in the training process so
that the employees feel comfortable. Also the trainers can use simple language in the training
seminars so that it can be easily understood by all the employees. There must be training and
induction programmes on time to time basis so that there can be simply up-gradation of the
employees in company SAMSUNG (Mayo,2016). For reducing the staff turnover ratio company
can motivate its employees by providing them better leadership motivation.
The different training programs used by the organization SAMSUNG are as follows-
Orientation training- it is the most common and important training given to employees in
SAMSUNG. In includes the welcoming and introducing of new hires to the company
SAMSUNG within first week on the job. The employees in this training program are new and
face difficulties in the learning new outcomes.
On boarding Training- this type of training usually starts on the very first day of job of new
employee. The training is scheduled by department team leaders in order to drag the focus of

Technical Skills Development Training- this training is required by the employees in order to

SAMSUNG have discovered that valuing the employees by creating trust and respect in
them can lead to better performance of work by employees. The positive and interesting work
environment can lead to motivation of workers and thereby increasing the quality of work. At
SAMSUNG, a motivated member of staff not only work for accomplishment of individual goals
but also work for achievement of team objectives. A motivated and satisfied employee will work
for the company in effective manner as compared to the non- satisfied, demotivated employee.
SAMSUNG uses various theories in order to study the motivational behaviour of its
employees which are as follows-
Taylor's motivational theory The theory was published in 1911 by Frederick Taylor,
according to Tylor, people purely work for money. People get motivation from the rewards they
are earning. Therefore in the company SAMSUNG,it uses this theory to motivate its employees.
Also there can be certain other things on which can be priority of the employees in the company
which can be good lifestyles, standardize infrastructure and good working conditions (Moxen
and Strachan, 2017). SAMSUNG provides its employees beyond the theory of Tylor. The
company allows a great amount of remuneration and overtime allowances to its employees in
order to increase their motivation levels. Also the company helps in the overall development of
its employees.
The Mayo effect In 1930 the theorist Elton Mayo suggested that motivation at work can
be promoted by several factors which can be – greater communication, good teamwork, showing
interest in others, involving others in decision making, ensuring the well being of others and

employees at lower rate and also other health benefits. The providing of health benefits
helps the employees to remain fit and healthy which helps in the continuity of work in the
organization and employees feels more motivated to come to work. This improves the
work quality of employees and helps in the achievement of goals by the company. Competitive salaries- SAMSUNG provides the best available salary to its employees
which is the highest salary in the same type of organization thereby increases the
motivation of employees to work for the company (Carroll,2016). Staff discount- also the company provides some relaxation and discount on purchase of
the company product. This brings the felling of satisfaction in the employees and help
them in giving their best result in working.
Company share options- SAMSUNG provides its market shares to its employees at lower
price them other shareholders. This brings the felling of ownership in the employees and
motivates them to earn more earnings indirectly as the company distributes dividends on

leadership qualities must be present in the leaders. Samsung's leader and management
department are very efficient and effective as they have great leadership qualities. They
help the employees of SAMSUNG in accomplishment of allotted task by suggesting them
skills (Reason and Hobbs, 2017). Also, they upgrade their knowledge by conducting
training and development program in the company. They build a friendly relationship
with employees which conveys two way communication in the organisation. Also,
grievances of the employees are taken seriously by the management personnel of
SAMSUNG. This improves employer employee relationship and hence the company is
able to decline their employee turnover ratio (Perri and et. al., 2016). Corporate culture - The corporate culture affects a lot of employees and their working.
SAMSUNG has build up a friendly culture in their work place in which employees can
take participate in managerial decision making. They suggest many ideas and suggestion

individual goals but also organizational goals (Sawalha, 2015). The company recognizes
their efforts and appreciate them for the same. This inspires other employees for
contribution regarding ideas as well as accomplishing tasks.
Communication This is one of the essential factor which helps the company like

SAMSUNG can opt for annual reward and recognition program which motivates

Furthermore report concludes that there are three motivational theories applied by

theory,The Mayo effect and Maslow and Herzberg theories which states that employees are most
