1. Highlighting and reflecting upon my approaches to personal learning,
development of skills and experiences
Personal development can be explained as the development of the skills and abilities
of an individual in terms of achieving their goals and objectives in their academics, career or
life. Personal development is necessary for the growth of an individual and enhancing their
abilities for achieving their goals effectively and efficiently. Personal, academic and career
development involves the improvement and enhancement of composite skills that are helpful
in achieving the goals of an individual effectively and efficiently. The personal development
basically includes the skills and knowledge for operating in a given field of work like,
communication, time management, problem solving, analytical thinking etc. for achieving
personal aims and objectives. The report includes the competencies and skills that are
needed by an individual for achieving success in their professional career or academics. In
this contact, it will reflect on the approaches that are important to enhance the learning and
development activities of an individual. Moreover, it identifies skills and abilities that I already
have and the skills that I obtained from the process. Furthermore, it has explained about the
skills that I should develop during my academic and personal career. For this purpose, a
personal development process and improvement log will be provided in the report with an
accurate action plan to do so. Personal development is primarily explained as the
development of skills and knowledge of an individual through the learning and development
process to achieve desired goals and objectives effectively. The L&D is very effective in
enhancing the skills and knowledge of an individual to achieve personal, academic or
professional success (Burns, Maier, S. and Sinfield, 2020).

Self-learning and self-evaluation is an approach that can be helpful to an individual
for improving their personal learning of skills and gaining knowledge for their development.

already have and that need to be developed during my module and course work.
Communication skills: Communication refers to the ability of an individual to
exchange information with each other with a clear definition of meaning. I determined

performance during the program and getting better results.

requires a complicated assessment of individuals' needs. I have developed many skills
during my academics and personal life that could be helpful in career growth, which are as

and enhance their performance and voluntary engagement at their work for attaining
the goals and objectives effectively and efficiently. The leadership skills have
provided me with the opportunities for handling the groups by proper monitoring,
motivation, coaching, teamwork, and many other skills. The leadership skills help an
individual to improve the performance while working in a team and maximize their
efforts through team building and team leading through personal development.
Self-reflection: It refers to thinking about the opportunities and professional and
personal properties for examining and learning the needs for achievement by
developing the skills of an individual through understanding their deficiencies. Self-
reflection is helpful in evaluating the performance and identifying the gaps in the
performance so that the gaps can be covered for maximizing the efficiency of an
individual.
Professional skills: It refers to the knowledge about the field of career and the
learnings through experiencing in that field (Jansen, and et. al., 2021). The
development of professional skills is very important for me to contribute better
towards the achievement of organizational goals and improve my overall
performance at work. This could be helpful in securing my employment opportunity in
