Week 5 discussion
Person situation trait is one of the most important aspects that must be studied in the
modern day scenario. This is mainly because of the fact that there can be different debates or
quarrels that arise within the personal and also in the professional scenario because of the fact
that there must be some negotiation methods or some methods known to all through which they
can solve these issues. It must be noted that different people have different kinds of temperament
and nature. This gives rise to the different emotions among them. It is because of this reason that
they must be able to understand the different traits and the situations that may act as the factors
of the change among the people. I am thankful to our University and the professors as well for
including such interesting and also useful chapters in our course.
This knowledge will help me at every step in life. I feel that I will be able to change my
understandings and my thoughts as per the different situations that are arising in the surroundings
(Booth & Murray, 2018). As I am of a very shy nature, I tend to escape the situations and feel
problems in speaking much. However this is not right. This is mainly because of the personality
that I have. I will have to make sure that I am not being able to work over my personality trait
and also improve over the different shortcomings or the issues that are present there in my
character. In future, while working in any industry, it will be concern to make sure that I am
assessing the personality and the understanding of the involved parties in any conflicts
(Shibutani, 2017). It is only after the overall and the in dept personality analysis that I will be
able to find out the solution measures or the resolution measures. I will have to ensure that the
surroundings are also taken into account. Debates often arise due to the different changes or the
modifications that are arising in the social settings or the surroundings. I will always try to
ensure that there is a thorough training of personality understanding and analysis before the

negotiations or the conflict resolutions are being undertaken to solve the different conflicts that
are arising. There can be different situations around individuals that will be making some
changes or some transformations within them and also help them to become a better person from
a negative or a bad person (Hopwood, Pincus & Wright, 2019).

This is a very useful post. I would like to thank you for helping me to get a good amount
of information about the different aspects of personality. I feel that all the students must take a
proper look into the response posted by Brittany Holland. I agree to you that there are three
different aspects present within personality of all the individuals in general (Roy et al., 2020).
The first is consistency that is the set of qualities that always remain stable in the Individual. I
have seen that one of the constant set of quality or aspect within me is empathy. I am always
empathetic towards others and I try to help everyone that is around me. However I have also seen
that there is a change in my behavior or nature if someone hurts me constantly. In other words if
I get to see that one is taking the undue advantage of my help then I will surely try to change my
attitude. This justifies the opinion of (Diener & Lucas, 2014) Walter Mischel wrote the
Personality and Assessment in 1968 that consistency is not related with personality shaping.
Babies also have the tendency to behave in a different way in different situations.

As per my perception this is also a very useful post. I completely agree with the view
shared here in the post. I feel that personality is a thing that is influenced both by the inherent
traits and also the situations that are present. A change in the situation or the surroundings can
actually have a very strong impact on the usual ways in which the individuals act. People who

are otherwise very reserved and introvert might lose their calm and show an emotional outburst
if they are under huge stress or pressure (Tasselli & Kilduff, 2018). Therefore I feel that the
inherent traits are surely a part of the personality of all the individuals but at the same time, this
is also a fact that personality can undergo many changes based on the situations.
