INTRODUCTION
Personal development can be described as self-improvement in a person that involves different
types of activities for purpose of capabilities and potential of a person, building human capital,
enhancement of quality of life, facilitating of employability as well as the realisation of dreams
and aspirations (Bonsu, 2021). This project report includes skills and knowledge of leadership
and strategic management that provide support to the creation and attainment of the vision and
strategy of the organisation. It includes carrying out of audit of own personal development,
setting objectives and preparation of a personal development plan to develop different skills. It
also includes factors that impact over the creation of vision of the company.

There are different types of skills and knowledge to be required by a person in the context to
leadership and strategic management as it helps them to attain the vision and strategy of the
business. There are different skills included in this which are mentioned below:
Communication: It is one of the important skills which enable for sharing ideas, thoughts and
opinions of a person to another person. It is an essential skill for leadership and strategic
management. It is important for a person as it assists for purpose of sharing their views to others
and also listening to their problem (Cheng, 2021). Leaders need to understand the problem of
other employees and also needs to provide solutions to their problems.
Relationship building: It is one of the important skills which is important for a person as it
helps them for purpose of building relationships. It assists a person in connecting different
individuals at a different level, and roles effortlessly. It is essential in order to build a connection
with peers which helps them to build a positive relationships. Effective leadership is important in

influential leaders by offering different varieties. It provides natural abilities to a person which
assist them to be effective leaders. A successful leader is one who has different traits and
interests which will differentiate them from other people. There are different traits of a person
which makes them effective including competence, emotional stability, understanding challenge,
acceptance of responsibility, action-oriented thinking, Communication, motivation and others.
The Behavioural theory: It is a theory that explains environment of a person is dependent on
the leadership qualities. It is leadership which results from different types of leadership skills. It
is one of the important theories of leadership that emphasises that leaders can be made and
trained and not born (Huffington, James and Armstrong, 2018). According to theory, leaders
cannot contribute to the success of leaders as it is drives from their leadership qualities. These
qualities can be possessed by leaders with proper training and teaching.
All these theories of leaders help an individual learn different types of new things, developing
skills and new knowledge. It is important for the individual as it enables them for purpose of
improving their efficiency to influence others. These theories provide guidance about how an
individual can be motivated and also make them able to complete the work for the attainment of
