INTRODUCTION
The assignment is based on the different fundamentals and attributes required for the personal and
professional development. There are various parameters which are being used in the personal and
professional development of an individual. This assignment mainly aims at the personal and professional
development of an individual so that a person can become an efficient employee to work in the
organization. The assignment covers various aspect of the development like learning styles, learning
approaches and evaluation of the same. Further, the assignment will focus on the current skills and
competencies required for the organizational objectives and development of the required skills will also
be discussed in this assignment. Other than this a personal development plan with the help of the
different skills will be made to identify the developed skills and the skills which are required to
developed.

1.1 EVALUATE APPROACHES TO SELF-MANAGE LEARNING
Self-managed learning: A self-managed learning is a process where an individual or an employee can
learn different things by their own and manage it in their way. The advanced organization nowadays are
implementing the self-managed learning programmers which can fit in the organization so that the
employees can learn from various sources and various ways. This method of self-learning helps an
individual to develop their skills for personal and professional growth on a long-term basis.
DIFFERENT APPROACHES
There are various methods in which the self-learning of an individual can be done which are as follows:
SEMINARS: These are the events which are being organized by the National trust or the other
companies in which many speakers get along and share their knowledge and experience with the other
colleagues and employees. Seminars and conferences are one of the best sources for the self-learning
process (Brockett and Hiemstra, 2018).
For example: Much big organization sends their employees or the departmental heads to attend the
seminars and conferences so that they can learn new knowledge and imply the same in their working
and the company.
INTERNET: Internet is the widest ocean of knowledge from where one can learn innumerable things for
development. The Internet provides in-depth knowledge of every topic an employee want to explore
this gives a deep knowledge and help in the self-learning process. For example, an employee needs to
give a presentation on a particular topic than with the help of the internet an employee can gather so
much of information for presenting the presentation.
Books and journals: There are various books and journal that are available in the organization and
libraries which help to gain knowledge about different topics and methods which will help an individual
get developed professionally and personally.

The process of learning is very important in everyone’s career as it provides knowledge and
upgrades an employee to work efficiently and effectively in the organization. The process of
learning is a never-ending process with the help of which employees. The evaluation of the learning
can be done with the help of the set goals and then the application of the various models which are
as follows:
HONEY AND MUMFORD: This is the model of the learning which is based on four different
approaches which are as follows:
Activist: These are the learners who are very active in nature and love to accept new challenges but
at the same time they are not able to learn from teaching, theory, reading, etc. They carry out
activities like competitions, puzzles solving, brainstorming, etc.
Theorist: These are the people who are interested in the theories and like to analysis different
hypothesis and researches etc. they undergo the activities like the application of various models,
statistics, theories, etc. For example, the researchers who are being employees in the big shot
companies undergo such learning process (Truong, 2016).
Pragmatist: These are the employees who need to keep a check on how well they can apply their
learning in real life. They mostly enjoy applying new methods and techniques in their work. They
undergo activities like case studies, solving various practical problems, application of different
models in reality, etc. For example, most of the engineers do this type of self-learning

multiple information and study them for giving a reflection about a particular thing. They constant

National Trust need not focus on hiring instead it can grow itself with the help of the efficient
employees.
National Trust can increase the revenue and profit with the best of the employees.
National trust need not to incur on the training and development programs (Nisbet and
Shucksmith, 2017).

The development plan for my development plan is very important for which the following activities are
required to be taken by me to become an efficient manager in NT:
Communication skills: The communication skills are very important to get developed to work in NT as a
manager because the verbal and the non-verbal communication helps to build confidence and strong
interpersonal relationship. For example, if the communication skills are strong then it will help me to
give several presentations, conduct the meetings, etc. The communication can be developed with the
help of reading articles, journals practicing verbal and oral communication with the other individuals
(Adamson, 2018).
Leadership skills: The leadership skills are must to become an effective manager in NT. For example, it
helps in leading the workforce to fulfill the objective of the company and to deliver the best to the
customers. Leadership can be developed by solving various case studies and solving various cases in
daily activities.
Time management: It is the most important skill which every manager should possess. For example, it is
important for the manager of NT to set the priority of different tasks so that there is no overlap or lag in
the working. Time management can be developed with the help of the pickle jar theory means by giving
priority to various tasks depending on the urgency.
Decision Making: This type of skill is very important for the manager of NT as there are various
responsibilities on the manager in lieu to which many decisions have to be taken. For example change in
the policies, hiring, finances, etc. Decision-making ability can be developed with the help of solving

has also motivated me to work better in the organization.
