1.0 Self-reflection on personal learning and development, and the transferable skills
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal learning and development
The personal learning and development is related with the process of self
improvement which helps in increasing awareness knowledge and capabilities of an
individual. Personal development helps in improving the overall personality of a person in
order to perform the future roles and responsibilities in an efficient manner (Borisenkov,
Gukalenko and Pustovoitov, 2019). To enhance in my career, it is important for me to get
engaged in personal learning and development. For this purpose, I undertake various online
as well as offline courses so that I can learn necessary skills and knowledge in an efficient
manner. Apart from this, I also interact with ample of people who are more knowledgeable
and expert more than me to gain experience and knowledge from them. In addition to this, I
always engage in learning new advanced concept so that I can grow in the career in future
period of time.
1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed by attending this module
Transferable skills are those which can be easily transferred from one person to
another person. These skills play a major role in ensuring career growth and success of a
person. In other words, these skills and abilities are helpful in different areas of life such as
socially, personally and professionally (Fourie, 2019). In addition to this, these skills are
utilised in several jobs and industries to perform the rules and responsibilities. In this context,
necessary transferable skills are mentioned below.
Leadership skills: These skills make a person enable to guide as well as lead others.
While studying in the course, I got opportunity to take part in different class activities where I
used to play the role of team leader. Here, I used to guide, support as well as direct my team
members which enhanced my leadership capabilities. The ability to lead others will help me
in working teams in an efficient manner in future period of time.
Teamwork: It refers to the ability of a person to work in a group of different
individuals. Here, two or more people work together in order to accomplish the common
goals(Firth, 2020). During the learning program, I learned teamwork skills as I got the
opportunity to work in such a team which includes diversified people. It improved my ability

to interact with others. As a result, now, I am able to work in groups at work place. It will
enhance my opportunities of getting growth and success in future period of time.
Communication: Communication refers to exchange the information between two or
more people. It enhances the flow of information with an organization and helps in attaining
growth. While studying in the module, I learned how to communicate others in an impressive
way (Sackett and Gano-Overway, 2017). Here, different activities were organised by the
instructor which allowed me to interact with different people. Apart from this, I also learned
regarding the different models and theories of communication which improved my overall
communication skills and also contribute in future enrichment.
1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies, personal life and the
workplace
Skills play a major role in the overall development of a person. In current time,
competition has been increased in the job market. Hence, it is important to have necessary
skills and capabilities (Firth, 2020). During the learning, I realized that I was lacking in ample
of areas which can affect my future growth opportunities. In this context, the skills, I am
looking forward to develop during academics are given below:
Time management skills: I found that my time management skills was not up to the
mark which affect my ability of preparing an appropriate schedule. Through the learning
module, I am looking forward to enhance my time management skills so that I can prepare
the suitable schedule in order to accomplish the assigned work in timely manner.
Decision making skills: My decision making skills are not up to the mark due to
which I cannot take timely and effective decisions. It affects my ability to grab the
opportunities of business success and deal with the future uncertainties. Here, I am looking
forward to develop necessary decision making skills in order to take timely and effective
decisions in order to deal with future uncertainties in an efficient manner.
Presentation skills: During the module, I wish to improve my presentation skills so
that I can present the products or services to the customers effectively. It will improve my
opportunities to grow in the my career and also make me enable to put a positive impression
on my peers and colleagues in future time.

Question 1) What was the development activity?
The development activity was based on enhancement of communication skills. Here, I got the
opportunity to interact with ample of people. During the activity, it was required to complete the
given task within pre-defined time which was based on the evaluation of time management skills of
the participants.
Question 2) What was I expecting to learn?
I was expecting to learn decision making skills so that I can take meaningful and productive
decisions based on the assessment of the available situation. I was expecting to meet different people
in order to get new knowledge and experience to grow in the future career in an efficient manner.
Question 3) What I have learned?
I have learned communication skills as I interacted with several people having different mindset and
perception. Apart from this, I also learned how to prepare a proper schedule in order to accomplish
the task in timely manner
