Personal as well as a professional and can be characterised as a
productive process which facilitates the individual as well as the
enterprises to engage in learning process and activities which can
provide necessary leverages to the same in their existing environment
(Charissi, 2020) . It also helps to prepare the individual towards
optimising upon prevailing opportunities so as to accomplish their
desired goals and objective as well. There are a variety of skills and
competencies that can be acquired through the process of personal and
professional development. Thus, it becomes very important for the
individuals to concentrate upon building their professional and personal
growth so as to achieve prominent heights in the future run. The
proposed project report will reflect upon the concept of personal and
professional development. It will also highlight upon the value of short-
term, medium term and long term goals and objectives. It will provide
necessary insights about the requirement of personal development plan
and how it can help the individuals to achieve their future goals in a
productive and efficient manner.
2. Definition of the concept of personal and professional
development
Personal and Professional Development is component which provides
the necessary assistance to the individual in order to assess and
evaluate their existence skills as well as capabilities and work towards
the betterment of the same. It allows the individuals to focus upon their
goals in life and achieve them with consistent hard work and dedication.
Personal and professional development is a very broad concept and
there several branches associated with the same (King, 2021). In order
to facilitate the development of an individual in his or her professional
carrier as well as personal life it is very necessary for the same to invest
his energy as well as time towards optimising and acquiring the
opportunity to elevate its understanding and knowledge regarding a
particular field of interest. Personal and professional development also
helps an individual to get hold of the right opportunities at the right time
phrase in order to exercise competent work operation in their respective
career field. Every given individual should concentrate upon developing
themselves professionally as well as personally so as to prepare
themselves to handle the risk and complexities prevailing in the external
as well as internal environment with confidence and willpower. There are
numerous ways through which an individual can facilitate the

Investing time and efforts in learning, education, training and
development, coaching mentoring etc. are the ways through which
individuals can focus upon enhancing their current knowledge as well as
accelerate their concentration upon achievement of prominent skill set
within the concern environment as well. It can be said that personal
growth and professional development are the triggers that can assist an
individual to achieve greater success within their everyday life
(Pochtaryova and Vasyagina, 2020) . It allows the individuals to
increase their existing knowledge and understanding regarding their
choices, opinions, ideas and preferences in life and allows them to
concentrate upon the same in a deliberate and consistent manner so as
to achieve their dreams and aspirations effectively.

Powell and Holland, 2020). Therefore, Short-term goals are taken into
consideration in order to break down the long-term goals into short-term
objectives so as to achieve them faster and efficiently. Short-term goals
also helps the individual to have an obvious vision of all the goals they
need to achieve so as to take one step forward towards their future
aspirations. For instance;
Communication is an integral attribute that helps the individuals to
interact more openly and flexibility with their peers and colleagues
and express themselves in a more defined and detailed manner.
Communication can consider as an impressive skill. It allows an
individual to facilitate opinions, emotions, feelings and thought
process in a clear manner which is easily understood by the other

to lead their academy journey in a systematic manner. It facilitate
the individuals with an opportunity to concentrate upon the desired
information in fractions of seconds rather than searching it out and
wasting time upon the internet and other sources to acquire the
relevant insights associated with the same.
Attendance of daily lectures can be stated as a medium-term goal
that can help to improve the consistency of the students towards
their academy course in a competent manner. It is very necessary
to attend the daily reactors in order to gain an overview about the
topics and concepts they are going on among the diverse different
classes and keep up with the same in advance manner.
Travelling can considered to be a liberating experience that allows
the individual to increase their exposure. The travel goal comprises
of bookings, travel period, travel preparation, travel journey, food,

Long term goals can be termed as the aspirations that an individual
would like to achieve or accomplish in the near future run. Long-term
goals require excessive planning as well as preparation in order to
facilitate the accomplishment of the same. A large time frame is
assigned to the realisation of long-term goals as they are not flexible
enough to be achieved within limited and short duration of time
(Alekhina, Safonov and Zapalatskaya, 2020) . An individual needs to
assign an enhanced time limit in order to achieve his or her long-term
goals in an accurate and effective manner.
Multitasking is a long-term goal that needs to be achieved in order
to complete a variety of tasks and targets while managing other
essential work as well. It is very important for the individuals to
focus upon multitasking and acquire the relevant multitasking skills
so as to complete their work efficiently and provide necessary time
to each task of the day and elevate the overall productivity
exhibited by an individual as well.
Learning French can also be termed as a long-term goal that

prominent resources in order to attain the goal in an effective and
productive manner. Personal development plan provides a necessary
opportunity to individuals through which they can extend their energies
and effort towards the realisation of important objectives in life and work
towards fulfilling their short-term and long-term desires. Personal
development plan involves the set time frame which guide the individual
about the time limit within which they need to achieve their objectives.
The former further helps to enhance the motivation of the individuals to
complete their goals and aspirations before the deadline set in the
personal development plan in order to accomplish the set targets set out
by the same (Kjærgård, 2020). It can be said that personal development
plan is an action plan that facilitates the right set of procedure to an
individual through which they can achieve greater success in their
personal as well as professional life. The objectives set by the individual
in the personal development plan can be anything that is personal and
important for the same. For example; building communication skill,
learning a new language, travelling to a new city or exploring a new
culture can be one of the set target of an individuals within the
formulated personal development man.

From the above discussion, it can be stated that personal and
professional development needs to be exercised by an individual in their
regular patterns of everyday life in order to extract the maximum benefit
out of the same. Short-term medium and long-term goals are very
necessary to be incorporated and implemented in order to achieve the
overall objective formulated by an individual throughout his or her
phases of life. Personal development plan is also one of the assets that
can be capitalised with great productivity as it helps the individual to
achieve the life of their dreams by working upon the minor and major
attributes. PDP can also enhance the professional and personal
