1. Introduction
Personal development is certainly an action to be taken by every individual to assure a
goal for itself. The goal planning exercise helps people efficiently achieve their goals and
inspires them to achieve their goals. This study also underlines the importance of ongoing
growth and evaluates self-reflection of personal abilities, professional knowledge and
character. The study also presents different methods and programmes for personal growth
using appropriate ideas and concepts. The major purpose of the study is to address the
relevance of personal and professional growth and to explain the value of short, medium, and
long-term objectives so that individuals may attain those goals successfully. In addition, this
report sets forth a personal development plan for skills and knowledge improvement (Allen-
Johnson, 2017).
2. Definition of the concept of personal and professional development
More emphasis should be paid to personal and professional development in order for
individuals to focus on their present skills and expertise and plan on developing new talents
according to their career. The main objective of the Personal Development Plan is to design
the suitable action plan based on knowledge, skills and values. This plan formulates a
particular development plan with a view to improving the individual's career. PDP is like a
documented self-reflection paper which helps enhance the objects and goals of the profession
(Buoro and et. al., 2018). The strategy has a few stages which everyone needs to follow, in
order to increase their academic level efficiently. All these stages are described below;
Set objectives: The objectives should be determined in the first phase so that a
strategy may be prepared according to these objectives. Individuals can set short-term,
medium-term or long-term objectives as required.
Prioritization of the goals: These goals must be prioritised and what is more valuable
is identified. Individual needs to develop a list to classify their ambitions according to
their job needs. Individuals can analyse themselves and their present competencies

Keep a daily diary – I have seen via the Personal and Professional Development Plan

My medium term goals
With PDP's guidance, I generalised the need to follow my passion, so I could build
my character efficiently, and created three mid-term objectives so I could concentrate on
them.
Marketing Certification course - I want to grow up my marketing career to develop a
strategy for a marketing certification course so that I may join my studies in a small, part-
time company. I may gain experience with this course that will benefit me in my future.

My long term goals
Business administration degree: I wanted to develop my marketing profession
according to my passion. I thus needed to be more careful in order to grasp new market
concepts. I look forward to this degree and make my career brighter to enhance my level of
life in society.
To strengthen my career I have established a long-term objective to enhance the
talents that are crucial to my professional growth. I want to gain new skills. I analysed the
need to improve management abilities, to solve important issues and to strengthen the basis in
terms of marketing knowledge so that I may utilise this information to acquire the job.
