There are number of ways by which we can provide support to people who have some kind of
disability such as: listening to them, asking specific questions, making them feel valued and
comfortable by talking about interesting areas. Knowing their hobbies and engaging them in
them. Some principles include: do not make them feel de-valued and follow all rules of anti-
discrimination act.

being treated in an unfair manner then they become depressed. By protecting them from

In regard to Kylie, I can say that she was seen as a different person within 3 days. First day
when she went for shopping, shoe shouted on me and also frightened other people.
Her behaviour became very strange on second day as she threw her breakfast through
window. It made her parents disturbed as her mother was crying and for making Kylie feel
good I planned a film and picnic but she said bad word that made me surprised.

When I was ready and all set to take her out for picnic, her father called me and told me that
they did not sleep last night and Kylie as well as they are not in a mood so there is no need to
come home and go out.
Next day, when I went to meet Kylie then I saw again she became normal. Her drastic mood
swings made me surprised and I believe that it is all because of her disability.
b. On the basis of this observation, it can be said that her behaviour was escalating as she was
yelling, shouting, throwing items and it was seen on day 2nd after the day when I bought her a
new pair of red shoe.
c. As I know that kylie is suffering from intellectual disability and I found some reasons that
can make this situation worse. On the basis of factors, I can say that reasons of her de-
escalated behaviour on 2nd day was: influence of social environment.
