INTRODUCTION
The present study is based on the developing the personal development plan which
focuses in the strength and weakness of the person. In addition to this critical review of the own
skill will also be done in order to take corrective actions to improve the sills, attitudes and
competencies of the individual. The role which will be taken for the study is the marketing
manager.
Marketing manager is selected as the specific role. It skill, competencies, attitudes and
knowledge will be discussed in the personal development plan, the measures which are need to
take for improving the performance of the marketing manager(Croft and Wood, 2015).
Marketing manager is the person of the company who mainly deals with all the responsibilities
of the personnel, individual training and development programs related to the marketing
department of the company. The function of the marketing management includes handling of the
work of the employee’s starts with pricing of the goods to its distribution to the customers for
long run achievement of the organizational goal. Marketing mangers generally manages all the
activities like planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling all the marketing resources
and functions of the company. They basically act as link and mediator between the customers
and company for the management and distribution of the activities.
Self-auditing
This refers to the auditing of the personal skill so that I can manage all the activities and
functions of the organization effectively and efficiently. For self-auditing I need to understand
my knowledge level, my skills, capabilities and attitudes towards the different situation which
are to faced in the organization (Bates, Phalen and Moran, 2016) Some basic elements which are
need and required to evaluate and analyses effectively for better improvement and personal
enhancement.
Knowledge: I have different degree levels which are eligible for the role of the Marketing
manager that is Bachelor degree, master degree in commerce and administration. Master’s in
Marketing and business administration in which I have learned to manage the situation and
marketing related activities of the organization effectively and effective ways of communicating

to the other persons. I have also leadership theories which might help me in my available career
opportunities.
Skills: I have some of my personal skills which help me in the future career and also
benefit the organization in achieving their goals and objectives effectively. The skills which I
have obtained din myself is interpersonal skill, decision making, organizational, leadership,
loyal, speaking skills, ability to use the Marketing resources related software’s, communicative,
Decision making skills, Budgeting skills, Training and development skills, Empathetic skills,
Multi-tasking skills, Recruitment and hiring, Problem solving and conflict management, Ethics
and discrete Coordination, marketing skills.
Attitudes-, goal oriented behavior, positive attitude, integrity, effective response to
changes in the organization, polite, behavioral, and friendly, cooperative, emotional intelligence,
purpose focused, solution oriented, behavior towards the managing the time efficiency,
Excellent listeners(Lewis and et.al., 2016).
I will be working on my skills and attitude to improve myself so that I can able to achieve
the organizational goal efficiently to reach to the level of the understanding that I can manage the
complete Marketing activities by performing various different management and marketing
function including pricing, packaging, advertising, distribution, communication, person selling,
after sale services, marketing strategies, etc. in addition to this the management of the Marketing
departments by effective means can also be done efficiently. It is required to educate myself by
achieving more degree and practical knowledge which will enhance my skills and aptitudes.
I need to gain experience so that I can able to prepare for the entry level positions such as
Marketing assistant or Marketing specialist so that By experiencing ,myself sooner I can become
a Marketing manager (Riggs, 2017). Responsibilities and roles may include assisting with
keeping the records of distribution of goods, demand and supply, work performance, quality
maintenance, company's marketing policies, competition etc.
For improving my skill I will work on some others skills also so that I can develop those
in myself for better understanding of the Marketing functions and activities performed by them
so that goals can effectively achieved. Some skills need to be improve and develop in myself is
being appreciative, be grateful, being humble, identification of the wrong Marketing strategies,

Reflection
I personally think that I need to develop the above mentioned skills and attitude in order
to satisfy the need of the organization in long run. Effective skills and attitudes will guide me in
improving and enhancing my skills and personality which also contribute further in my career
opportunities. The enhancing personality will attract more companies towards me and as a result
I have more of the opportunity available is that I can evaluate all the benefits and disadvantages
of all the available opportunities and select the most appropriate one in order to presence my
skills. Competitive skills are need to develop so that proper and effective evaluation can be some
in order to know the strategies of the competitors and according the companies policies need to
be set so to achieve the overall organizational goal and improve the performance of the
organization. I have some skills from below mentioned development plan in which I am
excellent and some skills which I need to improve and by attaining the effective training and
development program mess I will focus on the required skills so that I can achieve them and
prove myself as the efficient Marketing manager of the organization on which I will be chosen.
My personal experience regarding the communicative skills is excellent as per my
opinion as I am better at interactive to others and understanding their needs and requirements
(Customers) by effective means of communication. I will help and take put the measures which
will helps in eliminating the problem of the people and will try to maintain the quality of the
goods so to satisfy the needs and wants of the customers.
Improvement
I have to focus on some important activities through which I can get successful in my
career by accepting and utilizing the efficient opportunities. The critical analysis of tasks, jobs,
roles and responsibilities will helps me to understand and lead me towards the achievement of
the Individual as well as organizational goal. The strategies need to formulate for developing the
required skills and attitude in my personality. By expanding account abilities that is to ensure
that different types of tasks and levels of responsibilities are needed so to evaluate every
situation effectively instead of performing the same task.

On the job coaching and off the job training will boost up my knowledge regarding the
practical knowledge of Marketing role in my organization. Selecting training responsibilities that
put the staff member touch with the new opportunities by operating and handling the problems.
Assigning a presentation that will give the opportunity to learn and to develop the organization
skills as well effectiveness in my speaking. Reviewing and critiquing the plan prior to the
presentation and by getting feedback from senior Marketing manager can also help in increasing
the effectiveness of presentation. To develop the personality and for the professional
development there are some planning steps which will ultimately help in developing my
personality and attitude. The steps are:
Step one: Requesting the self-assessment from the staff members
Step two: Developing your assessment of the individual’s skill level
Step three: assessing the department and organization’s need
Step four: Exploring development opportunities with the staff members
Step five: Recording and analyzing the staff members’ progress.
These steps include the self-assessment from the other staff members regarding the
interests, skills, values and personality and self-assessment planning. Assessment and their work
record of the staff members and Marketing manager skill level lies in the following categories
that is technical skills, special skills, aptitudes that is ( natural talent and special abilities ) and
attitudes. In order to develop the professional development the path of the success individual
needs are applied to address the organizational objective and goals, the career path for all the
individual must align with the organizational workforce needs and in creating the professional
development plan there is need to consider all the following goals which includes departmental
goals, team goals, individual goals etc.
The development training programs and resources are required to use and attend so that
individual can help themselves in their development the different attaining academic help can be
taken by the individual so they provide different opportunities such for learning such as web
designs, business writing, project management. Attending the workshops and seminars,
volunteer opportunities and mentor ship will guide in my professional development and

marketing departmental in the organization. Furthermore, it can also be concluded that there are
some ways through which I can develop my personality and can successfully implement my
