Presentation
AI Summary
This presentation is a reflective analysis of the practices and situations encountered during the PPMP20008 course, focusing on the process of reflection to improve performance and personality traits. The presentation outlines the concepts of reflection in and on action, detailing the process of gathering lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle, including the involvement of various stakeholders. The author identifies areas where they could have improved, such as better scheduling, documentation, and note-taking, and discusses the importance of a library for research. The presentation also uses a systematic diagram to explain the experiential-action learning process. The presentation then reflects on specific situations like not writing down notes, not clearing doubts with the teacher and time management and lack of confidence in public speaking, offering strategies like maintaining a lessons learned log, preparing checklists, and creating a time table to overcome these challenges. Finally, it provides a comparative analysis of planned versus actual lesson documentation methods, and emphasizes the relevance of the improvement strategies adopted.

Slide 1
The assignment presents reflection of the practices and the situations that were faced or
adopted by us while the completing the activities associated with Course PPMP20008. The
reflection can be defined as the process which enables us to look into our actions closely and
analyse them. The good actions can be improved and the strategies can be designed and
adopted for actions that did not go well. This helps in the improvement of our performances
and personality traits (Boparai, et al., 2011). It is rightly said that “We do not learn through
experiences, we learn from the reflection of the experiences”. The presentation includes the
situations faced by me during the completion of this course and provides the reflection for
them. It also helped me design the strategies that I can adopt to improve my performance next
time so that those mistakes do not get committed again.
Slide 2
This picture gives an account of the process of reflection. As it can be seen in the picture,
there are two types of reflection- one is reflection In action and the other is reflection On
action. The reflection in action includes reflecting on an action as something happens. For
this, first the situation needs to be considered and the actions that are needed for its remedy
need to be taken on an immediate basis. The Reflection On action includes the process of
reflecting after something happens. For this, first the situation needs to be re-considered and
the things that need to be changed in future need to be determined (Cambridge International
Education Teaching and Learning Team , 2018).
Slide 3
Initially before joining the course, I planned to collect and identify the lessons learnt y the
end of second third and fourth week respectively. I thought the professors and lecturers,

colleagues and guest faculties will be involved in the process of gathering lessons. I planned
that I will document the lessons using the following means-
Maintaining lessons learnt logs
Using formal templates
Mentoring
Coaching
Reflective journals
Slide 4
Actually, I identified and collected most of the lessons learnt throughout the life cycle of the
project; but specifically by the end of 11th and 12th week. The process of gathering lessons
actually involved a lot of people including stakeholders of the companies we conducted the
projects for, sponsors, leaders, the professors and lecturers, colleagues and guest faculties and
many others. The following methods were implemented for documenting the lessons-
Audits and health checks
Reflective journaling and Mentoring / Coaching
Preparing lessons report
Using categorization aids – POTI diagram, Fishbone diagram etc.
Using formal templates- surveys, lessons learnt log and checklists;
Meetings and Facilitated workshops
Slide 5
When I reflect on my actual lessons learnt process, I feel that I lacked in preparation of a
correct schedule or structure of learning and in proper documentation or capturing of notes

for each lecture. I think I could have planned a schedule for going through the new lessons as
will revising the previous lessons to learn in a flow.
When I reflect on the common issue of having no library, I feel that this was one of the
biggest mistakes as it posed the difficulty for me to retrieve the notes of previous
classes/lectures. I feel this interrupted my learning process as a library is the best place to
research data and prepare notes conveniently.
Slide 6
The slide presents a systematic diagram to show the experiential- action learning process.
The first step in this process is to describe the situation or experience in an elaborated
manner so that the situation can be broken down into fragments fro a better analysis
and reflection.
The second step is the reflection. The problem is reflected upon with one’s own
perspective. This provides an impression of the entire thought process.
The third step is abstract concepts where the present perceptions are modified and
strategies are planned to develop the processes further.
The last step is testing the concepts where the performance of the strategies is
determined using tools and techniques for measurement (Gray, 1999).
Slide 7
This part is about reflection and reflective practice about the learning processes. This
slide describes the situation that was faced within PPMP20008 project. The situation
described here gives an account of the disadvantages faced while not writing down
the notes during the class.
The situation made me feel frustrated, angry and helpless.

From reflecting on the situation, I learnt that the notes from the lecture provide its gist
in our own language, which makes the topic easy to understand for us.
Slide 8
The specific improvement strategy is that I must prepare a lessons learnt log or simply
write down the important points and elaborate them later through research (Northern
College, 2018).
I would know the strategy was working through the marks obtained in the weekly
assessments.
This strategy is achievable for me because I have a good speed of writing and I can
listen and write together with almost same concentration.
This strategy is relevant to lesson 1 as it will reduce the burden from me at the time of
exams.
I will implement this strategy on an everyday basis while attending the lectures and
elaborating the concepts at home.
Slide 9
The method of dealing with the situation and development of the strategy is similar for this
lesson as well. The reflective method will be similar in this lesson to that of lesson 1. this
situation highlights the importance of clearing doubts with the teacher and becoming
confident.
Document Page
Slide 10
The improvement strategy for this situation is preparation of the checklist of the doubts and
queries and keeps checking the doubts that are cleared. This method will be implemented
once in a week.
Slide 11
The third situation deals with the time management. The assignments must be completed
within the time frame and I need to understand the importance of time management while
doing the assignments (Elliot, 2013).
Slide 12
The improvement strategy for this situation is preparation of a time table and distribution of
the time as per the complexity of the topic. This strategy must be implemented from the day
the assignment is assigned to me.
Slide 13
This situation reflects my lack of confidence while presenting something in front of the
public. It made me realize the necessity for the improvement in my public speaking skills and
boosting up my level of confidence.
Slide 14
The improvement strategy involves taking part in the group discussions and presentations in
the class. It will boost the level of confidence in me and improve my public speaking skills.

Slide 15
This presentation provides a comparative analysis of the measures that were planned
by me for documenting the lessons learnt versus the actual way of documenting
lessons learnt.
The presentation also helped to analyse the situations faced by me during the
completion of the project and reflecting on them.
Improvement strategies were adopted for each situation and proved with their
relevance.
