Person Centred Experiential (PCE) therapy is included in group of therapies and are
based on humanistic-existential psychology. The idea behind the approach is that people are self-
motivated and encouraged in order to attain their goals and function positively if all the
conditions in their lives are supportive and in their favour. This theory was given by the Carl
Roger who was a psychotherapist and a writer, he gave two books on the same and worked a lot
in the field of education. Carl Roger was nominated for Nobel peace prize for his contribution to
the world of psychology. He is still considered as one of the most influential psychologists of all
time and many for the psychologists take him as their inspiration.
The main idea behind Person Centred Experiential (PCE) therapy is that it is a theory of
actualising tendency. It states that people are self-motivated in order to be most potential and live
life as a successful human being or individual. These kind of persons who are encouraged
themselves are always open and eager to learn new things in their lives, they will be very excited
to learn and explore more things about themselves, take their responsibilities and of their actions.
Along with it such individuals are able to build effective and healthy relationships with the
people around them. Overall such self-motivated and encouraged individuals or human being are
very active and wishes to learn new things regularly. They wishes to explore new developments
in themselves and work on it for achieving a positively psychological functioning.

Person Centred Experiential (PCE) therapy is related to the behaviour of individual of
being motivated by themselves, take responsibilities of their actions and build close relationships
with others. This approach is related to myself and me as a human being in a way because I am
also, of a open nature and keep myself motivated. In my past experiences in my job role I have
learned many new things out of which some of them are pre-existed in me and few of them are
developed or the results of my regular learning attitude. I am willing to work with approach of
regular learning and open mind. I am always willing to learn new things and be motivated which
helped me in developing new skills and talents within myself and that ultimately helped me
move forward in my career. My personality was positively affected by the implication of this
approach I made connections with new people, developed healthy relationship with them and
took many good steps in my personal and professional life. This approach fit me and my

personality, as I am a regular learner, takes all responsibility of my action either personal or
professional and be create healthy relationships with everyone who are around me which keep
the work environment positive and safe.s
