2MBA ASSIGNMENT
Introduction
The personal skills audit can be considered as a perfect method for identifying an
individual’s competencies as well as in-competencies. Several scholars and researchers have
proven and emphasized upon the fact that the personal audit is highly beneficial for those
individuals, who want to maintain their career goals and are ambitious (Andrews and Russell
2012).
Part 1
Personal skills audit presents a detailed analysis of the required skills and confidence
for applying and securing for several posts. It assists by enhancing the prospects of obtaining
employment at the graduate level. Moreover, a personal audit completely depends upon the
business area, in which an individual is working. In addition to this, it also varies within
different areas as well as environments. The module of graduate skills helps the students in
keeping the track of their career development goals and plans (Brownell 2015). This part of
the essay discusses about the compared results of the individuals who evaluated me. For this
purpose, I have used the four quadrants of Johari Window model, that is, open, blind, hidden
and unconscious.
My emotional intelligent results from two friends were completely similar to mine. I
am pretty cold and rarely concerned about what other people think about me. Moreover, my
cold nature helps me in making decisions which are more assertive. However, at times, this
cold nature of mine tends to upset my close ones, even when I do not want to hurt them. In
addition to this, the results suggested that I am an emotionally intelligent person and have
great relationships. My friends approach me for advices regarding relationships, studies,
career and many more. I manage to have great relationships with people and thus, my friends

as well as relatives approach me for advice. The personal development plan helped me in
establishing the overall direction or purpose for developing personal needs as well as
requirements. In addition to this, it enabled me in identifying the learning opportunities by
formulating an action plan. Moreover, it helped me in undertaking the developmental plan for
recording all the outcomes, evaluation as well as reviews.

The Johari Window model is a specific technique that helped me in getting an idea of
the relationships which I have with my friends. I have used this model in identifying my
nature, competencies and in-competencies and compared those with my friends. Moreover,
my close friends have a clear understanding of my nature. I am quite open regarding my
nature, which my friends also understand. I have a very cold nature and rarely concerned of
what people think about it. However, there is not much of difference regarding my friends’
comments about me and what I feel about myself. Such nature of mine, at times, proves to be
a bit difficult for me to cooperate with my friends.
The cold nature of mine helps me in taking tough decisions that are more assertive.
However, sometimes, my nature upsets my friends and I end up hurting them unknowingly.
There are no hidden feelings, which is unknown to others as my friends understand me well.

Moreover, the unconscious factor that comes into play is when I unknowingly hurt my
friends, with my words. The Johari Window model has helped me in gaining self awareness.
It also assisted me by improving communications and interpersonal relationships. However,
through personal development, I am able to develop teams and group dynamics, which in
turn, developed my inter group relationships.
Part 2
In this segment of the assignment, I will be discussing about my strengths,
weaknesses and possible improvements. I feel that due to my cold nature, I can take more
assertive decisions, which I would consider as my strength. I feel that assertiveness is the key
element to take quicker and better decisions. My assertive decisions have enabled me in
making faster decisions, which led to more productive actions. I personally feel that when
people are able to express themselves freely, without any fear, more and more ideas can be
generated that leads to productivity as well as creativity. Moreover, I compose sentences
more logically than emotionally, therefore, it can be said that I have a straightforward nature.
In addition to this, I have great relationships and an emotionally intelligent person. This
helped me in giving advices to many of my friends regarding their studies, career or
relationships. Researchers have revealed the fact that emotionally intelligent people often
have great leadership skills and potential. Therefore, it is important for me to realize this
potential through seeking opportunities in order to improve, even further.
With strengths, come various weaknesses which can affect one’s daily activities.
However, my assertive and cold nature can also pose a great threat to my career. At times, if
the message is not being conveyed properly, other may consider it as rudeness, rather than
assertiveness. Moreover, it can also reflect as over confidence and prove to be counter-
productive. In addition to this, at times, people who do not know me personally, thinks that I

am arrogant and rude. Therefore, this nature of mine also causes some difficulties to my life,
which I need to overcome (Gardner et al. 2012).
However, the possible improvements for this are that I need to take more
responsibilities and think about what other people think about my behavior. Moreover, I need
to improve my communication style and use more descriptive languages. In addition to this,
using a simple language will help me in making people understand about my nature. At
times, people think that I am rude and arrogant. Therefore, I need to observe their opinions
regarding me and check my attitude while conversing with them. In this manner, I will be
able to improve my weaknesses and respect others’ opinions.
Part 3
In order to function well as a global citizen, I need to develop some competencies as
well as responsibilities, which I have discussed in this part of the report. Almost each and
every global issue has some social, political, ethnic and economical perspectives attached
within it. I should be responsible towards understanding one’s perspectives towards the
global issues (Cottrell 2015). Moreover, it is highly important to respect the principles of the
cultural diversity. In addition to this, it is important to build connections as well as
relationships with the individuals belonging to different cultures and countries. Furthermore,
I need to be more responsive towards understanding of the global issues (Dabbagh and
Kitsantas 2012).
It is highly important to understand different ways by which people as well as
countries of the world are inter-dependent and inter-connected. Therefore, I need to play the
role of activists in urging greater cooperation on the international platform that is,
cooperating between the nations and others. In addition to this, I have the major responsibility
of working with one another my maintaining peace and harmony, in order to advocate for

justice solutions as well as global equality to such issues. There are various rights and
responsibilities which come along, in order to function well as a global citizen (Dowling
2014).
For example; while working at a culturally diverse global organization, named ABC
Organization, I have gained several experiences regarding personal development. The
organization has pumped in a lot of resources for ensuring that the employees create an
inclusive workplace. The organization’s inclusion of global diversity aims to maximize the
power of diversity and its inclusion, globally. This helps in driving sustainable business
competitive advantage as well as superior results of the business. They also conduct
mentoring programs and employee resource group, for making the employees understand
about the benefits of working together (Flores et al. 2012)
The CEO of the organization aims to implement several diversity policies into the
company. Moreover, various rewards as well as recognition programs are also introduced
within the workplace in order to encourage and motivate the employees to work better in a
diversified workplace. The organization believes that diversity is the major factor which
drives in better insights, better products and better decisions as well (Gould, Carson and
Blanton 2013). Our organization believes that nobody should be discriminated due to their
differences, like disability, age, gender, expression, ethnicity, gender identity and others. The
diversity awareness programs organized in ABC Organization aim to help the employees
understand the advantages of working in a diversified group (Jaros 2014).
Conclusion
To conclude, the personal development assessment has helped me a lot in
understanding my competencies and in-competencies, strengths and weaknesses. This will
assist me in near future, while working in a culturally diversified organization. However, I
