AI Summary
This assignment presents a comprehensive personality development plan. It begins with an introduction to the concept of personal development, emphasizing its role in enhancing competence and proficiency. The core of the assignment involves a self-assessment using the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis to evaluate the student's current skill set and personality traits, particularly in the context of healthcare services. Based on the SWOT analysis, the student outlines short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals aimed at improving communication skills, leadership capabilities, and self-confidence. The assignment then reviews an existing personal development plan, reflecting on its progress and limitations, and identifies opportunities for further improvement. An updated action plan is proposed, detailing specific activities and timelines to achieve the stated goals. The plan includes enrolling in communication courses, reading about leadership, and participating in group activities. Finally, the assignment concludes with a summary of the updated plan and a list of references.

Introduction:
Personal development plan is systematic approach in order to increase the competence level of
any person through some synchronised and interconnected procedure (Mittendorff et al. 2008).
The personal development plan allows me to increase my personal quality of knowledge and
skills that can also help to enhance my proficiency. This paper will present the critical analysis of
my current personal competence level while finding the further way of improvement. The
updated action plan will be made after critically analysing the existing personal development
plan and execution procedure. The purpose of this paper is to make a updated and more effective
personal development plan which can be effecting and attainable.
Self-assessment: (SWOT)
Finding out the properties of my personality with the skills, knowledge and boundaries analysis
of the strength, weakness, threat and opportunities are very important (Beausaert et al. 2013).
The following table will discuss the key components of my personality:
Strength S Weakness
Adequate knowledge in healthcare service
providing
Dedicating and heard working
Cooperative and friendly
W Lack of leading power
Lack of communicational fluency
Lack of confidence
Opportunities O Threat
Several mediums of increasing
communication skill
Wide scope of involvement in professional
work
T Poor confidence level can cause agitation
while under certain responsibilities
Multiple boundaries for being motivated
towards a particular way of work structure

From the above swot analysis, it is clear that the low communication power is highly related to
the leading capacity. On the other hand, the cooperative and friendly personality can open new
opportunities to lead while being involved in a group work. Both strength and weakness worked
together to build the way of improvement (Beausaert, Segers and Gijselaers 2011). At the same
time, some of the threats like poor confidence level and lack of motivation also can hinder my
professional and personal potential way of improvement.
Goals:
After analysing my strength, weakness, opportunities and threats several goals have been made
in order to set the target for building the personality development plan while separating them into
three segments namely short term, medium term and long term goals.
Short term goals Medium term goals Long term goals

Existing plan:
In order to achieve these goals I have made a self-development plan where I can examine my
existing properties of personalities while finding the right way of improvement. In my current
personality development plan, I have focused on my short term and medium term goals.
I am gathering knowledge about improving communicational skill through online tutorial and
coaching from the last five month.
I am maintaining a regular diary to keep me updated about my ability from last two month.
I have consulted with my supervisor to engage me in a group work based activities one week
ago.
Self-reflection on current progress and acquired new skills:
The major disadvantage of my existing personality development plan is, all of these procedures
are a very slow and time-consuming procedure. At the same time it cannot be assured that all of
this planned will be successfully improve my competence level. The personal development plan
is showing lack of tangibility as well (McCormack, Manley and Titchen 2013). There are no
plans in my existing personal development plan to improve my confidence level. However, some
of them have worked to some extent in order to develop my personality that can also influence
my professional efficiency.
The online course of improving my communicational skill has make me concerned about how
much I need to improve my communicational level and how the effective communication can
influence other professional aspect. Regular maintenance of reflective diary makes me updated
about my existing achievement and failure due to existing strength and weakness of my

personality. Talking with my supervisor about my group working would make me confidant
aiming to be prepared for the collaborative activity. The major limitation of my current
development plan is lack of effective activities. There are only three activities in my current
personal development plan for each domain of improvement.
Opportunity to further progress:
In order to make my existing plan more effective and efficient some alterations have to be made.
Initially, the number of activities has to be increased that allow me to engage more in personality
improvement procedure. On the other hand, instead of online tutorial the offline coaching for
communication, leadership and group management would help to build a more static and
sustainable improvement (Taylor et al. 2013). For short term, medium term and long-term goals
individual personality development activities have to be planned. As per the decision taken by
analysing the existing development plan the following personality development activities have
been made.
Updated Action plan:
Aim Pursuing goal Activity Start time Duration
Increase the
communicational
competence
Short term Enrolling in a communication
improvement course
20/6/18 5 months
Long term Online Tutorial and coaching 27/6/18 10 month
Enhance the
leadership
capability
Short term Reading from online and
offline source about leadership
and team management
25/6/18 3 months
Long term Participating in group based
activities
30/6/18 7 months

Enhance the self
confidence level
Short term Working in a friendly
environment where I would be
appreciated for doing better.
5/7/18 5 months
Long term Maintaining regular reflective
diary
15/6/18 10 month
Conclusion:
The updated personal development plan will allow me to increase my personal quality of
knowledge and skills that can also help to enhance my proficiency. From the above discussion it
is clear that both strength and weakness worked together to build the way of improvement. In
previous personality development plan it cannot be assured that all of this planned will be
successfully improve my competence level. In updated personal development plan ,for short
term, medium term and long-term goals individual personality development activities have been
planned.
