Perception refers to a process of getting, interpreting, selecting as well as organising any
sensory information. The collection of data from sense organs through interpretation by the brain
can also be said to be perception. Whereas motivation is an experience of desire. When someone
wants something, or want to avoid or escape something it is deter mind as motivation contains
both an objective aspect and an internal or subjective aspect. It refers to needs, desires, wants or
drives within an individual (Lang, 2020). There are a number of factors considered here which
shows how does the perception of employee about an organisation effect motivation level of an
employee. It also describes how can it be increased. In order to complete the work assigned in a
company on time motivation of employs plays an important part by the management

Social Perception:
Social perception is the way in which one individual view other, and have an effect on their
behaviour in an organisation. Social perception can be called as target or what is perceived and a
certain level of information which is received in order to make a perspective or an assumption by
an individual in the workplace. There are a number of wrongful social perceptions which can
arise by mistake in one person due to one negative event and lead to problem in organisation. In
Context of Tesla, the managers need to make sure that no employee makes a negative perception
about any other employee in the organisation or any negative perception about the organisation
so that the functioning of organisation can be run smoothly.
Perceptions affecting motivation:
The perception which an employee in an organization develops about other employs can
have a major effect on their motivation level. It might affect the work and productivity of an
employee in a large degree. Motivation within employee is always greater if the employee
perceives that the organization is providing them with a number of opportunities. In order to
make sure about personal as well as professional development of an employee organization
needs to make sure that they are given enough chances to prove their capability they are included
in various organizational decision-making, goal setting processes and so on. Motivation in
employee of and reduces when unemployed things that they are not given enough opportunity to
showcase their talent and skills in an organization (Tippa and Mane, 2020). This is a major

company need to take care of the factor that their employees never lose motivation while
working in an organization. in order to introduce the new modern workplace, it is required by the
managers of Tesla to motivate their employees from time to time take their advices in decision
making as well as go settings and so on.
Changing perception to improve motivation:
It is seen that the productivity and motivation level in an employee is highly affected by the
working conditions which result in causing negative organisational behaviour as well as negative
environment in an organisation. Reducing the size of a groups in an organisation the employer
usually thinks that they have a greater job to do and their import is more. It results in easy
interaction as well as communication in an organisation as well. Social intimacy in between co-
workers and teammates help the manages to improve the work interactions as well as
productivity of employees (Medeiros and et. al. 2020). There are a number of steps which can be
taken by a manager in order to make sure that the employees of the organization feel belonged to
the organization. In context of Tesla while setting up a modern workplace following steps are
taken by managers in order to make sure that motivation level of employs do not decrease due to
perception of organization perceived by them:
Managers of Tesla are making teams and groups of maximum five people. Doing this helps
employees to feel important. Each team is given a task. And each member has specific role to
perform. When this role is completed by the employees, they feel belonged to the
organisation and also that their work is worthy. In large groups usually credit of the work
does always stay with the employee who performs it.
The communication and interaction among the team members becomes easy in small groups.
Small groups are also easy for managers to handle as they can communicate with everyone at
a time.
Managers at Tesla make sure that employees are taking part in major decision-making
processes of the company, this helps them to build a positive perception about organisation in
the mind of employees.
Managers at Tesla make sure that in their new working place employs are included in
objective and goalsetting processes. When the company decides its objectives and aims, they
are taking recommendations from their employs because at the end employs are the one who

between input and output ratio of an employee will determine their job satisfaction. The
inputs include time, loyalty, effort, tolerance, personal sacrifice, skills, determination,
enthusiasm and so on (Reetz and Jongman, 2020). Whereas outcomes include salary,
recognition, press, job security, sense of achievement and so on. It is the duty of managers at
Tesla to make sure that the employs are getting the outputs according to the input they
provide to the organisation so that they never get demotivated.

The importance of perception and motivation in setting up a modern workplace can be
determined from above discussions. It also talks about the relationship which perception of an
employee and their motivation level share. Other than this, the major steps to be taken by
managers at Tesla in order to introduce a modern workplace are also mentioned.
