Introduction
This report is aim to develop a personal development portfolio for a student. It
is an structured plan that is made by an individual to analyze their own performance,
learning and the performance. This report will contain the importance of
communication and a particular communication channel that helps to convey the
message effectively. There will also be discussion on the importance of the team
skills audit (Gianfredi and et.al., 2018). Along with that there is evaluation of the
student who is the student of business management in higher education. At last of
this report there will be the discussion of the various skills and models in relation to
the personal development.

It is an agreement between the leader and the members of the team that how
the work of team will be carried out.

Importance of communication in establishing effective team
Effective communication plays an important role in sharing the plans, ideas,
thoughts and opinions to the various team members. This helps in achieving the goal
of the team as everybody in the team will be aware about the plan and the duties.
Effective leaders also helps in encourage the talent and creativity of the different
members in the team. Good communications skills helps the leaders to motivate and
boost the morale of the team members in the team which results in the
accomplishing the objective. Through effective communication leaders can develop
the skills in the team members and they also encourage them to bring new
innovations and ideas into the team work.
Preferred Communication methods (e.g., Canvas forum, Messenger, WhatsApp)
The team agreed to use a mixture ways to communicate. The main medium of
communication is via whats app because it is easily accessible. The team agreed
to also communicate via mail when sharing documents and work completed. But
one of the convenient way to communicate with the team members is whats app.
Functions of this app is very easy to use and anyone can learn how to use it . This
communication channel is very cost-effective as it does not charge any cost while
using it for the purpose of communication. Team can easily co-ordinates on the
whats app by making the particular group in which the leader can assign the duties
and conveys the new ideas to each member of the team. This tool of
communication is very effective in order to communicate with each and every
member of the employees.
Team Meetings (where/how will you meet? How often? How will they be run?)
Due to covid 19 and different dynamics among the team members such as work,
child care, travel etc, the team agreed to utilize online meeting platforms so as to
accommodate everyone
The team meetings will be conducted online via whats app, Messages are being
sent into the groups before the starting of the meeting. Team used to come on the
whats app video calls to co-ordinate with the each other. It is very effective way to
communicate as every team member can have face to face interactions with the
each other. Leaders of the team can effectively tells the action plan and ideas to in

order to conduct the work of the team (Waisbord, 2019). Team meetings are
usually conducted every week on the whats app video calls. There is a
requirement of good network connection for conducting the meetings on the whats
app video calls.

What a team skill audit
Skill audit can be defined as framework used to analyzing the potential and
skills of the employees by various methods like questionnaire or face to face
interactions. It focuses on to find the gaps in the knowledge of the employees that
can affects the long-term success of an organizations or company. Team skill audit
can be defined as finding the real potential and skills of the members that can helps
to achieve the target of the team work. This helps to develop the carriers of the
members and helps them to gain more success in the future.
The importance of a team skill audit
Team skill audit is very important to analyzing and finding the skills of the
members through which they can assigned the duty that can match their ability. This
helps to link the goal of the team work with the skills of the employees. This will
facilitate the team to be more futuristic as it focus on the members to develop new
ideas and innovation in the working of the team (Downs, DeWine and Greenbaum,
2020). By auditing the skills of team members, leaders get to know about the needs
of training and development in the team.

Business management is a higher education course which is necessary for
the students to attain higher level of understanding about managing the business. It
includes all the essentials topics related to management, business principles and

out the skills and potential to run a business successfully. It entails a lot of skills and
attributes to be an effective learner as being a student of business management. To
be an effective student, I need to be attentive in taking the sessions and lectures to
not miss any important topic. In higher education, it includes various attributes to
carry out own learning in the business field. For that instance, I need to have skills
like presentation, communication, group working and IT knowledge. There is
requirement of the effective skills which are necessary to attempt the business
management solutions and apply them in making projects and giving exams. The
universities are required to have self esteem and driven skills to attend the class
(Helens-Hart,, 2018). I must be responsible for my own work and give best to
complete tasks on time. It entails a lot of courage and dedication to manage the work
pressure and keep balance in their personal life. The students who do not have self
driven and adhere to responsibility, they will set back in the class and the studies as
well. To be a good management student, the individual must seek assistance with
their teachers or peers. The more they would be out of the doubts, the more they will
easily learn the concepts and apply it into the practical working.
A lot of skills are required to be an effective students such as communication,
time management, decision making and team working. These are the four crucial
skills which sets great advantage to for on learning in the university. The college
provide a lot of opportunities to take participate in the debates, group activities role
plays and a lot of activities which involve people interaction, learning new knowledge
and join university programs for consultancy. Therefore, the skills will be utilize here
effectively to cooperate with other students and make their opinion valuable and
listened. Time management skills is very crucial to perform the task or work given by
the tutors and teachers. This would be done through ensuring great efforts for
preparing time slots to give each activity a priority. Managing time is necessary to
submit projects on time which is an attribute of being a great management student.
There is requirement of the skills which ensures that, I have been working on
improving them and getting full subject knowledge (Lawrence,and Hall, 2018). This
could be done through analysis business potential within my practices and I would

develop effective research skills. This will enhance my knowledge that would lead to
showcase the need for further improvement. Also, I must have reliable knowledge of
understanding feedback from others. This strategy helps in identifying the good and
bad aspects of the criteria. It require consultation practices which assures that team
is working fine and what are some problems making trouble in their working, this
shows that while being a student I have developed these essential skills to carry out
my learning in the selected course filed to enhance the knowledge and apply it on
my learning practice.

me to achieve personal and future success.
1. Team work: This skill has acquired through the completion of this module
which will be helpful in undertaking success. Team work is become necessary
in every aspect of life whether to do jobs or running own business. An
individual could not fulfill the goals and objectives without being a part of a
team. This includes having good communication among peers, keep mutual
understanding, provide support and assistance and listen to everyone's
problems are queries (McGill, Heikkila, and Lazarowicz, , 2020). I will use this
skill in my learning in my professional working to manage and run the
business successfully. My aim is to establish my own business which could
only be possible by working with specialized people and keep them motivated.
2. Communication; customer services: This acquisition of skills is one of the
crucial in the business management. I have learned that business is all about
giving best services to the customers by listening to their queries and keep
them in contact through regular communications. This skill will help me in
generating great relationship with customers which well be beneficial for me to
attain my goals of profitability (Amundsen, and ’Amico, 2019).
Communication Is vital in every relation whether it is business or personal to
keep people in close touch. Therefore, it is necessary to provide customer
services highly intended to secure their trust and retention.
3. Research: This skill is also highly beneficial in order to use in achieving future
career path. In the era of internet and technology, research is become
necessary to learn new things and solve business problems. This shows that
this skill will help me to research about the market by analyzing problems and
