7. There are certain elective modules present in the Procurement and Supply Chain
Management MSc programme (Louis and Pagell, 2018). The selection of modules needs

Resilient Supply Chains is one of the module of this course programme. In today's
interconnected world, the future procurement and supply chain professionals needs to
have the knowledge for recognising the potential risk related to experiencing disruption
in the supply chains. The professionals needs to have ability for preparing, reacting and
recovering from such unforeseen supply chains, i.e. developing resilience (Hopkins and
Sohal, 2019). Through learning with this course programme, I am able to identify various
key concepts from the business practices and literature and also to synthesis them in the
resilience supply chain design approach or framework, that is subjected for review,
further development and critique it. I am also able to identify various important steps
which are involved in the development and implementation of resilient supply chain
designs.
8. The course programme helps me to effectively evaluate various management issues and
challenges related to formulation and implementation of resilience into the supply chains.
The course module also guides me to effectively assess the effects and impacts of
contemporary supply chain practices into routine and non-routine business situations. I
can also describe about causalities and relationship between supply chain vulnerability,
supply chain risk management and supply chain resilience (Cordell and Thompson,
2019). The modules of the course programme guides me to have an appreciation
regarding how business organisation and human beings can prepare and also respond to
disruption in the specific contexts and situations of business. This also guides me about
how efficient and effective recovery can be enabled and how business organisations learn
through the past supply chain disruptions.

3 Review of occupation, organisation and the industry
I participated in the Procurement and Supply Chain Management MSc programme
through which I learned many things and gained important skills and knowledge required in the
field of procurement and supply chain management (Christopher, Mena and Van Hoek, 2018).
This fields put focus on identification and purchasing of raw materials which are needed for
creating products and services. My preferred professional role is to work in procurement and
supply chain management department. Because procurement is considered to be the important or
key part that helps in keep going the supply chain process in every business. The supply chain
management is concerned and related with the production process, shipment and also distribution
of products. This covers everything of the business starting from inventory to the sales, therefore,
it is crucial aspect of the business which makes and sells products. Therefore, I prefer to work as
Supply Chain Operations Manager.
I effectively learned and gained knowledge about basic and specialist skills through the
Procurement and Supply Chain Management MSc programme. This programme enables and
ensures that I can achieve professional development in the field of procurement and supply
chains. Thus, I chose to prefer the profession as a Supply Chain Operations Manager in the
BMW Group. This organisation is part of the Auto-mobile Industry (Supply Chain Management
in Automotive Industry, 2019). BMW Group is a German multinational company that was
founded in the year 1916. The company produces range of motor vehicles in different countries
including China, India, Brazil, South Africa, Germany, United Kingdom and United States.
I chose this organisation and industry because I feel I can effectively make use of my
current skills and competencies within the industry and gain effective results. The industry will
also allow me further opportunities for developing skills and competencies through certain
business situations and contexts. The preferred role or professional in the selected organisation or
industry will allow me to make effective use of the learned skills and competencies in the
business contexts and situations (Abdel-Basset and et.al., 2019).

Kolb's learning cycle:
It explains on the basis of two dimensions. First how an individual understands and
second how they process on this information. This learning cycle helps to an individual to
develop the skills of leader of procurement and supply chain management(Barker, Lencucha and
Anderson,2016).
Concrete experience: It is a first component of experimental leadership cycle. It is
related to everyday experience. Here they can learn about personal skill of leader, educational
skills and professional knowledge of procurement and supply chain management. It helps to
develop complete knowledge such as new roles of leadership etc. and helps to take first initial
towards their goals. This component provide opportunities to the individual to become a leader
that is valuable for an organisation.
Reflective observation: It is second component that helps in development of an
individual. This observation reflect when the individual already have a new experience. It
impacts by learned ideologies and preconceived notion. It is important for leader because that
continuously reflect on the experience of the individual and enhance their skills of leader of

procurement and supply chain management. With the help of this component, the individual can
help to their employees if they fails to meet certain goals. On that time leader can implement
previous reflective approach to develop the new strategy for employees.
Abstract conceptualization: Where the reflective observation is focused on
implementing previous experience as well as develop observation about their experiments. This
component helps to focus on challenging aspects. For example, the individual have negative
communication with a person than the individual can use effective method to sort out the matter
that helps to develop skills related to problem solving, conflict resolving and many more.
Active experimentation: It component of Kolb's learning cycle deals with the help of
process testing the existing ideas that is created by the experiment. For example, in this stage, the
individual develops the theoretical aspects and theories of the leader of procurement and supply
chain management. At this stage, the individual experiments on existing idea and evaluate their
result that helps to enhance the practical knowledge of the leader (Thomas, Rafie and Williams,
2016).
My leadership role in Nados
I am currently working in Nados as a store manager, I was provided effective training for
developing skills required for doing the same. The first stage was programme introduction in
which Our head of department inspired us. In the second stage, I was offered 2-day coaching
training programme along with other managers to develop our managerial skills. The last stage
was advanced leadership sessions, it was 4 day programme for all managers and directors of the
organisation. I really got encouraged with these training sessions and made improvements in my
own skills and abilities. I put my efforts as a leader in motivating my team and other colleague at
the workplace. As a leader I conducted training for my team members which included many
activities related to work and behaviour in the organisation. I also focused on improving team
work with effective coordination among each member. The leadership skills I developed at my
workplace are very helpful for me in my future career as leader.
CONCLUSION
From the above study it has been concluded that leadership style played a vital role in an
organisation. It has various strengths and weaknesses. Strengths helped them in achieving their
