Performance appraisal is considered as the key to organizational success, as effective
performance appraisal helps in employee engagement and dedication. Effective performance
appraisal allows the organizations to be aware of the needs and expectations of the employees
thereby, taking a step in fulfilling those (Rummler & Brache, 2012).
Findings
According to the given study, it has been seen that the company has been facing
challenges in retaining their employees due to ineffective performance appraisal approaches.
This report provides suitable recommendations of improving the performance appraisal
Zubias threading so that the parlour is able to achieve the targets and serve the customers
satisfactorily.
Recommendations for improving performance appraisal in Zubias threading
Positive, respectful and friendly behavior between the employees and the managers
are crucial in improving performance appraisal (Kondrasuk, 2012). According to the given
case study, it can be said that conflict between the managers and employees are frequently
noticed within the company that is eventually hampering the performance of the employees.

According to the case study, it can also be seen that there is lack of bonding between
the part-time and full-time workers of the parlor. Therefore, it is recommended that steps are
undertaken to improve the relationship between the employees. The positive and strong
relationship between the employees will help them to create a positive and friendly working
environment with healthy competition (Bernardin & Wiatrowski, 2013). Alongside, the
positive relationship will allow the employee to have each other’s back and achieve the target
of the company. This can be achieved successfully by implementing behaviourally anchored
rating scale within the organization. The behaviourally anchored rating scale is a modern
performance appraisal technique that includes quantifiable techniques and essay evaluation
(Dusterhoff, Cunningham & MacGregor, 2014).
As mentioned by Boachie-Mensah & Seidu (2012), essay evaluation is an effective
way of appraising the performance of the employees initially by the managers by considering
the strength, weakness, behavior, and attitudes. Therefore, implementation of essay
evaluation by Zubias threading is recommended for improving the employee performance
appraisal.
Conclusion
In this report, it can be concluded that the suggested recommendations will help
Zubias threading in enhancing their performance appraisal system. Implementing effective
