INTRODUCTION
This report focuses on need of professional and personal development in an individual by
help of personal development plan. Personal development plan is used by individuals to develop
new skills which can help them in achieving their personal goals and objectives. Personal
development plan is based on formulation of goals, reflection and planning to achieve goals
which are proposed by individual. This plan help individual in identifying own strengths and
weaknesses. Personal development plan consists of various points which includes identifying
goals then setting time period to achieve those goals and focuses on using appropriate plan and
strategies to achieve desired goals and objectives (Ashurst, 2017).
TASK 1
Importance of professional and personal development
Personal development is explained as process of achieving goals and objectives which
can contributes in professional and personal development of individual. Professional
development is explained as process of developing appropriate skills and knowledge which
makes individual effective for employability scenario. Personal and professional development
both are important in current employability scenario. It also includes development of skills
related to communication, reading, analytical, research etc. Personal and professional
development help individual in enhancing its performance at job and help in getting recognition
in organisation and individual personal and professional development contributes in organisation
growth and development (Bintani, 2020).
Short-term goals importance with 3 personal examples
Short term objectives are explained as objectives which are formulated by individual in
its own development. Short-term goal have specific time duration which is between 1 month to 3
months. There are some short-term goals which are proposed by me and which I am looking to
achieve in 1 month to 3 months.
I am looking to develop and enhance my communication skills.
I am also focusing on developing my research skills.
I am focusing on improving my reading skills.

Medium-term goals importance with 3 personal examples
Medium-term objectives take more time as compared to short-term goals as time duration
for medium-term goals is between 3 months to 6 months. I have proposed some medium-term
goals for my future which are mentioned below:
I am looking to develop my analytical skills
I am also looking to improve my general awareness about current market scenario
I am looking to propose an effective business plan for setting my business (Guilmett,
2017).
Long-term goals importance with 3 personal examples
Long-term goals take more time in comparison to short-term and medium-term goals as
time duration for these type of goals are more than 1 year.
My long-term goal is to develop my leadership skills.
My long-term goal is to start my own business.
My long-term goal is to enhance my decision-making skills.

Personal development plan is used to develop skills which are needed according to
individual. This plan focuses on individual goals and objectives which individual wants to
achieve in specific time frame. It also help in measuring the progress in achieving desired goals
and objectives. My personal development plan is mentioned below and different steps are also
included by which I am going to achieve my goals:
