1PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Mission, vision and goals statement
My mission is to complete my current course with as much competency as possible and
absorb the knowledge that the course offers to its fullest. Also, I have the mission to use these
learnings to bring a change in my own life that would enable me to become a better person in my
personal life.
My vision is to use these learnings later in my professional life so that a state of
sustainable development can be achieved in the technological industry that would be looking into
the problem of global warming with more care so that a balance between the human activities
and the environment can be maintained.
My goal is to reach a position in my career that would enable me to take over the control
and allow me to work in a way that would be placing more importance on the operations of the
organization that would be effectively contributing to the preservation of the planet along with
better using the available technologies.
My position after five years
After five years in this field, I aim to gain enough knowledge and expertise so that I can
implement those learnings to enhance the product quality of the technology companies. In my
personal sphere, I wish to achieve a stable life after five years and see myself contributing
actively to my family and also being a reliable source of income upon whom my family can
depend without any doubts. Hence, after five years, I see myself in a position that has a balanced
personal and professional life and mostly is a fulfilling one.
I would also be using my learnings of this module in my personal life that would give me
important ideas about how to face demanding situations with calm and can think of feasible

solutions that would be most beneficial for the adversities that I may be facing at the specific
point of time.
Personal values in my professional career
As a person and individual, I put high value on change and adaptation. I believe that if
one does not accept the changes and adapts to those and changes the views, then it is a tough
struggle to survive. This is applicable in both a person’s own life and is also true when it comes
to the survival of an organization in a market or industry. One of the most valuable and important
instances of this in the recent times has been the example of Nokia failing to retain their empire
in the mobile phone industry. I want to form my professional career upon this very basic
personal ideology and be accepting of the changes. The market place is a constantly evolving
entity that is in a perpetual state of flux and the requirements of the industry is always evolving;
the consumers are at the center of any industry and there are regular and radical changes about
what a customer wants. These requirements and changes in demand have to be met if an
organization wishes to survive in the industry. In this very core functional aspect of a
professional life, I shall be applying my personal views and make sure that my work stays
relevant and can adjust according to the changing dynamics of the market.
I, also, believe that hard work, integrity are the two basic pillars of success in any field as
well as in life, in general. I put my hardest efforts to make sure that what I am doing results in
nothing but the best of the possible outcomes: be it my studies or my wish to become a good
human being overall. I wish to keep this the same in my latter life and attain success by honest
hard work. Keeping the moral compass straight which does not flinch at any cost is also
something that I place heavy importance upon and I shall not deviate from this even in my
professional life.

Personal values and ethics in academia
My personal values are also reflected by my beliefs and integrity when it comes to my
own academic life. Just as how I want my future professional life to grow, I also undertake my
academic responsibilities in the same way: relying on hard work and an eye for perfection. I
accept the fact that I do make flaws and errors are often detected, but I try to learn as much as
possible from those faults and solemnly try to reverse those issues in the future. Academically, I
am not very ambitious and am more contended with an in depth knowledge about limited things
and topics, rather than covering a lot of issues and have shallow ideas about each of them. I aim
to solidify what I know and not just run after every scattered bit of information that I come
across.
Ethical orientation is something that I believe in and perceive it as one of the most
important aspects of a person and a life should never abandon ethical views for anything. Even in
my academic life, I try to maintain this and learn about my subject as ethically as I can. Cheating
is sort of a short cut that does not ultimately benefit a person and I avoid this the most when it
comes to an academic life. My entire future life and career will heavily be dependent upon the
knowledge that I will be gaining in this stage of life and if that very knowledge is flawed then it
will pose to be a huge a problem later on.
Short-term and long-term goals
My professional goals are set in a very realistic manner that would be pertaining to
feasibility and attainable.
As a short-term goal, I have aimed to be able to successfully implement my skills and
knowledge to my career and use those as the background for learning further and intake as much

experience as possible during the first few years of my professional life. This would serve as my
prime tool for further times when I would be holding a higher position and would be able to
materialize my own ideas.
As my long-term goal, I wish to be able to use my technical know-how to create new
things and use the resources in such a way that be making the technological products more
durable and more efficient being of aid to the customers, with one simple aim in mind: to make
the world a better place to live in. I also aim to create a working condition and a technical system
that would use minimal resources and give back to the planet as much as possible so that the
environment can be preserved. It our solemn duty to protect the nature and I wish to do this
through whatever I do in my life and wherever I am.
