Introduction:
This template should be used to record your reflections on the weekly sessions.
Please use the spaces provided to reflect on what was discussed in class, what you
gained from the session; did you find the content useful; how can you relate it to your
studies at university as a business student. You will also need to discuss how you
intend to further develop the skills discussed in class. This is a continuous process
and should be completed during the module and not at the end.
In week 8 you will be expected to submit what you have completed so far, via
ULearn, to receive feedback. You will then complete weeks 9 to 10.
The Weekly Reflective Journal will be used in conjunction with your Personal
Learning and Development Plan and Interview to work out the final grade for this
module. The Reflective Journal and PDP will be summatively submitted in week 14
on Blackboard. Submission of all parts of the assessment are required in order to
receive a grade.

Week 1
Please describe in less than 200 words what was discussed in this session and how you plan to
develop these skills.
During the first week of the session I learned about the business and the different types of
businesses. This enables me to have knowledge regarding the different ways in which the
different business perform their activities. I have learned that there are different types of
business organizations, and they adopt the suitable working scenario. The business
approaches the different sources for allocating the capital. The learning and understanding from
this week enables me to have the skills regarding critically analysing. Different business
organizations adopts different working scenario and this can be done in effective manner by
adopting the effective observing power in which the market is observed. This concept clears my
vision of the importance related to the critical analysation.
Week 2

In the week 2, I learned about the importance of planning and strategy in the business. This
topic during the 2 week enables me in knowing the concept of planning. The planning is the
vital element is the business as all the activities that are done practically in the business is the
part of planning. And the concept of strategy helped me in the better understanding of the ways
in which the goal has been achieved. The learning during this session has created a desire in
me in relation of creating the planning related to my goals and along with this I will create the
different strategies that will help in the achievement of my goal in the set time.
Week 3

develop these skills.
In the 3 week, the importance of understanding the business environment has been leaned by
me. In this session I acquired the knowledge related to the importance of understanding the
micro and macro environment for running the business activities in smooth manner. This
session has enabled me in knowing that the micro environment plays an important role in
affecting the different aspects of the business as the factors of the micro environment is directly
link up to the business. During this portfolio, I realised, that it is so important to observe the
environment in which the business is established as this plays the important role in the success
of the business. From this session, I made a plan in relation of developing my research skill
about every task. The proper research helps in understanding and performing the task in
effective manner.
Week 4

In week 4, I learned about the marketing strategies that are required to add glory in the
performance of the business. This topic clears my vision related to the concept of the
marketing. Earlier, I used to thought that the market is not an important element in the business.
But, at the end of the week I gain proper knowledge regarding the importance of the marketing
in the business. The market strategy results in increasing the market share in the business. The
marketing strategies are the base of adding the glory in the business. This learning has enabled
me to develop the skills regarding the understanding of every aspect that is related to the goal
for which all the plan has been decided. I will understand each and every aspect of my goal in
effective manner.
Week 5

In week 5, the writing skills and reflection writing has been learned by me. This week enabled
me to have the better knowledge of writing and the importance of writing practices. The writing
practices place an important role in the professional development of the student. In this session,
I learned about the ways in which the writing can be improved and along with this I learned
about the importance of reflective writing. The reflective writing helps in expressing the own
thoughts and ideas in relation of particular topic. This week has enabled me in developing the

writing skills in me.
Week 6

develop these skills.
During this week, I learned about the different department in the business. This week has
cleared my vision in relation of working in the group. The different department in the business
such as HR, finance, marketing, operations and sales individually perform their task. But all the
department are working towards the one main objective of the organization. This topic has
enabled me in having better knowledge regarding the importance of the working in team. When
all the departments of the business works within cooperating each other, then it results in
providing effective result. I planned to develop the skill related to working in group.

During this week I learned about the importance of allocating the finance in the business. There
are various sources of allocating the finance but the business use that source that ensures the
profit to the business. (McKeever,2018). Therefore, the complete analysation has been done
by the business in order to select the most suitable source. This learning has improved my
vision in relation of choosing the different alternative for the goal and then evaluating all the
alternatives for the better result. I will apply this concept in achieving my goals.

This journal should be formatively submitted for feedback, via ULearn, at the end of this week.
During this session I learned that the input of finance in the business leads to the output. The
effective output of the business is determined by the level of input has been taken in the
business. (Denysenko and et.al., 2019). This week has helped me in knowing that the rate of
input affects the rate of output. The effective allocation of finance ensures the effective cash
flow in the company and this further ensures the effective raw materials and this leads to
creation of the effective output in the business. I planned to develop a skill that is related to
giving maximum effort in my learning as an input so, I will get the better result as output.

During this weak I leaned about the importance of the organizational culture in the
organization. This week enabled me in gaining the knowledge in relation of the importance
of adopting the effective organizational culture as it impacts the success rate of the
business. (Firestone, 2020). The organizational culture determines the behaviour of the
employees in the business. It also helps in implementing the effective communication in the

organization. This learning has created a desire in me in relation to get surrounded by
those people who are highly focused towards their career and adopting the effective
communication skills. This helps in understanding the perception of the people.
Week 10

During this week I gain a knowledge about making business proposal. This enabled me to have
knowledge about the ways that has to kept keen focus in establishing the effective business.
During this week, also learned that how social media or online platform plays an important role
in the success of the business. (Cervantes-Cabrera and del Carmen Briano-Turrent, 2018).
All the learning that has been made my me from week 1 to week 9 was implemented by me in
week 10. Under this week I experienced my learning and I found that I need to increase my
revision strategy in order to remember my learning in effective manner.

1 Five strategies that helped me in the improvement of learning
 Reading- The reading strategy helped in improving my vocabulary. I keep re-reading the text
of my notebook and this helped me in remembering the topic.
 Note making- Parting the whole courses into different notes enabled me in the better
understanding of the topic.
 Writing- This strategy enabled me in expressing my learning in written. The writing has
helped me in increasing my learning ability by writing it again and again.
 Revision- Re-calling the chapters helped me in remembering my topics for long period.
 Analysing- This strategy refers to understanding the topic in deeply. Analysing the topics
helped me in the better understanding of the topics.
2.Understand learning can be Adventure.
Learning can be adventurous as it is a approach to instruct the design of our skills and engage in
challenging the tasks(Paul, and et.al., 2020). There are numerous purpose to enjoy and adventure
the learning abilities. It enhance the students skills which include communication, writing,
referencing, identifying own performance, oral presentation and problem solving skills.
Initial responses to these seven approaches
Improving these seven approaches requires a focused and concentrated mind. These learning skills
will help an individual to grow in a effective and different way. For improving the learning skills I
need to create a schedule and manage my time to practice these approaches for the betterment of
myself. Seven approaches includes generating ideas, planning and enquiry, applying new
knowledge, identifying problems, creating new ideas and collaboration.

Conclusion
From the above report it has been concluded that, the personalized learning plays an important role in
the development of the learner. Analysing the learning of each week results in knowing the accurate
learning. And along with this, it also helps in knowing the skills that has been learned during each
week. Apart from this, the future action plan and goals has been developed from the learning. All over
this report was about the reflection of skills that has been made during the learning session and
implementation of that learning in the future.
