1.0 Self-reflection on personal learning and development,
and the transferable skills
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal
learning and development
Personal learning and development is defined as how a person develops its
own skills and abilities. Personal development consists of activities which help in
developing a person’s capabilities and potential. This also helps in enhancing the
quality of life both personally and professionally. Personal development also helps in
developing the aspects as to how effectively and in significant manner an individual
grow and develops (Oddone and et.al., 2019). This also helps in enhancing and
developing the abilities at large scale. Personal development and learning is the
process of self – improvement which focuses on building up the awareness,
knowledge and skills which helps in creating the overall sense of being an individual
and helps in achieving an identity.
It is very important that the individual’s personal learning and development
helps in creating value for knowing self more in terms of developing the scale
personally. With the help of personal learning, an individual creates value for own
learning process by assessing the strengths, skills and interests. Learning and
development helps in knowing the aspects as to how the changes are being
observed and the ways in which an individual is concerned about development of
self. My approach towards personal learning and development is that I need to learn
some of the business and management skills which will help me in developing my
career and will help me grow and develop my skills and abilities (Park and et.al.,
2020). With the help of personal learning and development, I will be able to develop
some major skills and knowledge which will help me in knowing my learning and
growth in both personal and professional lives. Through personal learning and
development there will be ways which will help me in knowing what my strengths and
weaknesses. The aim of creating value for personal learning and development are
analyzed as how effectively and in appropriate manner the changes can be taken
place in personal learning process for future and for career development also.
Therefore, it is very important for me to learn something new and develop my
own personal skills and knowledge which helps in creating value and contributing
towards my life. The aspects of growth and development are concerned for denoting

that personal learning is very important for denoting the aspect as to how
development can be done on personal level and with help of this, weaknesses are
also improved at large scale. Personal development also helps in building the career
and professional life by improving the skills and knowledge at large scale (Roche,
2018). There are some important management and business skills which are to be
enhanced and improved so that I am able to create value of my work in both
personal and professional life. Therefore, it is very important that personal learning
and development will help in evaluating the aspects of growth and development both
personally and in professionally. Personal learning and development are analyzed
and evaluated at the scale as to how weaknesses can be improved effectively and in
appropriate manner. Thus, personal learning and development is very necessary for
me.
1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed
by attending this module
Transferrable skills are the skills which may be used in a variety of roles and
occupations. The transferrable skills which I have already developed are – personal
motivation, listening, numeracy skills and analytical skills. These are the skills which I
have developed and these have helped me in knowing that personal learning and
development is very necessary through which I have been able to develop these
skills (Schultz and et.al., 2019). These transferrable skills have helped me in
progressing towards knowing that how effectively and in appropriate manner
personal development and learning is done. I have learned how I am able to
motivate myself towards working on something new and accepting the changes as to
how effectively I am engaged towards learning new skills and developing knowledge.
The transferrable skills which I have developed have helped me in knowing
that my personal and professional life which is my career have improved and the
manner in which all major qualities which I have as a person are improved at large
scale. The transferrable skills which I have developed by attending this module has
also initiated growth and development factors in me through which I am able to
create value for knowing the aspects of growth and development which are observed
within (Olsen and et.al., 2019). My transferrable skills have improved me personally
and are helping in my career which is analyzed at large scale. The transferrable

skills which I have developed have increased confidence in me and have created
value of my skills and abilities which I have gained so far. The main reason which is
being considered is known as how effectively and in appropriate manner the
transferrable skills have been developed and in manner which is helping me to attain
the success both personally and in professional manner. With the help of
transferrable skills, I am able to achieve and grow more on grounds of self -
development and self – learning process. The numeracy and analytical skills have
helped me in knowing the major aspects as to how the technical knowledge is being
gained and the manner in which all measures of growth and personal development
are known at large scale.
This has also helped me in analyzing my strengths and weaknesses while
learning the developing the scales and measures as to how transferrable skills are
achieved (Ruuskanen and et.al., 2018). These skills also helped me in knowing that
all measures and all aspects of creating value and developing the skills such as
analytical and numerical skills, personal motivation and listening skills are important
in creating value for personal and professional development. With the help of these
transferrable skills, there are major elements of improvement in me that I am able to
know and develop these skills at large scale. Therefore, with the help of these
transferrable skills, I was able to apply my learning of these kills in my career which
helped me seek growth and development. By listening and motivation skills, I am
able to perform much better in my career and personal life with full efficacy and self –
development.
1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies,
personal life and the workplace
There are some very important skills which I would like to develop during my
academic studies, personal life and the workplace. The skills which I would like to
develop are – communication skills, time – management skill, leadership skills,
problem – solving skills, creativity skills. These are some of the skills which I would
like to develop so that I am able to manage and improve my skills at large scale.
These skills will help me improve my personal life and will also help me enhance my
work in professional life at workplace (Zaghloul, 2018). With the help of these skills, I
will be able to learn many new things as this will help me in improving my confidence

at large scale. My main aim is to learn the skills which are mentioned above so that I
am able to create value in my learning process and development is seen in my
performance while in the career and at workplace. I am very poor at communication
which makes it my weakness which is why I need to learn how effectively I can
communicate at large scale. This will help me in knowing that communication is very
important for my career growth and development (Cavalheiro and et.al., 2019). I am
also weak in managing my daily time routines which creates problem for me to
manage my time effectively. Therefore, I need to learn how to manage time
effectively so that I am able to perform my daily tasks and activities in an appropriate
manner. This skill will also help me in my professional career and will help me in
developing the manner in which daily schedule is distributed by managing the time. I
also need to learn some leadership skills as they are very important in developing
my career so that I am able to lead the individuals in manner which helps me in
knowing that all the tasks and activities can be done by leading the individuals in
proper manner.
The other skills which are problem - solving skills and creativity skills which I
need to learn so that I am able to create value for the aspect as to how I will be able
to solve the problems and how my creativity skills will be improved at large scale. I
need to learn these skills so that I am able to deliver my role of being in an admin
support (Rodrigues and et.al., 2021). With the help of development of these skills
and abilities I will be able to deliver the best manner in which I am developing my
role in being prospective admin supporter. I need to develop these skills which will
help me in knowing that all major concerns of being in an admin support are
analyzed effectively and in appropriate manner. The manner in which I will be able to
create value for my role is by learning and developing the skills which are required
by me in delivering my role in the education sector. Therefore, I need to improve
some of the major skills for my role.
